One my all-time favorites.Definitely played with it by ear before.
First vid I've seen where someone actually breaks it down musically. Great job...I will go try this!:)

Cool lesson, thanks! I actually practice this starting both with the right hand and left. Good rudiment pattern :-)

Hey Nick. Thanks for the lesson! Do you really need to have use sticking as RRLR to me a simple RLRL will work as well, you just need to alternate. And I see the original song does not have base drum, although I found your version cooler.

I know I am late to the game, and maybe it's just me, but in the JA recording sounds as though there are grace notes after most of the triplet figures; and if so, it is easier for me to play this RLRrL (r being the grace note). Then again, maybe it's just reverb making these notes sound thicker than they really are...

great lesson but hey, "anyone over 35" might remember that song? oh yeah? Okay, it was released in 1967, so 52 years ago... And you're right, people have heard it more recently in films, series etc, so it's kind of silly to equate someone's age and the music they may have heard in their life. You may have musical culture without being necessarily "old" (whatevr "old" is...)
