Hi everyone, welcome to the channel! I'd like to clarify a few points about how I wrote the tab. In order to make sure that the positions on the neck and the fingerings were very accurate, I analyzed a 1994 live video of a Pantera show in San Francisco. (Pantera-29 April 1994-Live at The Warfield, San Francisco, CA, USA) There I could check the proper strumming pattern for the main riffs. I also noticed that most people (including me prior to making the research for this video) are playing the 2 heavy triplets from the main riff in the wrong spot. Here you have Dime's strumming and fingerings transcribed accurately. (see at 18:07 in the live video) For the breakdown heavy riff, Dime is attacking every chord when playing it live, however I can clearly hear the slide on the record so I tabbed it the way I hear it on on the original recording. Also, when playing the breakdown riff live, Dime arranged the second overdubbed guitar with 3 pinched harmonics. On the record, I clearly hear the overdubbed guitar playing octaves so I stuck as close as possible to the original recording for my tab. For the solo, this live video has a pretty good view of Dime's fingerings so it was pretty straightforward. Dime was changing the solo a little bit live, as usual but the core of it is identical and the positions are very visible here. One important point I noticed is that the last phrase (when it gets a little shreddy at the end) is played with a symmetrical pattern (Dime used to love those like in the CFH and Domination solos). Most people play this last fast phrase with the right notes but not in the right spot. The ascending lick is actually played with three notes per string using the pinky for a little stretch. (see at 19:59 in the live video) I hope you'll appreciate the effort I put into analyzing all this to provide you with the best possible tab that this song deserves. Keep coming back for more videos. Getcha pull !!
Thanks, man. I put a lot of effort into making the proper research before I write or record anything. For every video, I check live videos where I can find proper positions on the neck and fingerings, only then do I start making the tab and filming. I’m glad the efforts paid off. Thanks for your continuous support. I really appreciate that 🤘
Together they are a brutal musical masterpiece. Guess it depends on how u define heavy. There's a video of Pantera doing Floods live and it's dark and heavy as shit. Not a hard or grinding song, but HEAVY
Yeah, Floods is like really freaking dark and beautiful. It’s got that really heavy riff with the whammy bar pushes. The whole Trendkill album might be my favorite Pantera record tbh. It used to be CFH when I was growing up but the more time passes, the more I see Trendkill as my favorite.
@@frankevega thanks, man! That’s when the drums switch to the part with the ride bell 🔔. It’s so efficient and to me, it always sounded like the bell from a boxing ring 🥊 I am pretty certain Vinnie thought of that too when he came up with that huge ride sound. 🤘
Hey man, thanks for your comment. The hand cramps might come from a super tight grip on your left hand. You gotta be aggressive on the picking hand and kinda relaxed but precise on the left hand, if that makes any sense. Or just pour yourself a blacktooth grin before you play it! 🤘
@@Highrollinhunter yeah his tone and his playing were crushing. Dime praised Hetfield many times for his downpicking skills but he was a very humble dude. He was untouchable. Gone 20 years ago today 😔 Getcha pull!!

These videos are so good, bro. Literally the perfect example of what videos like this are supposed to be.

@THEDAILYRIFF Awesome! Really haven't played any Pantera in years, time to knock down a black tooth and turn it up!
In the man’s honor 🥃 🤘
Beautiful, many thanks!
Thank you 🙏 🤘
Sick cover. Every time I play this song i get hand cramps in my left hand by the time I get to the breakdown. Guess i need to stretch more.

Man that downpicked chorus riff is still heavy af thanks to Dimebag being a god on guitar I think his downpicking is better than Hetfield

@@PhilMeadJams thanks, man. Awesome cover of Slaughter and really cool Joe Duplantier guitar 🤘
Is this in D standard?
Hi, first you gotta change your tuner’s A reference to 425 Hz instead of 440 Hz, then tune to E standard.
440 or 425hz ?
Hi, 425 hz. I wrote it at the beginning of the tab but you probably didn’t see that.
