Been using the elites all summer, especially the brown trout, been working really well, but i took off both trebles and replaced with one VMC inline hook, crimped the barb. Nothing worse than seeing a trout with a treble hooked in it's eyeball. Just food for thought and my hookup rates have not suffered
@fishkrazed it's the VMC 7237 inline, #4 size. On Amazon it's "Rapala VMC 7237". Using those hooks on the CDE55 Rapala. There really are not that many smaller trout where I go, maybe 8" being the smallest, so the #6 hook might be good for smaller trout? Or a #8. Unsure if replacing the hook affects the lure action but I think it does not? There's also the 7237 CB, coastal black, those can be bought in smaller quantities the "Rapala 7237" i could only find in 25 or 100 count packs. Kinda confusing. I'm still new to fishing on a regular basis have fished for years but this year being the most consistent, but yea these have worked really well. And for whatever reason the process of swapping hooks out is satisfying lol
@@PittPens6866 I’ll check them out man. The only thing I could think of that could affect the action is if they take into consideration the weight of the treble’s when looking at the sink rate. I’d say it’s minimal though.
Great video again been using rapala countdowns for over 40 years and now the elite basically for all my stream trout fishing even leaving behind my mepps blue fox box happy to be going into fall patterns and looking forward to more videos cheers
@@nottgav I definitely think it’s worth it. And it depends, if they’re native brook trout I’d vote no just because the treble hooks could tear them up pretty good. If they are stocked brook trout, absolutely. They’ll hammer em!
Before the fishing video started you gave recomendation about water temperatura to take care about the trout But when you caugt the Small Beatifully Trout you threw it away like garbage Must be becuase of the size But biges ones you relesese them
I’m not sure what you mean there, all trout in this video were respectfully released. If you mean the first fish in this video, the first fish was a creek chub. Not a trout. They are not as delicate as trout, kind of a trash fish. I just shake them off the hook so I don’t have to touch them.

Absolutely. I’ve considered that myself. Just haven’t found a good option for it. What size hook did you go with?

The gilded brown trout color is without a doubt my favorite lol I try to keep the rainbow on me too, but it doesn’t get used near as much.
@@fishkrazed ty btw!
@@fishkrazed also is the rapala countdown in brown trout color worth getting and can these lures catch brook trout
