- In this video I make a small vase from extra resin I had mixed for a larger project. I made this vase specifically to hold some flowers that were made in a previous video. Links to both projects are below. I hope you enjoy this video, please leave a comment and a thumbs up! Thank you to all who watch.

If it’s not the “safety police” it’s the “technical police” chiming in. Thanks for all your skills and being willing to make and share them.
Yes it seems so doesn’t it. I don’t advocate wearing gloves at the lathe but wanted to point out what these were. Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful little vase 🌞
Thank you Ray, I appreciate it!
Very beautiful piece. The shadow on neck played tricks on eyes 👀 .
Thank you, it did show up strangely! I appreciate you watching!
I'm not really in to resin, but that vase is absolutely gorgeous. Just gorgeous! 👍
Thanks Carl, I really enjoy making resin and burl pieces. This was leftovers. I appreciate you watching!

Sorry I didn’t make the premier but you have a beautiful vase here. The design and color go well together. Very nicely done.
Thank you Doug, no worries on the premiere buddy! I appreciate you watching
When I was a little girl, my Grandma sent me a plastic vase, with lollies in it. The colour was a marbled effect, with white, and a green very similar to your resin. I kept it for years, and it gave me great joy! So seeing this lovely vase brings that to mind, and makes me smile. Thank you!
That is a nice story Stephanie, thank you! I appreciate you watching
Great shape and nicely done. Thanks again for the inspiration. Cheers.
Thank you I appreciate it!
Great work Lewis loving the shape
Thanks so much Barry, I appreciate it buddy!
Love the color
Thank you, it was a from a commission and they were specific about that colour. Thanks for watching!
Very nice; I really like the shape
Thank you Mark, the lady of the manor loves it. Thanks for watching!
nice peace great job
Thank you! I appreciate it
GREAT VASE LEWIS .I LOVE THE COLOR FROM DOUG
Hey thanks so much Doug, great to hear from you buddy!
@@TheKlondikeCraftsman good to see you too my friend hope you're doing well and staying safe. From Doug
I’m doing alright Doug, how are you making out?
@@TheKlondikeCraftsman wishing I could get a video finished up here pretty soon. Been so busy with work I can't get anything done.
I figured you were very busy. Looking forward to it when it comes out!
Love the shape, great job. Not my 1st choice of a stand alone color, but I understand using up excess. Nicely done.
Wes @ Piedra Designs
Thanks Wesley, check out the original project and see how this colour looks with burl, it was sharp and was the customers request. I appreciate you watching!
@@TheKlondikeCraftsman you're right, that bowl looked amazing!
I meant no offense with the original comment, it was a general statement about my color preferences. I'm trying to experiment with colors, as otherwise I would make everything black, if I decide to add color. I know that the customer is always right, even if they don't want black🤣!
No offence taken Wesley, all good buddy
never seen anyone turn the way you do, pushing down in incremental sections as seen around 4:18, but it’s incredibly satisfying to watch.
I only do that in resin as a rule, it is the quickest way I find to remove material. It is satisfying to do as well! thanks for watching!
That is beautiful Lewis, the color is extraordinarily pretty. Haven't fmdine any epoxy turning yet.
Thanks Jane, the original piece was a commission and they were specific about the colour. Resin is fun if you don’t mind the mess. Thanks for watching!
I especially like the shape of vase. It's prefect for those flowers. I also really like and appreciate how well you always explain things.
Thank you Marjie, I appreciate you watching!
Love the shape and colour of this pretty little vase and looks so beautiful with the roses!
Thank you Kathryn, I appreciate it!
Nicely done! Interesting to see what the excess resin was from??? Keep the videos coming watch every one
There is a link to that video in the description. Thanks for watching Chippy!
nice one Lewis! those flowers look really pretty in it too.
somehow, i had missed the video of the flowers being made, so, i went back and watched it. theyre way cool also!👍
Thanks Dave! The flowers were a big hit!
@@TheKlondikeCraftsman i can see them being a VERY big hit. I know a young man who makes roses out of metal, and he sells out as fast as he can make them!
Didn't know if you were making a brandy snifter glass or a vase - until you started coring the bottom of the brandy glass (!). Guess that one way to save to r-azz-in if you screw up the other intended carving.
Could have been a brandy funnel! thanks for watching John!
When I first saw the title of the video I was expecting it to be about doing something cool and innovative with all the resin shavings you turn away instead of what to do with an over pour/mix. Great idea and love the color and final product.
I have done some resin turning and just threw away the shavings. Is that what you do too or is there some unusual thing you do with it all?
I find that the shavings are virtually colourless when you recast them so I do not recycle them into projects. Thank you for watching!
Nice vase Lewis. I was wondering if you have tried wet sanding resin to get a similar finish?
Cheers, Rick
Thanks Rick. I have tried wet sanding and find it much more time and effort for the same result.
Are those negative rake carbide tools? What brand do you use? Thanks so much for your videos! I can only imagine how much time it takes to produce these!!
They are Easywood tools negative rake Amy. I appreciate you watching
