Nice vid, no notes. UTV!
People talk about how Pep Guardiola is changing how football is played. Emery is changing everything, and silently doing so
Thing is majority of his players was probably fringe players or championship players
To show the whole footballing world what can be achieved by proper coaching
Arteta they keep mentioning is no where near because he hasn’t made anyone into a star he buys expensive players and after season 1 how many are worth what he paid
Emery makes stars
Imagine if Emery have half the money Pep have…….
@@wingchan4042Clearly you don't watch football. It's as if you disregard the fact that Emery was once at PSG.... 😮 Shocking
@@BachelorMac1016 PSG didn't really give him a chance though and hadn't started spending crazy until after he was gone
@@BachelorMac1016 He didn’t have nearly the same backing as other managers at PSG and surely not as much as Guardiola at City.
A great confident team assembled with a shared
purpose. By a confident manager and his coaching staff backed by shrewd owners and of course all the VILLA faithful.
Well said 👌👏👏👏
There aren't many managers that can install so much belief in the team and the fan base that no matter the score line no matter the team we know and fully belive we can beast any team on any day
Villa fan here, you did an EXCELLENT job with this, superb video!!
Dibu Martinez and Ollie Watkins really proved their worth in the 2023/24 and are doing really doing great now. Unai Emmery Masterclass.
Dibu has already proved him self as one of the best gks since 2022, he is just evolving more and more as the years go by
John Duran
I'm usually not one to protest a lot of decisions but man, Ollie was absolutely robbed as Premier League player of the season. The dude was outstanding
@@mindedsinger2823I'm talking about club football. I'm also a die hard Argentina Supporter from the early 2000s.
Great overview. Only critique, would be right at the end, where you correctly mention the important long term injuries to three of our players in Mings, Buendia and Kamara for all or most of last season ... All those players are ALSO due to make their comeback in the team any day now. So that is a MASSIVE additional boost to Aston Villa's squad depth and experience for this season. UTV!
My only critique is they drew 2-2 with ipswich and looked like the newly promoted team. Were lucky to take a point.
Those games will happen. Teams are going to get fired up playing us now.
@@STST Ipswich also drew with Brighton and Fulham, who are also playing well this season. Perhaps, Villa also underestimated Ipswich, who are performing really well for a newly promoted club this season.
i remember when the only villa vids like this id watch was about how shit we were 😂 now look at this! great vid bro ❤
My only critique is they drew 2-2 with ipswich and looked like the newly promoted team. Were lucky to take a point.
@STST because we go into the games expecting it to be easy but we knew what bayern munich was and we knew they was a massive threat sané was elite and genuinely as soon as he come on he worried us his pace skills pass and shooting power we had heart we are the goats the founders
@@STSTdefinitely were lucky! Think we lost focus for a bit, Carlos and Konsa both switched off in spells where they shouldn’t have
The whole structure proves if you all commit, and continue, and work together, can succeed, immensely, absolutely science, but Magnific with An E on the end, tremendous ,
Finally getting the recognition we’ve deserved for about 2 years now!!
My only critique is they drew 2-2 with ipswich and looked like the newly promoted team. Were lucky to take a point.
@@STST Ipswich town is a draw game specialist
Yea but that’s bc they had Bayern on Wednesday but I get it
Fantastic video and birilliantly delivered..
Also huge part of this success is due to the ownership. Owners wants to spend and want to win and at the same time wants stability
Indeed, very rare nowadays
Spending doesn’t always breed success look at Man U. The way villa spend is quite actually genius
@@ellis-loweBc they have good scouting networks
@@ellis-loweVilla spend extremely sensibly. Even in this transfer window, bought Barkley for next to nothing and he’s already become important. Last year, Rogers for single digits and Tielemans on a free. Balanced with big money for Douglas Luiz and Diaby, neither of whom were irreplaceable last season. Bringing in the youth and integrating them, Philogene coming back and actually starting in the Bayern game giving an impressive performance. Every player completely clear on their role and their responsibility, no fuss or drama, plenty of rotation, yes the injuries are difficult and are stacking up and yes we have gaps in our defensive lineup but our manager isn’t stubborn - he always knows how to make the best of what’s available. Meanwhile more players are coming back from injury and there’s enough depth to keep going, we play a pragmatic game that doesn’t wear players out early (which is what hurt Newcastle and Liverpool in recent seasons). Hopefully we can get top 5 again, the issue is that Chelsea and Spurs won’t make it easy
Great analysis 👍, I'm glad someone has done there homework on villa 👏, we're a series outfit with a world class manager, you didn't mention Jacob ramsey who is the next jack grealish , villa will challenge the title in the next three years
Very good video.
It's amazing and to think since the 2nd game against Arsenal we either had to play a kid whose a CDM/CB by trade at RB(speaks volumes of what he thinks of Kosta quite frankly) or shift our best CB to RB and play Diego which you just don't know what Diego you're getting you're either getting the Diego we saw against Bayern or City last season or you get the Diego we saw against Ipswich. Hopefully with Cashy coming back now we can continue the form and he performs like he before the injury as for all his flaws he's pretty good.
Buendia getting back to fitness bit by bit with McGinn,Mings and Kamara still to come. You said Diaby was one of our best players last season but on the eye test he didn't look it technically he did play well by the stats as well as Bailey even but the eye test doesn't back that up for whatever reason.
Philogene though what a player he was a workhorse against Bayern. Also Watkins massively underrated he doesn't get the kudos that he deserves for the people who don't watch Villa I get the whole start Durán over him arguement but if you really watch us that shouldn't be a question Watkins over Durán the only debate really is whether to play them both or not. I won't change a winning formula Watkins tiring out the defence with Durán finishing them off.
I think you need to get your eyes checked
It's genius. Watkins terrorises the defence for an hour and Duran comes on and finishes it off. I don't think either of them will fully be happy about it, but my god is it working
@@aDragonMC_2_ exactly, no need to fix what isn’t broken. Honestly out of the two of them I’d say Duran is getting the much better end of the deal right now! Ollie is the unsung hero (by casuals - Villa fans know his worth), must be tough to put all that work in only to get subbed off and see Duran get brilliant goals, but that’s exactly why we love Watkins so much, he’s the least selfish striker of his calibre that there is. Immensely underrated for his creativity and assists too. He’s going to continue to start and deservedly so.
W video UTV 🐐
Love it, great vid. UTV BOYSSS 💜
top video man! UTV 💜💙
In unai emery we trust
UTV
There are some inconsistencies though for example against Ipswich Town (which has been largely foreshadowed by their performance vs Bayern). That’s true for any up and coming team, but it’s still going to affect them.
Yes. Ipswich Town made them look very average. And for a newly promoted team too. Aston Villa are nothing special. Just met Bayern on a bad day. They won't be finishing 4th again. Lucky to finish top 8. Ipswich made them look like a poor team. It didn't take much.
@@EnriqueBartulac yes a draw is considered bad for villa , it's where there at mate , we all take a L now and then , we learn and move forward
@@STST bro I kno a draw is considered bad for villa now but , every team in prem has took a L this season get over it ,

