What good memories You've done some excellent preparation with some really solid training, and I'm really sorry for you that you weren't able to make the most of the race, but don't give up, I'm sure you'll get there. And the result will be even better
I do a similar marathon simulation back to back to 2 weeks out from a race. 2 x 9k @ 42k effort w/ a 1k float. Example: first 2 x 9k session is the simulate the first half of the race. I start a bit slower. The day after I do another session but slightly faster. I still have carryover fatigue from the previous day. I practice fueling too.
Do you think 2x10km at marathon effort is a better workout or 10km slightly slower followed by 10km slightly faster than marathon effort? Seen both in training plans
2:22-2:23 in Berlin will be good result. I thinking you run to slow and too high hr 2x10 km to run under 2:20 . 2:20 maraton is under 3:20 per km . But im ipressed how profesional you are ! Im not talkink only to talk . My pb is 2:19 😀good luck !
3:25-3:26/km for this workout would indicate 2:23 probably, if it were done at seal level… but at 2200m altitude- we probably lose 10sec/km. it’s much harder up here. I’d guess it’s the same as 3:15-3:16/km at sea level. Before I ran 2:20 I ran them in 3:19km in Boulder at 1600m elevation (much lower elevation than here).
Ok , i forgot about a 2000 altitude 😀 my fault ! good look ! Is ran Berlin in 2011 . 2:21:42 with visit in toilet in someones garden at 37 km and 35-36 were about 4min/k , because i was looking for toilet 😀 i eat energy gel on 22-23 k , i shoudnt do this , because ive never ate enegry gel while training 😀I could run there 2:15 if i was i half profesional as you are ! I think i Lost my chance in my best age. Good luck! I think you could run 2:15 but you should progress your speed at 5-10 k race. Wish you good link . Im watching you for 2 years .

Seriously though, the Superblast is a fantastic long run shoe.
Gotta get them hills/strides/VO2 max reps in, to avoid becoming monopaced! 😁
Good idea
damn angus fit
Already said it in Strava , but have a great race next week in Berlin 👊
Thanks John!

Great video! Was just wondering what you was using to protect the old nips at 13:15?
strapping tape
I cut small squares of kinesiology tape. Works a treat. But then you have to take them off 😂

How many minutes did you take rest between 2 laps ?
1km, I guess at whatever effort you need to hit your target on both the reps.
Oh my I see Oscar!!!
Oscar is the man!
S/O ben is running 15:40
Ben is running 🙌🏻
Eat chappatis Matt - you've been told
