Thank you for this video!! I had optical plugged in the back of my tv. I now have it in top box from Comcast and it works!! I have spent days trying to figure it out.
I have one plug in the rear of my soundbar and when I hook up to my TV I have no noise but we went from cable to direct TV does that make a difference?
Ok so this is probably a dumb question,but, if I hook up the apple tv to my sound bar, am I going to have surround only when using Apple TV or will it still come through the tv also?
funny as I'm trying to figure out something similar. If I connect my ProScan sound bar through STB I get sound from cable tv; however I get NO sound if I connect rca cables directly to my samsung smart tv.

@@BobMazzo no path exists, your RCA cords do not bridge/ backfeed into the STB, NOPE!
