45 yr trapper here, dont put urine by the bait holes!! How many times guys do this, when do you ses a predator piss around his bait attractant?? Great video, i also done this dscadss ago, until a prominent trapper told me same! Good set though!
Younman , One thing I suggest you do and I what I do is compact my dirt a wax around outside edges of trap , you don't want them to fell a soft spot until they they hit the pan then its too late , you want ground to feel the same up to the point they step on your pan . Just a suggestion take it or leave it but thats coming from 35 yrs of trapping predators . Kyle
One more thing I see your dropping bait on outside of your holes which will encourage yotes and foxes to roll , make sure you get ALL the bait/lure inside the hole only thing you want outside hole is urine. Just a suggestion Kyle
Hey! thanks for the good input and question... I have always done pan outward....but i've seen plenty of other guys who swear by and have arguments for it facing other ways...
"Terrifying". "Creepy". I'm trying to understand why a trapper would describe his quarry that way. Staking it doesn't matter? Your hammer claw looks a bit bent. So did the set produce?
There's always a sense of awe, appreciation and respect for the creatures out there....and to be entirely honest; seeing a 'yote up close in pitch black without knowing it was there to begin with will give anybody heebie jeebies... :) Also, yes my hammer is a bit bent, i've been needing to flatten/straighten it out for a while now...
You might be better off setting closer to the edge. Coyotes like to feel protected andca set in middle of clearing m8ght not producecas well as one closer to edge of clearing
I was watching a realized this was exactly 2 years ago aweaome
That’s a great lookin set! Nice job! 🙂👍👏👏
So did you catch anything in this set?

Love this! Hoping you will do more new videos this year please!
I'll have to try that.
How did it work?
why bed the trap with damp soil then cover with waxed dirt? If you live where temps drop below freezing, the tap jaws could still freeze down, no?
that's actually a good point, thank you!
Looks nice, did it work

Does the direction of the pan matter?
I noticed you had dog pointing outward
