Magic was gifted a finals MVP in his rookie year that belonged to Kareem. However, Kareem was unable to play in game 6, which was the clincher, because he had a severely injured ankle from game 5. They wanted someone there to present the MVP trophy to, and Kareem's ankle was so bad, he didn't travel to Philly for game 6.
LynReacted, so the Legend was added to a 29 win team, took over and led them to a 61 win season and the playoffs, couldnt get past Dr. J and a loaded 76'ers team, but 2nd year they did and won the title- Bird should have bern league and finals MVP that year, Boston doesnt get there w/o him and his unselfish team play... 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
You show respect but there are people out there your age that call Bird trash . No matter what team bird played on he would have made a difference. Just look at the Indiana team for example. 33 and 0. Indiana State went 81-13 during the three seasons in which Larry Bird played for the Sycamores. reaching the 1979 national title game with a 33-0 record. In an effort to stop Bird, Bradley coach Dick Versace installed what was referred to as the "Bird's Nest Defense," where two defenders would guard Bird and the other three defenders would cover the four other Sycamores. Bird took just two shots that night and made both, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, while he helped teammates Carl Nicks and Steve Reed score 50 combined. The only way they were even there was because of how he played. But he only had 19 points and 13 rebounds. And was playing with a broken thumb. Which you never hear him make excuses for. Bird was definitely a different breed and I wish more young guys would realize how incredible a player he was. Great reaction ❤
I Don't Get Your Thinking That Larry Don't Have A Mid-Range Shot, ha ha ha. No He Just Had Everywhere Shots. He Lived Off Mid & Under The Basket Shots. He Didn't Take 3-Pointers Every Game. His First Year Is When The 3-Point Line Even Came In. He Became The Best 3-Point Shooter In His First Four Years. He Didn't Grow Up In High School & College Shooting 3-Pointers. But Yes He Took A Lot More Mid-Range Shots Then He Ever Did 3-Pointer's.
That game still hurts Bird. His biggest regret.

Bird didn't make Maravich retire..Maravich's injuries and physical condition did.
I saw Bird play. He's in my top three for sure.

Good last point about whether Mchale would be as good w/o LB.
As much as I love LB, I think Magic would also get the most out of a Mchale on his team.
Rookie Larry took the Celts from 29 wins the year before he joined to 62 wins his rookie year..that was a 32 game turnaround.

He’s probably a top 20 low post player.
What are you talking about? Bird has the beat or one of the best midrange game of all time
Magic didn't have outside shooting.
