What does this mean ? I feel like I’m my take back I Keane over the ball too much and I create a million compensations in my Downswing. Would this drill help?

Hi there so I've noticed my husband has very similar swing and foot work like Scottie, and this video illustrates what he struggles with hands in the wrong position and right elbow to close to the body.Any advice and suggestions would help thanks.

You are a great wife, thinking about your husband’s golf swing. I’m jealous.

Is that why he slides his foot because he's getting his hip way out of the way instead of humping the ball (early extension)?

Scottie is right! Never ever swing across the line of your right trail shoulder plane.
Regardless of club you use always keep your upper trail arm aligned directly under your trail shoulder plane.
Whenever you allow yourself to swing over your trail shoulder plane a million of compensations in your swing needs to take place.
This is the absolute secret of the golf swing. Cheers

      Jack Nicklaus did

You can do it, but it requires a timing move in transition to slot the club. Guys with an across the line move are powerful. Think baseball.

@@canefan17 your right and with Christi Garcia Miracle OTT many golfers are now considering this as well.

I think you are misunderstanding what Scottie is talking about when he says "across the line". He is talking about the club shaft going beyond being parallel with the target line. I think basically what you are talking about is preventing the so called "flying trail elbow" that Nicklaus was criticized for until he kicked ass with it. You maybe talking about the 1 plane swing? Like Hogan? Where his right upper arm is tight against the ribcage at the top of the swing?

With all due respect. A lot of very good golf has been played with over the line backswings.
