They need to crack down on people who stay on the left lane and drive below the speed limit as well.

Also, to your point about going one over: there can be errors over time with equipment used: so pulling over someone for going over 1 mph is a waste of time for the courts. It is seen as an jerk move by the police officer - and of course, it is. It is also not the spirit of the law to catch someone going 1 over the speed limit. It's intended to catch reckless drivers going over the speed limit. Also, it's easy to claim that either the speedometer was correct, the speed gun was uncalibrated or due to noted physical limitations of the speedometer.

Speed does not kill people. Not paying attention to the road and other vehicles is what kills. I can be going 15 MPH, but if I'm not paying attention, I will crash, and that's what's happening; it's not because of speed; it's because drivers are not paying attention at all. Other countries drive way faster than us, and they don't crash as much as we do here in the United States. Crashing is not an accident because it's preventable if you pay attention to the road and other cars ahead. Just like a gun doesn't just accidentally go off, you don't accidentally crash. It's negligence.

@@slapshotjack9806Comprehension isn’t your strong suit is it? He’s saying speed alone doesn’t kill people. Take a long stretch of road in Texas///Arizona where it’s just road for miles and miles and the speed limit is say 60 miles per hour but someone decides to do 80 to 100 MPH. No one will die from this unless he hits someone.

“The concept of speed limits is nothing more than government overreach and an excuse to steal your money in tickets. A safe speed is relative to the conditions of the path being driven. For example, most freeways could safely be driven at 100 mph or more in the fast lane”

I see to many incompetent drivers who pose way more of a threat than speeders (senior citizens, people on their phone, unsafe lane changers, people sitting way to close to the steering wheel etc)

This is absolutely a laugh! The police speed just as much as others if not more because they know they’ll get away with it. Start cracking down on your fellow officers from breaking the law and maybe we’ll see a big difference!

What about the other 51 weeks??? Do the Police take those off?? It's going to take a full court press by every policing agency in Florida to provide corrective enforcement of the rules of the road. Get moving on that today. And for phucks sake, can the "Sheriffs" stop interjecting themselves into national politics. You're there to enforcement traffic laws among other laws on the books. FOCUS!!

Well, while your at it let’s keep this up permanently!
Also while you’re at it, let’s crack down on speeders, phone users who are driving, drinking and driving, driving slow in the left lane, driving while high, road ragers, driving a large trucks like semi’s and dump trucks in the left lane, not having a license and insurance, driving with only a passport or nothing at all because they don’t even have citizenship, drag racing, not even trying to use turn signals while crossing ALL the lanes to make a turn, etc.
As someone who has worked in insurance all of these things if handled properly would drastically reduce the cost of insurance.

in my experience and what's funny, is that dangerous drivers are usually not the ones speeding. It's the totally oblivious people who are half asleep and on their phone. All while sitting in the left lane. Obviously speeding at night or during inclement weather is very dangerous and where a lot of crashes happen.

They need to do something along I-24 from Clarksville to Nashville, TN. About a 45-50 mile stretch, mostly rural, but ranks #5 in the USA for one of the deadliest interstate highways. Every week there is a major crash and it shouldn't happen.
