- A temporary mural in the Yorkshire town of Driffield shows fifteen local shopkeepers and businesspeople. Because 98.7% of the town’s citizens are white, so too are the people depicted in the mural. This has caused some people to become angry and upset at the lack of diversity.

I'm sick of 'diversity' being promoted as some kind of ideal state and 'whiteness' being regarded as shameful and disgusting. I used to live in a very diverse borough of South London; my husband got mugged by a group of ethnic gentlemen and we slept with a metal chair leg by the bed in case someone broke in. We moved north to a white town and have been safer and happier ever since.
We fled London as my stepson's school was full of black kids who were aggressively and intimidatingly anti-study.
Its anti-whiteness. Nobody says anything about a Japanese town that is 100% ethnic Japanese (which is most Japanese towns outside the big cities). Its only countries with ethnically Caucasian heritage that get this diversity pushed. Wonder why that is? Almost as it it's an agenda...
And that will be whites only refuge. NORTH! FAR north.

Two years ago I visited the northern former industrial town in which I grew up after the war. The many churches that had lined the main road northwards had been converted to mosques. The people in the streets wore non-European clothing (naming it would probably get this contribution removed) and almost entirely male. There were few indigenes left; they looked poor and very dispirited. I saw my country's future.

My brother had to visit one of those northern towns you speak of which has been overrun with non-whites of a certain religion. He visted a supermarket and found the first two aisles packed with halal products. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. It's disgusting this has been allowed to happen.

Everyone else was 'diverse'. Spot the white man is a great game to play during ad breaks if you can still stand having a telly. It's a very popular and attractive town with great independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
I live in driffield it is quite a nice town.
The population is probably too small, in order to set up a viable drugs business. . .too white as well!
The small town in Somerset where I have lived for the last fifty years, has a similar population and similar percentage of white. Let's face it, that's what most of England is like outside of cities and large conurbations. Since the planning rules were changed in 2008 to allow building on farm land our town has doubled in size and now long term disused and derelict buildings are being repaired. I fear a new wave of in-comers will soon be arriving.
I am 32 and went to school in suburban Liverpool out of 180 kids in my year 2 were mixed race, since then the demographics have changed so much.

My town is majority white we too have a lot of building going on and the town is getting bigger yr on yr, i fear we are getting ready for an influx I just hope the influx is fellow English men fleeing the cities and multiculturalism.

As an asian, many years ago I started a new job commuting to a small town which was greater than 99% white (at the time) and still is close to that figure today. It was an absolutely wonderful place to work with low crimes rates, friendly people and there was not a hint of racism towards me. Even though I was the only brown face in a vast crowd of local people in the town centre not once did I feel uncomfortable, excluded or outcast. It was also a brilliant insight into a genuine proper English town which to this day, I sorely miss.
Which proves how the majority of Brits couldn't actually care less what colour someone is as long as they behave, roll up their sleeves and muck in. You are a true Brit.

The mural reflects the community. Is that not what the left demands?
They have 2 types of "representation," and use either one depending on which most humiliates the natives in a given situation. "Reflecting the community" is one type, where people are portrayed or employed in proportion to their skin tone's prevalence in the population.
The other type has the entire population of a given skin tone represented by one example of the group. So if there is one Vietnamese person in the town, one Somali etc, then the mural would feature each of those people, one of every other ethnicity, and one native person. Everyone is represented, and the mural conforms to ideology despite being a lie.
I'm sick of this continuous outrage that white people are in the majority on a cold Western island!

About ten years ago I found myself at a Labour Party fundraiser talking to a lady describing herself as ‘Diversity rep’. She announced that our city (in England) five years earlier had been only 1% BAME and now was 11.9% BAME. She was almost punching the air with pride and delight.
I don’t know the current percentage but from visual observation I would guess it has at least doubled maybe even tripled.
You can bet your life Ms. Diversity Rep didn't live in the town but in a lovely middle class, mostly white enclave further afield.

The street I live on is 90% diverse. I have no need of foreign holidays, but do I like to visit the less exotic English towns around Yorkshire when I need a break.

I looked up Driffield on Wikipedia. It was labeled the Best Northern England Town to Live in 2019. Gee, I wonder why.
A company I worked for was based in predominantly White region of the UK, when visited by representatives ( White ) of another company based in the midlands, they commented that our area was " horribly un diverse" not a phrase I thought they should have been using as guests in our area.

I live near Driffield, it is my favourite town to visit for friendliness and for a good selection of shops. These racists need to sod off, the mural represents the population demographic and celebrates the excellent business owners in the town.

Reminds me of the old series of the TV show, Midsomer Murders, which featured remote rural villages whcih where mostly all white. Then the producer remarked on how this was a good idea, and oh my word, the world erupted, he was forced to apologise and then forced out, and now each episode resembles an episode of Eastenders or the Bill.

There are many towns further North than Driffield that are of the same demographic, this is not a problem to the majority living their.
I live on the Worcestershire/Shropshire border and there are very few minorities yet Birmingham is less than 30 miles away. I must say the current immigration situation is discussed a lot by the locals and not in a favourable way. The recent EU workers many of who seem to have gone were very well liked. Never mind if we can't get Brits to pick soft fruits etc round here which are grown in abundance we can fly it in ready from China and turn the fields into housing estates.
They just don't want us to know what peace and security look like.
Gone are the days when all towns was like this one, SADLY.

The mural is lovely. It is a realistic representation of the town, and not some fictional utopian ideal that is in no way reflective of the society that is represents.
If I go to Egypt, I should not be angered when the images in the media do not depict a woman with a complexion like a corpse. Nor would I go to Japan and feel offended when I see Japanese models in adverts.
Yes that's why people visit other countries if they can to see their culture etc not wanting to change it just enjoy the difference x
In our village we have a inhabitants fund whereby any dwelling goes up for sale we buy it ,,then we only sell the property to non ruffians and the village remains absolutely splendid .
OMG this is too outrageous for words!! I pray this lovely mural is left the hell alone and not altered in any way whatsoever! It would be seen as open invitation to commence diversification and that would be the biggest shame of all.
