I never thought of the PUD as a multiplier within the store, but makes total sense!! This is a total game changer if you are trying to build something to ultimately sell; and most are.
Sorry for the late response. We buy our bags from Cleaner Supply. However, we charge based upon weight. A lot of reasons for that. Nylon bags do stretch over time and this way you just charge based upon what the customer needs, and sometimes they give you a whole bunch of clothes and if they only had one bag, then they might not give you ALL of their clothes
We do one time pickup and deliveries at our laundromat, but we do offer a discount if they commit to a weekly or biweekly pickup. Price per pound varies throughout the country. We charge close to $2 per pound
How can you advertise your pick up & drop off launder/dry cleaners business to laundromats and dry cleaners stores? I know a busy laundromat in Austin tx and I see lot of laundry bags stored in a room for people to pick up. I could pick up and drop off for the laundromat customers myself
We are building DoorDash into the Curbside Laundries software so laundromats can schedule their laundry to be picked up or delivered. However, there is a big market in Austin and you can start your own laundry pickup and delivery business. If the customer orders through YOUR customer portal / web app, then YOU own the customer and can build up your business and potentially outsource the laundry to someone else or do it yourself. The money is YOUR relationship with the customer. Otherwise, it is a job, not your own business.
I own a laundromat myself. How did you promote your pickup and delivery service. I’m having trouble getting the word out. I did Facebook ads but did not get any new customers out of it
We are adding about 100 new wash and fold customers per month. We'd be happy to share our strategies. Feel free to schedule a chat using this form: www.curbsidelaundries.com/demo
Good question. Our software allows the customer to schedule the pickup and delivery and it takes in the customer's payment information, which the software keeps on file. After the clothes are laundered and folded, then we weigh the clothes and charge the customer based upon the dry weight. The payment needs to go through before the clothes are returned.
We do have self service, it is an 8,000 square foot laundromat. Our pickup and delivery makes more than all of the self serve put together and then some. We are in the 6 digits (gross) with pickup and delivery and 5 figures in self serve. The self serve is a different market, different price point. Without a strong web presence, most in store wash and fold is barely enough to cover the attendant. But with the right online presence so people can find you, then it unlocks the potential
We have 5 trucks and 1 laundromat. But we started off with a diesel Izusu Trooper. Don't let the cost of a van & wrap stop you from picking up laundry.
You need your own website or we can make one for you. The customer schedules their pickup through the app or website and also takes in their payment information BEFORE you pickup the laundry. Most of our clients have laundromats, but many are mobile only and use someone else's facility.
Sorry for the LATE response. We got burned by people not paying when we were using pen and paper. Now with software, we keep the customers' credit cards on file (It is PCI Compliant) and they are charged as soon as the laundry is completed. If the payment does not go through, the software automatically e-mails the customer with a link to update their credit card information. The clothes do NOT get moved to the driver's list until the payment goes through.

💯% agree Matt. Pickup and Delivery isn't for everyone but for those willing to put in the work, it's insanely rewarding. Good stuff! Keep going ✈️
Whats the name of the app
Awesome information, I now see why pickup is more profitable. What kind of bags do you use to measure load sizes.

Do you charge the customers first then do the service or you wash the clothes the charge?