Nice video you forgot a big part of the transformation and that’s MONCHI blokes a transfer wizard
Thanks for promoting Aston villa 💜😆💜🩵🙏🙏😌👌👍👍🥇🥇🥇
I mean... Durán is only 20 y/o so him only scoring single digit goals in the MLS is not something bad.
Underrated
I love onana when you watch you see him on tv he’s so tall lol
as a united fan i was thanking the lucky stars that villa were asleep on Sunday, united had an easy go of it in terms of possession and creating chances.
but as a fan of plucky under-dogs with the hero mentality, I was sad not to see Aston Villa being an absolute machine. usually watching Villa play is like watching the Roma v barcelona 2017/18 second leg
Martinez🇦🇷what a class
Ipswich fan here. Yes , they are a good side but scary ? No. We were very unlucky not to take all the ponts from them last week at Portman Road.
Great vid, just one issue-Moreno is already gone. Otherwise, UTV!
Can you do a video on the rise of jhon duran
I love my team UTV
He was always gonna do good, Aston Villa has the word villa in it, remember what he did at seVILLA?
When the manager set up thing right, most players are great and even world talent. In contrast, like Ten Hag, world talent turns to scrap.
What about Duran? He is a treasure!
@@jesusprada7679 there was a whole section on him in the video!
Villa have sold players and not replaced their quality in the past because we had to sort out the books. Randy had taken huge financial hits post 2008 market crash and was struggling, and then when Xia brought the club in 2016, within a year we were nearly in administration due to his poor financials.
The big main change that has occurred is Nassif and Wes coming in and committing to take Aston Villa to old new heights again. They appointed Unai and allowed him to bring in his own staff and make their own transfer decisions. They would have accomplished a lot more already if the dumb PSR FFP regs weren’t in place to protect the big 6.
Upward from here. UTV
Also, we’re now in the incredible position of having top players play with us at their PRIME, instead of having to sell our young talents or buy old injury prone players. It makes such a difference. We’re going to get prime Rogers, Onana, Tielemans, Konsa, Torres, Maatsen. We have prime Watkins and prime Martinez. Emi is a legend for how much he’s done for the club, not just in terms of performance but his belief and confidence is season-changing. We’ve got a great bunch and the best thing is that all of them seem to love being here and want to stay here (maybe except Duran, but that’s alright as long as he keeps scoring😂)
We're not that good. Yet 💜💙✌🏻
I think we're going in the right direction though 👍🏻
So nice seeing a different club represent the premier league in the cl other than the usual suspects aresebal , man c , liver fc , manure
Manchester city are relatively new to the champions league in all fairness
@@nffclaceysadly not any more, they’ve been there for a decade now
Lucas Digne.
I love watkins and i think he is world class but tbh duran needs to start, emery either needs to replace watkins with duran or play them both upfront
I think Watkins should still start, I still think Jhon Duran is an excellent player, but I think he's working really well as a last bit of energy to truly destroy the defense
Would be an easy decision to make if Ollie wasn't also scoring goals. They would be a menace to any defence if they played together but Unai has tried in the past and said it didn't work. But in the 2nd half vs Wovles they were both on so maybe there is hope.
@@SimBir08 yeah good point
Mate it doesn’t work. When we start Duran he doesn’t perform. We started him against Wycombe Wonderers and he did nothing. It’s happened several times. He has only scored one goal when he has started.
Watkins does the graft he leads the line superbly. He runs centre backs for the hour and then Duran is introduced against fatigued defenders and causes havoc .. Don't change a winning formula..
Is this video Duran biased cause he played in America???
barkley is number 6. he shouldnt be 20 on the thumbnail
Matt cash
Man Utd will scare villa on Sunday
😂😂 not a chance , have you seen united worse team in prem right now , villa about to get there manager sacked ❤
i don't think so buddy😂😂😂
Utd always manage to expose us somehow so you might be right unfortunately😂 As a Villa fan it’s engrained in me to expect the worst so I’m never disappointed, still haven’t forgotten that 3-2 on Boxing Day so I’ll hold my breath until the match is over today😂
Just jumping on the band wagon,

