Klingons were observed in the original series trying to sway planets to join their empire through persuasion and offering material aid in the form of weaponry, training and so on (to a stone age civilization at that). It's entirely reasonable to assume they'd put up propaganda for any system that could receive it.
The Algorithm isn't recommending this vid to people, even those entertained by Star Trek. Because it doesn't say all the usual money-making keywords ("click to like, subscribe, get notifications", etc). Or at least it's not saying them in a language the translate AI understands, lol.
This was very convincing. The child choir background score is what really sold it. I don't think the Romulans would make a propaganda film to facilitate empire-building. They like to do things the hard way. Bless them.
Not to mention, the Klingon "coat of arms" Flags is identical to the ottoman empire... something tells me they needed some sources for this one lol. I saw Communist influences as well which was what the original Klingons were based around sort of, but I do like the turkish influence.
volbound1700 Federation running-targ! The P'taqs and their madcap schemes against the Supreme Dignity of the Klingon Empire will be met with real muscle by the Warrior-first Klingon Empire! The Dear Chancellor will burn San Francisco in a sea of fire!
Klingon Empire. They stated "fine cuisine" as one of their characteristics meaning that under the empire you would have quality food to eat, or any food at all.
The lettering that comes up, it says "dominate" and "success" at 0:36. At 1:16, it says something like "The *relatively major fight-bottle?* strengthens the bet'leth."
The Breen were mentioned in TNG, though I don't know if we ever saw one in that show. They are mentioned as a species whose minds can't be read by Betazoids.
@jhaarbur To me, the Ferengi are a race that engage in economic conquest through trade and by embedding themselves deep in the economies of other empires so they can control them indirectly while playing them off against each other so they can make profit from their fighting (or at least they try to). That makes them unique since most of the other major civilizations engage in territorial expansion, even the Federation (though theirs is peaceful).
Yeniçeri, the klingonese word for janissary, means "new soldier, newly recruited soldier" in turkish. Ottomans recruited this class of soldiers, mostly from newly-occupied areas as klingons probably do i guess
What? I felt like "Middle Asia Turks meet Ottoman Empire". Klingon Propoganda seems entertaining. When the "Star Trek Online" published, I will definitely select a klingoln :). I know this is not related with the STO, but I felt nostalgic with this video. Hi from Turkey, and thank you.
Remarkable work, indeed. In any language. The Tal Shyar will be contacting you shortly about a Beta Quadrant campaign we have in mind for you. Don't try to leave town. ;)
@girlgarde, i agree, and that is exactly why it is so hard to place them compared to some other races. I don't think there was ever a direct comparison, but the closest would be the corporate world with that type of culture at the level of a fairly large and powerful country here on Earth. The other interesting ones, though, were this: Vulcans can be compared to the British, and Andorians the French.
The Klingons would save their battles for the planets with the spine to resist. Any planet which gives in without a fight isn't worth fighting. This film will help them determine which is which.
Not in the least...with a lot of these Star Trek races and civilizations, you can make general comparisons with traits, but there really isn't any direct comparison all together with the re-occurring and popular alien species. For one thing, the British could be compared to the Vulcans in how they have the world wide known features of being polite, explorers, and very intelligent.
@kitsune720, honestly, I think the Klingons were more the Soviet Union and the ROMULANS the Chinese...I know this looks like something from the Mao era, but I think that is a more accurate comparison...let me ask you all this, though, a lot of races can be compared to nations and politics, but I could never place the Ferengi 100%? Or, should I say, are they the 1% in the STU if you get what I mean? lol
@@andersforsgren3806 0:47 While drinking Turkish tea ,''Merhaba efendim'' that literally means ''Hello sir!'' in Turkish and right after that the speaker says Yeniçeri (Janissaries) while showing the Soldiers. Hope you know who are Janissaries. lol
@@arslanduha Yes Janissaries I know about quite basic knowledge. :) They were the core of the Ottoman empire army, in the later years they revolted and even held territory of their own. I ended up here a year ago, as I needed an example of a propaganda video - and needed a neutral example - since Klingons do not exist. :)
The Andorians can be compared to the French in that they fought heavily with the Vulcans in ST: Enterprise but ended up being one of the founding worlds of the Federation along with Vulcan and one of the main races among the UFP. Think of the conflict between Britain and France in history and the British and French exploration of what is today the USA and Canada, and how all that led to modern countries here? Plus they had their battlefields in N America beforehand, so that is the comparison.
No wonder they blew up heh, If you want to span a multigalactic empire you have to keep your subjects faithful - manhandling power and support can only work for Bannana republics.
@girlgarde, ya i agree. I think that would be the best comparison. I also thought myabe India, not in culture, but in how you could compare India's power in the world to today (or Brazil). The Ferengi Empire reminds me of a BRIC country within the Star Trek Universe. More powerful than other races and powers and growing, but still not like super super dominant (no offense to any Indians or Brazilians intended at all if you were interepreting it that way lololol).
The Terran empire were the villainous Mirror Universe version of the Federation where any Aliens present were slaves of the humans. If anyone needed neutering, it'd be them.
"We'll conquer you eventually. Why not reap the benefits today?"
i agree!
It just feels so chilling at the end
This itself gave the Klingons more insight and character than most official Star Trek lore sources

Kinda like the Belt and Road Initiative from CCP.
The remit of the old Department of Inspirational Media.
This deserves way more views than it has. Amazing work.

This is so much better than the Discovery take on the Klingons.
We are Pakleds. When we are far from home we like to drink Worf brand Prune Juice. It makes us go.
Unforgettable video, as Kahless himself. One of youtube´s classics.

Too bad Kang and Koloth aren't in this.
The badass trio. Jem'Hadar watch out when them dudes start rolling!
i love the masterful blendnof TOS klingon and TNG klingon culture and physical features in this
The “Merhaba Efendim” made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂😂 any fellow Turkish speakers catch it?
Klingonlar zaten Türk Klingolar Galaktik Türk Kağanlığını temsil ediyor
Yes yes
Arkada da "Uçun Kuşlar" şarkısı çalıyor zaten 😃 Askeri birim de "Yeniçeri" 😅

I'd love to see the Romulan transmittion. To perdition with the rest.
very well done animation, you really should do a series!
Sounds like an average day of what little television there is in North Korea.

That's an awesome style. I'd watch a ST show like that.
ther look like Space Ottomans, plus space Mongols (specially in the original series)
Should have been more glorifying the crushing of enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the Lamentations of the women.

They ain't so tough, I have one as a security officer. the amount of times the ship's been boarded is ridiculous. Even the Borg pwned him.
@Mark2k Hah! The Breen got mentioned twice in TNG before they appeared on DS9. ;D

@Mark2k I thought they were some species from two fictional tv shows within the star trek universe.
Who's watching this in 2020?
2022...QA'Plagh!!!
A "janissary" is a soldier that is not Turkish, but fights for the Ottoman Empire, if I am not mistaken. Kind of like a Turkish Foreign Legion.
Well, I'm sold. Sign me up.
I'd go with awesome klingons are badass you know
Nice, good job.
Be, have a romulan or cardassian version propaganda too ?
For the Empire!

I want to see the Romulan video!!!
That's official, i'm joining today !
Qapla'! Fuck yeah, time to experience some bij!
You gotta hand it to the Soviets and the Chinese: they made some really good propaganda films.
0:46 "Merhaba efendim"?
That's correct...
Good old Ottoman Klingons then (which obviously also fits the fanned out flags and polearms at 0:15)
Hahaha Türkçe. Çok iyi olmuş!
