Pinterest is my go-to for inspiration. I have so many different boards with tons of materials saved for reference and inspiration. I find it to be one of the best and underrated tools for artists.
Whenever I experience burn out, I try switching mediums. Having to change the way I approach art based on what media I'm using helps reinvigorate my love of the process of making art and to experiment more. I try to appreciate what I like about certain mediums and remind myself of how much I can still learn.
I’ve been in such a burnout since I started working. It’s so hard to find the motivation to draw some days. And it sucks because I really do love art and drawing but I just can’t do it. It’s really frustrating. How do others stay so motivated and determined all the time???
I'm an architecture student who is currently dealing with one of the worst bouts of burnout I've ever felt. This was such a great little exercise for me to relax and reset. Thank you so much for sharing your insight, your videos are so calming!
I always do studies. I find it easy because it means I don't have to come up with a concept. And to be honest, I can never really think of anything to draw anyway :/
I totally agree with "Don't stress out if your art isn't coming out how you want it to/how you're hoping." When I'm feeling generally uninspired, I try to think of something that sounds fun to draw. There's always SOMETHING I can find that sounds interesting, even if it's totally random or seemingly pointless. I also LOVE watching other people's art videos, as well, to get inspired. Those two tactics are always effective for me. I think it is okay to step back, if you feel you need to. Maybe do a few small doodles a day if you're busy or down, but make them totally pressure-free. That way, you're drawing, but it's low-stress and doesn't require tons of effort from a tired brain.
It was nice listening to you, and I found out that I am in fact rather stressed right now. It's very unpleasant, but we are humans, not robots. I usually doodle or practice in case of burnout. Sometimes working on a completely different skill helps(programming, chemistry, physics...) as well.
These are all really great tips! My methods for coping with burnout are doing quick gesture drawings, because they don't have to look good, you just have to get something on paper, and just having a list of things that I like drawing! Lovely video as always, can't wait to see what you work on next ^_^
When I’m feeling burnt out I do lots of pen doodles. Sometimes I’ll draw people I see but other times I’ll just write or get random doodles out of my head. The thing about pen doodles is that because they’re pen doodles you have an excuse for why it didn’t turn out the way you want it to. They can be really messy and quick which is very therapeutic to me
I love your work. I find you very soothing to listen to and you keep inspiring me to draw and do sketches in my sketchbook inspired by your work. For instance, I just doodled my own version of the sketch you did of the girl with bangs completely covering her eyes. Love that piece.
Such a great video full of awesome advice. Inspiration can sometimes be so difficult to find, and burn out can be so frustrating. I really appreciate this video. Also, your art is beautiful!

Hi Sophira! I am watching your channel for a while now and I use it for inspiration. I am not good in drawing but I always like to practise when I saw one of your videos. Now I have a name for what I am doing: I doodle. You do a great job, go on! And can you make a tutorial about how to draw real horses please? I doodle my favorite animals too and I want to learn how to realize them. Thank you!
When I get burn out, I find it’s best for me to go out and do something or even stop and do something as mundane as housework. After that I will come back and do figure studies, or find buildings and landscapes to paint or sketch on Pinterest. I have also found that if I start my morning by doodling my coffee cup I feel less intimidated by any other sketch or piece I plan to work on that day.
This video was so helpful! What edition of DnD do you play? I’d love to hear about your character as well! I play 5e and have two campaigns I’m apart of, one as forest gnome rouge and paladin, the other as a tiefling druid.
Hi sophira! I really love your art. I have a question, though. What do you use to record your videos? I can't find a tripod that will fit my desk or anything.
Right now I have been in a really bad "burnout" for over a week, and how ever much time I take to try and draw something, it doesn't come out right. Even my OC that I have been drawing perfectly just a week ago, now its all bad. Im thinking about quitting my art craze that I have.
I've been experiencing a year-long burnout and it's wreaking havoc on my self worth as an artist. I'm trying to fight my way out of it by forcing myself to draw but i always start a project and then never finish it. Can't even look at it. Anyone have any motivational tips?
Aside from watching videos and finding reference on how to draw things, collect images of art you really like as inspiration and think up of some ideas, draw those ideas out on a daily basis and your skill and style will develop over time
This isn't gonna make sense..i LOVE making art but I'm not that imaginative. When I get blocks (often) I usually study figure drawing vids or go to one of those drawing prompt generators on tumblr

i'm in love with these sketchbook sundays :) It's so relaxing. And I would absolutely want to see a sketchbook tour:)
What cures my burnout is seeing my drawings when I was so inspired.
This was a nice video to wind down with before bed.

i love everything in your sketchbook! i can see you are comfortable with what you draw, and i really love your ideas! thank you for your tips
If I don't know what to draw or paint, I take out my watercolors and do pulse and precision exercises and it is really relaxing.
I go on some random character or creature generators and then I just draw...it might not be perfect afterwards but it’s still drawing 😂😂

You're such an inspiration
I get so many ideas of things I want to draw or paint but at times lack the motivation, so I am wondering how do u stay motivated to work on pieces?

u better not have given up !!!
@@kn3knight649 It’s been a year since then and I think you can guess what I did.
I have one week to create a piece of art for a competition and every time I start it everything goes wrong
For some reason, I'm not having issues on ideas, and my art is coming out fine when I actually do something.
I just wanna draw anime all the time
Thanx i feel pretty motivated T^T
Use reference it helps
Woohoo,new video❤💖
If I can't think of anything then I generally do some figure drawings. Doing really quick ones really helps me warm up.

did you ever get out of it?
@@toasto lol not really but I'm still trying at least 😂
I draw things that I don't know how to really draw like backgrounds or animals when I have art block
What if I just can’t draw in general
