"Put the MC's in them, season em" I such a damn clever line. I've always loved this song, cause I think sometimes (especially in the early albums) Nate is very negative towards himself. For obvious reasons. Bro has demons. And he's working in fighting them. But in this song he's like, "You know what? I AM a good rapper. I CAN keep up with all the other MC's out there. And I'm not gonna let anyone hinder me in something that is not only my passion, but something that is also healing for me". He's advocating for himself here. And I love it.
I don't know if you've heard this about NF. He got his start in the Christian/rap but eventually got to start making the music he wanted. Some people wanting to SoundClip him on the topic of being a Christian rapper he said he's "not a Christian-rapper, But a rapper that is Christian. If a Christian is a plumber that doesn't make him a Christian-plumber." You're intro about being you but also a therapist made me think about that. You can be an awesome you and be an awesome therapist.

You wanna know where my heart is? I stand out 'cause I wear my garbage I work my hardest and every time I look into the mirror, I don't forget about where I started
For you won't get overwhelmed, let's start connecting some stuff from what you've seen. In Intro 1, he was wrapped around in caution tape. In Intro 2, the house, "the mansion", was wrapped around it. You are going to start seeing many things connect. Be ready haha These few videos will be important for songs later in this journey. Put on your seatbelts. This will be a fun ride lol
Yeas this video is heavily inspired from his favorite movie, Inception. But also his videos are always a metaphor for his mind. NF feels as though it's dark and a mess.
I was listening to the beginning of what you said about the person who was encouraging you and I think that's a wonderful thing because people has myself sometimes forget how much effort time and sacrifices that people in your position make to help people in my position. And what I have been doing is going through all of your reactions and I'm actually in therapy now listening how you can dissect and articulate and help me understand through the pain and anguish of others so I can identify my own I received the healing that I need. If I want to say thank you for that I want to say thank you for your sacrifice as well. I want to say thank you for these free lessons that you are giving me. But I also want you to know got to return that you have invested in me without you knowing we'll have an abundance of return
I am so extremely good at acting/looking like I’m ok that if I ever were to tell anyone I was depressed nobody would ever believe me. And if I was forced into therapy I would literally say that I’m faking it, so it’s really up to me to heal myself. Nothing against therapists but it will never work for me and yes I have tried it so I know.
Another amazing reaction 😊 Bombastic song with a hyper beat and real lyrics. Be prepared for what is to come. The Journey has so much to offer to everyone. A big hug 🫂
this probably one of the most non-"therapy-related" tracks and there are some of these in the track list, but especially from perception onwards the "flex" tracks get pretty much phased out (there are some, of course). thanks for your introspection from what little there is to discuss there though. fun to see how even from a track like this there are some points to explain from the standpoint of therapy. therapy session is his most "aggressive" rap style era too, it does get softer after this album. this album really was a big venting session.
You're not just a therapist but a hero as well, if you change a life or even take the time to listen to someone with mental health or family issues etc. just listening to someone means the world to them and people like myself are proud people like you exist in this world.
The rumor has it that NF wrote this song while on a plane flying back from a not so great meeting with some music executives who wanted him to change his style. The plane is a metaphor for his career. It is taking off, but there is some turbulence and frustration. I love the line referring to "Nathan's Famous Dogs" when he says "I'm not famous, I'm just Nathan." As others have mentioned there is a typical expectation if you are a Christian and an artist. The Christian label was probably saying he wasn't Christian enough. Just a theory.
No, you shouldn't expect everyone to like it, and NF even says I'm not complaining I'm just being honest, but I promise I will not beg for respect. He is saying basically take it or leave it.
In my experience probably like 90% of therapists I've seen are worthless lol and I've seen like 15 or so probably, only 1 voluntarily, otherwise was legally ordered to, which had to hold back a lot because of, which they wouldn't of been able to help or probably handle anyway lol, the two that were good were females n basically became friends, wasn't really therapy persay especially since couldn't be completely honest, like the 1 girl was only like 24 or something lol she told me she was really intimidated by me at first etc, was for drug court she ended up helping me out big time by allowing me to continue there even tho she knew wasn't needed n whatever but was free, at the probation office it would have ended up costing me hundreds of dollars... really enjoyed talking to her n hearing about her life, really nice girl...she got pregnant while I was seeing her, had a pug she'd talk about lol, really innocent girl tho lol couldn't take much from her because she didn't have very much life experience, like just the tiny bit told her she could hardly comprehend lol. The most therapeutic experience I've probably had involved with "the system" was when I was 12 had to do a "scared straight" thing for probation at a prison, talking with the prisoners n whatnot, which they were supposed to make us uncomfortable lmao they did they other kids but they couldn't faze me n ended up becoming my homies, on way to leave at end there was like 5 that were upset I wasn't going to dap them up, wanted me to write to them etc, feel bad didn', like dude that did custom artwork with shoes I got put in cell with, was in for 2 gang m*rders n told me had another he didn't get caught for, like had that much trust in me as a kid to tell me about that lol could have ratted on him n give him another sentence, that day is 1 of my favorite childhood memories lol lot of memories etc. Long rant lol I'm very invested with therapy and psychology...all that stuff
Really LOVE THE REACTION!!! Maybe check out NEIL PEART Buddy Rich HONOR????? Surprises awaits!! :) ♥AND, or... NF initially got his start on a Christian music label. He (unfortunately) got some "hate" from super-judgmental Christians because his "Mansion" album had some "dark undertones". So I imagine he struggled with that -- he's trying to be authentic, and leaning on his faith, but other people who claimed to be Christians were judging him for showing the "ugly side" of reality. It's sad, really! #nfrealmusic
The story behind this song is he literally dreamed of it when he was traveling on a plane, which gave him the idea for the video
How did you know that?, did he mention that before?
@@AlezLevi Yes, NF mentioned this in an interview I believe

But to answer your question about criticism, NF is his own biggest critic. He's said it many times in interviews.
Safe flight Keilani! ❤
This one is my favorite NF song
yeah agree life being fast these days let us not taking a moment to reflect to what we are doing and where we are going!

Thus the song "All I Have".
It can be hard to ever trust therapists after seeing what they do for money.
*can do
Partially ego, partially abandonment. Why aren’t I good enough? It’s a repeating motif throughout my life.
If God ain't real, real isn't.
