The LEGO LEGEND OF ZELDA Great Deku Tree has been officially revealed! In this video we go over the details of this new set, work on the massive LEGO city tables, and place the LEGO Star Wars UCS General Grievous.

How is that worth even close to 300$... LEGO keeps pushing the limit on how far they can mess with their clients

Be $200, maybe $250 max
White gaff tape would stick. It’s tape used for stage sets and for some electrical work especially on film sets. It is cloth on the outside and won’t leave residue at all. I use Pro Gaff. It’s expensive but well worth the expense to me. It comes in tons of colors. The rolls are big enough that you can tape the whole length of each side of your tables. It’s also great for taping down cords to carpet and floor. When you do need to pull it up there’s absolutely no residue.
Additional thought. Pro Gaff also comes in gray so you could use that on the edges. It would look like the substrate under your city as you build your underground.
That price is ridiculous. If it were cheaper, I'd get two to build both styles, because I love The Legend of Zelda (but not enough to drop $600 on two lego sets).
$275 and I'd do 1 of these for sure. $250 and I'd do 2 for sure. As is? I'm going to have to wait for a 2x point day. My next 2x day is committed to Rivendell. So the fall 2x day will be either this or Barad Dur. Went from 4 to 5 to 6 shifts a week, running ragged already...
Honestly I'm at the point where I hear the price tag and just stop listening to reviews. My brain is having a really hard time justifying these purchases. Still love building lego but the purchasing of new lego is getting tougher and tougher to justify.

I love the top of melamine sheets but the edges are not easy to deal with. Tape will not stick, don’t even try it. If you use the iron on edging it will always peel off randomly with use. The most long term solution is to paint it. The material will soak it up like crazy so it will probably take three coats but if you use high quality paint it will look good and last forever.

You can buy yourself a Nintendo Switch or the Lego Set. I would choose the Nintendo Switch.
The Lego Set looks interesting, but the price is way too high. In general the Lego prices are about 30-50% overpriced.
I watched Star Wars A Mew Hope for the first time last night and now I am so jealous of all your star wars sets.
You can apply 2-3 coats of white paint on the perimeter of the tables. I've done it in some of my closets and it's clean. The melamine absorb a lot but the perimeter is fast to do between 2 tasks.
He plans on adding molding on the outside so needs no paint as he will be using glue on it.
@@Bigdog1787 He just said at the end that he wants to put white hockey tape instead of the moldings. I think paint is a better option than tape.
@@Patrick_Bureau ya was not quite done seem he's changing his mind to much. Tape won't hold for not long for sure. Even the iron on stuff is not great It's best to just use hardwood molding with wood glue + pin nails.
If you're worried about the table being "squared" properly, if you have long enough tape measure you can measure the 2 diagonals and if they're equal then you're good (don't have to measure the inset of each edge to the frame all along the edges).

Tape won’t stick, why not just paint it white. Grab a chair with wheels and go around and dab it with white paint, it’ll soak up quite a bit so go around once lightly and then do it again. Few pieces of cardboard easily move around the floor to prevent drips from getting on the carpet.

Are you going to put a curtain around the bottom of the tables? It would clean it up so much and make it look better.

Lego rarely makes a new mold for just 1 set, hopefully many more sets will start to use those. Seems easier to build bigger trees with those rather than the small leafs. Hopefully in near future can get them available on bricklink or maybe even have them on a PAB wall one day.

How about 2 to 3 inch tape and have it start on the top and end up on the bottom? The top will disappear under the base plates and the bottom is... well... on the bottom. Then you have a clean edge both ways...
I hope we get more (and hopefully less expensive) Zelda sets soon. Would love some diorama style sets based off the 2D games
Good day. Jordan. Yes the new zelda set. New about it comeing just seen pic s all over the internet of it yesterday ..zelda fan s from 70 s 80 s orly 90 s be happy. It look s kool. For some reason tree s with face s are. Trippy but kool at the same time. The mini fig s are. So cute.
As a Zelda BOTW and TOTK fan, I love this set, especially the minifigures and accessories, and the koroks all over. I like that you can animate the great deku tree.
I wish the set was cheaper though, should be $250 or $200