Still couldn't beat Ipswich Town though.

Glazing teams like always
What are you supposed to do hate on every team!?
wdym glazing team's aston villa are doing pretty good rn
Go find some weird toxic vids then? If that's the type you are.
They were scarier last season, theyre winning but they haven't been playing like a top tier premier league team.
Yep, too shaky in defence, but honestly most of that is because we don’t have Kamara. That was the turning point last season and it’s still hurting us this season. For some reason we can only keep clean sheets in the champions league😂
Yet we can't beat Ipswich.
The players probably had one eye on Bayern
@@dennisgoatimer1079Ipswich are better than Bayern
@@STST I didn't say they were fella comprehend what I'm saying when I said they probably had one eye on Bayern.
@@dennisgoatimer1079 and that's probably why they will finish outside Europe this season and go decades without getting there again. If you can't field a team that can beat Ipswich away and still compete in the competition then you probably shouldn't be there in the first place. It's going to negatively effect your season in the very league that got you in the competition to start with. Basically this is the beginning of Aston Villlas downfall to where they belong.
@@STST Nice joke fella one draw and you think that derails our season you do know City lost to Brentford when they won the treble right?

They didn't scare Ipswich Town and were lucky to get a draw at the end of second half.
Great teams can have off days you know. You can’t win every single game. Silly argument.
Thats like playing down Man City's treble year because they lost a game against Brentford lol. Every club drops points to weaker sides every now and then, its just how football works

Villa are nothing special, its just that Bayern are worse. Lowly euro garbage team. Not premier league quality.

Nothing special, but finished top 4 last season, qualifying for UCL, beating one of the most inform team in Europe. Okay😊
Hahaha go learn ball then come back ❤
So much salt around Villa doing well. Sour grapes. Get used to it 💜💙
It's one thing to downplay Villa's achievements, but to say they are not Premier League quality is a bit silly. In the 33 seasons since the formation of the Prem, Villa have been part of 30....and if you wanna go back further you'll realise Villa are very much a mainstay of the top flight in England. Also given they finished fourth last season, you are implying that everyone from Spurs downwards is also not Premier League quality, so would be interested to know the 14 teams from elsewhere in the football pyramid who you think are...
