It's quite interesting how the concept for both those 2 characters work. There's already been enough info on characters the Mishimas, Hwoarang, Paul and the Lei in which alot has come to closure with their storylines.

However, some of them do a shit job of finding the balance between believable feelings a robot bears and actually acting like a robot. Xenoblade 2 comes to my mind when talking about this, because Poppi's appearance and act is being too close to a real robot running a more simple program to ever have believable feelings at that state. Alisa is more convincing imo, because Bosconovich wanted a recreation of his real daughter, so that he really paid attention to detail of her acting like a real human girl - next to these order-programs for Jin, of course.
It wouldn't have really filled the void left by his real daughter if Alisa acted coldly like a machine. But it must have been hard for him to turn her into a war machine, I don't think he wanted to do this in the first place but he probably was forced to turn her into a fighting machine, obediant to Jin.
We humans tend to have a soft spot for A.I to display human like emotions moving past their programming to make them more alive... it makes them so innocent

Alisa was also created by Dr. Bosconovitch but she was his deceased daughter. So it's kind of like Alita where she was also designed after a young girl, but stronger, more resilient, with a "heart" and a little bit of innocence and humanity still inside her.
