    God bless you for giving us an actual, to the point, tutorial, instead of talking for 8 minutes about the tutorial you’re about to do. Videos like this are part of what makes UA-cam amazing.

      Yes!!! I always try to keep the intro and body of my videos to a minimum and get to the point. I too, hate the long drawn out jibber-jabber. Hopefully my channel will have the reputation of "no bull". Thanks for the positive feedback, Nathan!

    I always run it for a min after Changing the oil then i recheck the dipstick. Like I do on cars and trucks when it's time to change the oil . The reason IS the oil filter is soaking up some of that oil . So to be on the money I recheck! Great video sir! 💯🙌💯💯

    Thank u for that EXCELLENT video. I have a new John Deere and it’s time for the initial oil & filter change a d I was concerned about doing it myself but after seeing this I feel like I can do it and not have to pay to get it done. Your video was clear, specific and well organized and executed.

    When you check the oil level, should you insert the dip stick all the way, then turn it clockwise to close it all the way, then remove it and check the level? Or, should you just insert it till the cap touches the tube without turning it clockwise, then remove it and check the level?

    • @PhilCrockett
      @PhilCrockett  5 років тому

      It's not significant either way, but I always turn the cap.

    Great video! However, I wanted to add that not all models come with an oil filter. I spent a good amount of time trying to locate mine (John Deere LA100) only to find out that my model didn't have one. Again, great video.

    Nice tutorial! That Fram 6607 looks to have an awfully small diameter compared to the stock filters. I use a Fram 3614 (or equivalent filters from different brands) for my engines. It has an identical diameter to the stock filters but it's a little less than twice the height of the "stock" filters they put on most of these engines (aside from the Kohler "pro" filter). I guess I'll take a look at the 6607 for the next oil change as they seem to be in stock at my local Walmart more often than the 3614.

    You tightened the old filter way too tight. Read the instructions on the filter. Install till the gasket touches then 1/2 to 3/4 turn. If you tighten as you did it will be a bear to get off next time or you may dislodge the gasket causing a leak.
