Jay - you wrap the tape around the threads BEFORE you attach the hose. It’s called plumbers tape -- it helps to prevent leaks at the threads! You can go back and do it, I yelled as loud as I could from Missouri but I don’t think you heard me!

Staying in any apartment in Paris for a month or so, with the ability to go out for exercise and essentials is far superior to what we’re going through in the US with this horrible man and his hateful family in our WH. We’re on the verge of major violence induced by trump. Im 70 and never thought we’d be going through this revolution. I spent first two weeks of this February in Paris only to return with cv19. The disease isn’t fake like trump and some of his supporters say. So wherever you are, enjoy your Paris dreams and its ok if we are a bit envious of Jay and other expats who smartly moved to France when they could. Thank

Even surviving the Cold War with its air raid drills and nightmares of whistling bombs as they race to the ground was preferable to having a traitor in the White House, along with his henchmen in the Senate. The polls have been closed here for 2 hours. So far I’ve stayed away from the news. I discovered Jay’s channel just as Covid was threatening to close Paris down for the first time. I think I’m gonna binge on earlier episodes to see Paris, and Jay, in healthier times. Stay strong and optimistic. We are Americans and we can, and will, survive whatever this election throws at us!

More projects for you: Scrub the grout in your tiled shower.You can use vinegar there too. Put some of the white tape that came with your new shower hose on the part at the wall before you screw in the new hose. Fits better, stops leaks. That bike is great! I hope you have a rack or big pipe to lock it to in the garage? Although it should be ok in your inner garage.

Vinegar and bicarbonate of soda down the plug hole overnight. Rinse with freshly boiled water. I do it once a month. Gets rid of of eugh build up if you know what I mean. Good idea to have lists. In lockdown from Thursday so must do something with my time too.
Yes. I work in the hotel industry and our rooms with showers typically have that issue with sewer gas. Your toilet doesn’t not because it has that elbow bend that keeps water between you and the sewer. Same in the sink. The shower does not. Get a rubber stopper. Even one if those larger flat ones to block the smell. You will never really get rid of it.
Coffee grinds down the drain isn’t a good idea. Old wife’s tale. They adhere to soap scum or grease. But vinegar and baking soda is s good idea and not toxic.
Checking off "to-do's" is so satisfying! A little runner's tip, add a splash of vinegar in your washer when you are washing your exercise clothes...it'll remove any residual funk.
Jay, the plastic flow restrictor was what you pulled of the faucet. In Us ( I'm a Plumbing Contractor ) will get rid of them all the time for a good pressure for a shower. Be well and safe
I keep a bullet journal (a practical one, not an art project) to keep daily to do lists, my schedule, and long term project info all in one place, and I add tasks after I've finished them too, mostly because it's dated so I can keep track of when I did stuff. On the list today is vote, and stand in line for an hour in a sub freezing gale. ✔

I forgot to mention yesterday, the round piece of white plastic you removed from your shower faucet was (I think) a flow restrictor, intended to reduce flow and conserve water use. They have a useful, well intended purpose, but they really suck. That is why your pressure was so much higher once you got everything hooked up.
Manitoba has declared code RED which is not total but we are restricted to interacting with immediate household only,I did steam cleaning and that feels good. Who knew cleaning a coffee pot could be so exciting.

That seems quite reasonable. I don’t agree with the French approach of limiting your hours of exercise and the distance you can travel. The German model seems reasonably balanced.

Since March I haven't been further than four kilometres from my building and only go out for shopping and the one remaining teaching job, I have So I have been very cautious because my partner is in a high risk group.
We have very hard water as well and just replaced our shower head. We also use distilled water for our coffee due to build up with tap water. So, I get where you are coming from.

Filtering your water to prevent calcium buildup - I bought a stick of carbon from a shop in the Marais called Fleux. Cost about 9€, lasts 6 months. Cheaper & more environmentally friendly than plastic Brita filters or bottled water. They deliver so you can order online. Also prevents an unsightly scum on the surface of your hot drink.

You simply put it into a jug of water (I filter 1L at a time but you can use a bigger jug) and leave it for between 2-8 hours. The longer it stays the better the filtration. After 3 months you boil it and then it's good for another 3 months (instructions in the packaging).

We have very hard water as well and just replaced our shower head. We also use distilled water for our coffee due to build up with tap water. So, I get where you are coming from.
How about installing a Pur water filter faucet. Easy to screw in and fairly effective for hard water.

They have said on french tv TF1 that we can write several attestations of 1 hour per day for a walk around 1 km or more to go to shop if necessary.