Great Scot what a table! You probably have to stay 100% Lego for the program, but my favorite builder at Brick Bash 2024 told me he got all his baseplate at Dollar Tree. I went there and grabbed the whole box, left 3 or 4 on the shelf, and bought 15. I only had maybe 20 baseplate before that. It really helped me fill my own 4x8 table and still have a budget for sets. I'm a classic 2d Zelda fan, but I have played BOTW and like the Deku Tree. Steep tax just adds it to the wish list for now.
Sorry you had to see your Oilers lose in person. Hopefully they can bounce back. I’d like to see them go all the way.

The tape on the edges is a great idea.
At one point you maybe could try to wrap LEGO around the edge and bellow the table, thus encasing your tables in LEGO and the added abilities of having a LEGO ceiling on your subway system.

Studio is looking sick. Good move going forward just placing buildings and leveling tables as you go. I think that will save you time in the end. I was a huge fan of ocarina of time, before Christmas I got out my old 64 for dex and I play some old games, we've played Zelda the most. Looking forward to this set.
We needa video of everything you could buy thats more worth the value at the same price as the zelda set.
Don't use electrical tape - it will get all gooey and peal off very quickly after you put it on. You might be better of with White sock tape for hockey shin pads, that's assuming it will stick to the particle board.
I have a the same idea but I think all tape will come to a gooey and sticky stuff... I realy think a simple roller with white paint will do the trick.

I promised myself that the Daily Bugle would be the only expensive LEGO set I’ll ever buy. So no Rivendell, Barad-Dur, Deku tree. The highest I’m willing to pay for a set is perhaps 200$.
Jordan you can use a velcro curtain p to cover the tables and you can use it to keep stuff with a more polished look

Seriously. These ultra high dollar sets used to be more exclusive-now it seems like, across their line up, they’re doing 7 to 10 a year. Heaven forbid if you collect multiple series of Lego.
I’m predominately Star Wars and modular buildings, but when Rivendell got released, i got it. Now the tower, kinda want that too. Plus rumors of helms deep or Gondor next year. I like the 1/8 scale technic cars-got 4 of them. Those ain’t cheap at all. I’m terrified we’re going to start seeing 5000 pc, $500 modulars.
It’s becoming a lot. Sure, you don’t have to buy, but you get an 18 month shelf life and then they’re gone. And geez, buying retired sets can be brutal. Collecting Lego is getting really hard.

Man I'm a huge Zelda fan and it looks like a great set but I'm also Canadian, so paying $400 for a 2500 piece set feels awful, the price for this set is insane so I'm really on the fence here.

That escalator is a massive bottleneck at the end of the game, last time i was there the staff wouldn't let me sit in my seat and wait for it to clear, i got the get up and go just to shuffle and worry about my personal bubble

Once you get all your Lego off the floor you ever gave any thought about getting a robot vac. You would be able to set a time for it to run over night and always come in to clean floors

This is gonna be a must buy for me. While I'm not a big Zelda fan, this is still a big W for LEGO and gamer fans and hopefully a step in the direction of more video game focused sets or even a Zelda line similar to how LEGO has started an Animal Crossing line.

You will never get it "perfect"! Wood is a living material and will move and warp.. Temperature and humidity have a big impact on it, and that is why it will never be perfect..
i was worried when i saw the legends of zelda set i thought it was coming out June first along with barad-dur so i would have to chose but since its coming September first i can get both

Bummer about the Oilers loss. I went to a game there once when it was still the Northlands Coliseum and Gretzky, Coffey, Kurri and the whole amazing team of champions was there. It was really awesome. Not a playoff game though. Hoping they'll win the Cup this year! Let's go Oilers!

Been a huge LoZ fan since I was young, I used to make custom Link minifigures and MOCs from Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask and play with them when I was a kid. Kids now a days have so many good gaming brands in LEGO form that I only could dream of back then 😂 the $300 price tag is a bit heavy but I’ll have to swing it to feed my inner child.
