If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Highly entertaining and imaginative. Great video YM!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you very much.
cover the door handles, side windows channels, door channels truck bed to truck seem, front air dam, and side sprits. 10% drag
Does adding the design now make the windows bulletproof as well?
I have a 2019 in Silver as well. I am truly inspired by your numbers. I saw some fastback type caps that a company made.but it looks like they went under.. I'd love to get my hands on one of those!
You could bring those Honda Insight-inspired wheel covers way lower, that is the easiest way to add more MPG
Will try it again and maybe put aiming to make a bump that will keep the tape away from the wheels.
I love this. I'm on my second Ridgeline. 2017, 2022.
This is awesome! Keep up the great content.
Love this type of econo experiment! Great vid : ) Makes your RL look like my Prius (aka "Sipper"), so you know where I'm coming from. However, a Prius ain't no truck, and I'm seriously at this very moment looking to buy a used Ridgeline, the truck of my dreams : ) While you do give up access to the bed during this test, this could actually be very practical for someone making a long trip with a loaded back. I'm subbed : )
You are a mad man.
I would like to see a performance J-pipe added
Agree it is disturbingly crazy. Tangent question: with all the mods done, have you thought about what the best way to install under the hood lighting would be? That’s if you’ve thought about it at all. I’m thinking about it since I have installed the catch can and a Vcm muzzler.
Cool experiment
Great video! Try adding a bubble shape to the back of the tailgate.
Yuriy, wishing you a speedy recovery 🤪
😂
Add tape to the front wheels like you did in the rear.
Will do!
Lower the truck and lower the front air dam. Make the air dam as close to the ground as possible.
Excelent idea 😃
That is really a very nice upgrade in efficiency, too follow up you could bump up your tire pressure a couple pounds, possibly add a lower front valance or chin spoiler. Maybe a little more creative tape around your mirrors with a bit of a draft tail. The rear of the truck should give you even more improvements but they may not be practical but smoothing up the underside and leaving a air slot below the bumper ,(just for any wind pressure or water buildup) would help. A draft tail off the reat tailgate top that curves down the sides may also give you some more slip. I'm sure the front grill has already been wind tested during development but an inch off the top and sides may also give you what you need to hit 45mpg. Pretty cool stuff, send your page to "Aero cap" out of MI. They build a convertible cap for the big north American trucks with the gains your seeing , I'd think even a canvas style convertible top would be a great play. Awesome Channel absolutely envious. Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada.
you're funny! great job! BTC
I’m curious if just covering the bed with a flat board would have the same effect? Basically stopping the drag created by the open bed. Great video. Car manufacturers should be as smart.
I’ve got the OEM tonneau and hit 32 on a 400 mile run recently. Same trip last fall without it I hardly did 24.
for grins and giggles, try a truck topper. i was thinking the tonnue cover was good by itself.
What the heck dude no videos for a year. I have a 23 ridgeline love your content.
I’m sorry! I have more content to make but I am in between the selling my house and currently building my new home. So I have been set back for the time being.
Are there any specific things you are interested in and would like a review?
Probably the entire truck. I liked all your mods. But no worries man I get your busy so it's all good.
Funny. Maybe removing the A Pillar spot lights for the testing might help?
Yep. Most people wouldn’t have them on so that would surely help.
Add a low wrap around spoiler of some sort to the front. This can often improves aerodynamics.
Most electric cars have a solid grille but you'd probably mess engine cooling if you blocked all that off
Put on a better chin spoiler lower to the ground than OEM for better MPG !
get some under carriage shield, with poly or plastic material. 39 mpg is impressive.
A fun video to achieve or goal of 40.
You're on the right track with your duck tape job, but this time put the tailgate down, with the tailgate up, it causes a bit of a back draft on the flat side of the truck.
See how that works. 🛻
I think a bed topper that creates a "sportback" look wouldn't be too bad
To get 40 Yuri needs to look lower i.e. underneath the ridgeline to make the air travel smoother
Interesting idea. Extending the slope with tailgate down. 🤔
Yes. Do this. Rebuild the duct tape top with the tail gate down.
Yup that's D.A.D for you, ductape aided design
5x120 Volk te37s will make you have amazing fuel economy or any light weight wheels
Take off those fog lights and add a lower air dam. A smooth flat floor under the truck will help as well.
Wow! What an increase in mpg!!
Thinner taller tire that has low rolling resistance... also higher psi.
You'll get 40+ mpg at 65 mph or less with cruise control!
maybe change tires to highway friendly tread pattern
Take out the front passenger and rear seat, spare tire, and the side step rail. That would probably shave off 300 lbs. Take out fog light on top of hood. But all this don't really mater if you don't change how fast you accelerate from a dead stop, and how fast you drive it on the highway. Just a thought...I love your video keep it up :-)
Lowering springs, tape off the front rims. LRR tires. Narrower tires.
I been watching the solar races and so now creativity is flowing.
Hi, how tall are you? I am 6’6” and wondering if this truck is big enough.
You just need some resin and fiber sheets and youre in business
Tape the gap where the hood meets the fenders
You need to colaborate to some who can make you a fabricated fiber glass for that
Take out spare tire, and replace with tire repair kit. Replace oem muffler with magnaflow 4 x 9. Still quiet, less weight, less restrictions. Long shot, eco tires that advertise high mpg
I want to push the truck as far as possible before we’ve got reduction. That’s the final form I believe. 😁
What gases are you I live on the west coast I may not have the same gas
This is the Duct Bill edition.
Flex seal boat, now duct tape camper.
What brand and kind of phone mount do you use?
This is the newer version of what I have. amzn.to/3Gq2Mtu
With almost 10 more miles to the gallon it’s well worth the price of all that duct tape.
Tape off the wheels too!
Remove some weight from the vehicle. cover or remove the lower fog lighs === take the step bar off one side at least.
Need a hard lightweight version. Tape is too soft.
.....I've heard of Duck Boats before but not Duct Trucks....
Still better fit and finish than a Tesla!
Not for a Montana winter!
Interesting experiment. But your sample size (number of miles driven) is too small.
Ima tell Elon
i should have bought stock in 3m before you started that project.
😂🤣😂
Are you out on good behavior??
Bro, you got way too much time on your hands, LMFAO
Weather is getting better. 😁
Make FIBERGLASS mold ?????
Would be heavier. But maybe if the concept pans out and makes sense.
wow lol
That’s what my wife said.
What are you smoking?
Just put tailgate down on highway…better fuel mileage and a better ride!
Tailgate down has been proven without a doubt many times to negatively impact your fuel economy. You create a significant amount of drag in the bed. The tailgate up creates an air cushion in the bed which air flows over it at higher speeds. What I’m simulating is just an improved version of a tonneau cover that hopefully overall more efficient over long road trips.
@@YuriyMotso “Mythbusters” proved it. Check them out on UA-cam in regards to it.
Yes, disturbing!
maybe buy toyota Prius. why truck?
Duct tape picup
😂😂😂
Nice clickbait with the thumbnail
You have too much time and ducttape on your hands!
I never thought a Honda Ridgline could look even worse than they all ready do!
Now you know!
You have wayyy too much time on your hands!
Ummm, No!
U sick at driving get out off the left lane cun t
Why on earth would you turn your truck into a cheap ass elon mobile. Everyone knows Teslas are for poor people.
