Peter sings beautifully .....he has the great voice ....
Banda Chicago!!... marcou demais os anos 80!
Grande Peter Cetera!!
Peter Cetera: Probably one of the best vocalists ever. Why? Uniqueness.
Ther will never be a song as good as this & "Saturday in the Park" !!!
Peter sings and performs this song with such perfection ,he has the VOICE no one could EVER match !!!!!
Check out this version. ua-cam.com/video/oQUKQ9dh0FY/v-deo.html
@@BobWiersema I agree that Leonid and friends knock the socks off Chicago songs and that Serge's voice is incredible. Serge has the help of digital sound which was not availabile to Peter Cetara who had to use analogue sound
Yes, but did they recorded this with a phone 😅
Lier
Cetera always brings it
man , hit the notes nicely and confidently , great job Peter
Peter's last tour with the band.
They dropped the ball when they didn't make Get Away it's own tune.
I think they were trying to do a Beatles thing like Golden Slumber/Carry that Weight. Another beautiful song.
@@douglasthompson9070 They did fragmented songs through their career, how about a Girl in Buchanan, there's like 6 different songs in that one, most notable songs from that piece are Make Me Smile and Colour My World. Also Brand New Love Affair pts 1 and 2 from Chicago viii. The first part is slow then the 2nd part starts and it's rockin.
I've always hated that part of this song and I've always thought it was something Foster added to accommodate the horn guys cuz they always bitched that there weren't enough horns in the 80s music. Especially Pankow and some of Loughnane. But if it was a stand alone song, I'd embrace it yeah of course. It would be a great standalone song imo.
Tell me about it. Radio is far too scared to play these two, back to back. They just won't.
@@SuperFlanders123 I agree. On 103.5 in Columbus, OH, they will. Sunny 95 (94.7) will not; they will only play the first part. It depends on the station and the market.
The best part of this song is always cut off by the radio, can you tell I love the horn section.
I love the trombone!
Peter Cetera is one of the best singers ever!! Chicago would not have been who they were in the 80's without Peter Cetera. They won a Grammy because of him. Just saying. Love his voice!! 💖💖💖
The all time best version of this musical milestone.
Absolutely true , Peter is the best !!!!!!
This is so passionate and so perfect. Chicago can be so proud to have it’s own band and legacy. I have not been to Chicago. Hopefully I will come in 2014.
.
No one can't sang his song like he did or do it's pure and full of emotion soul and feeling with exact high pitch voice, 🤗🤗😍
I can sing that song
Jay heart in original key
No audible mistakes-these old bands were truly talented and great to listen to
Peter Cetera is one of the best ever. He made Chicago amongest the best of the 80`s.
Love how he gets into his emotions when he sings💜💜💜💜
Peter looks like David Bowie a bit here.
Cetera in top form here.
The voice of Chicago. The soundtrack of my life since 1971.
It just totally sucks that Cetera left Chicago! After so many years, the world just misses his vocals with those incredible songs. Such a tragedy.
I know, I use to look forward to hearing a new Peter Cetera song on the radio. Never going to get that feeling again. Very sad.
Plus from 1982-1984 was when his bass guitar sound the best it ever did.
Sucks more that Terry Kath died and this is what they became. Great song but man... The band was clearly not happy for quite a while before David Foster came in and breathed some life into it. I am thankful for the years the band survived with Peter. It is very hard for any band to stay together start to finish. It is extremely rare. And what Chicago was able to do for the last 50+ years and what Peter did after as a soloist is nothing to dismiss. It all worked out in the end.
@@psychodelicrock12which is funny because that is when David Foster recorded his parts for him because he didn't want to play anymore and just sing.
@@astubbornmick9656 I know, ironically, the band was more commercially and financially successful during the Foster years.
I love to hear him sing because he has almost perfect pitch, which is so rare. Incredible performer. I love to watch the videos of him from the 1970's.
Peter Cetera is perfection. He gets into the song. Donell is more of a showman, doesn't get into the song, doesn't make you feel it like Cetera does.
Without Peter Cetera, Chicago would not have won a Grammy
I tell ya what though when Jason Scheff took over with Chicago 18 and his song Will You Still Love me, I feel he can sing just as awesome as Peter could. Will You Still Love me is my favourite Chicago song and that is definitely Jason's song.
I totally agree!! Chicago is not Chicago without Peter Cetera!! Jason sings pretty good. But, he's not Peter Cetera. He never will be. Just my opinion.
@@joangentile2731 I get you! Had they really re-done the work to build around Scheff, the group would still be as big as the Eagles are today, or U2. Scheff was not better or worse than Cetera, but different vocally, more bluesy and Cetera was more of a pop/rock singer. The '86 hit was really suited to his voice!
@@GisherJohn24 I don't think so, not to me, anyway.
@@GisherJohn24 but nobody will never be as great as peter
Peter is still super talented...even though he's over 70 now. Will always love him and this band, up until he left. Those were the glory days. Wish I'd seen them back then.
Peter was like........Here I goooooo.....ima leave your asses behind lol
manjunk427 Thats so funny 😃😃😃
One of Peter's best performances. Everyone is still young and the rhythm is good.
Effortless power in Cetera’s high tenor! Imagine having to perform night after night like this whilst on tour!
リズム感😊バンドstyleグッド、❤会場音も気持ちいい。
Chicago and Peter cetera is awesome ! It doesn't get any better than that , add David fosters magic wow !!!
Pete came to a small venue in South Atlanta several years back. In an incredibly HOT summer! And Peter, of course was dressed, as always, impeccably! And his music was spot on, naturally!
It really sucks there's no decent live video recording with good sound of cetera era Chicago. This is where they peaked and there's nowhere near enough footage around of this band. Real shame
array s no you misunderstand me. I mean quality footage shot professionally not by iPhone ... Can you not hear how crappy this clip sounds? Chicago were never fully captured like other bands were around that time
There is, check out 1970 concert Live at Tanglewood. Their early days when they were really at their best!
@@rw3257 Great tip, thank you. I found this and am enjoying it immensely! :)

These people are extremely lucky to see Chicago live in concert at their very best! The lead singer continues to be amazing.
saw them in 84 in New Orleans
"Everybody needs a little time away"
I heard her say, from each other
Even lovers need a holiday
Far away, from each other
Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry
I just want you to stay
After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you, I promise to
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me I can't let go
Couldn't stand to be kept away
Just for the day, from your body
Wouldn't want to be swept away
Far away, from the one that I love
Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry
I just want you to know
Hold me now
I really want to tell you I'm sorry
I could never let you go
After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you, I promise to
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me I can't let go
After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you, I promise to
You're going to be the lucky one
(Get Away)
When we get there gonna jump in the air
No one'll see us because there's nobody there
After all, you know we really don't care
Hold on, I'm going to take you there
What a song. Ain't it the Truth
Rodney Jones yup, it was unfortunately.
David Foater
The young guy Jason tries to sing like Peter and he isn't bad. But there's only ONE Peter Cetera!
+Hector Ramirez At least part of the problem was that Cetera wanted to drop the song keys way, way down to where he sings these days. Somewhere there is a video of him doing "25 or 6 to 4" in E (rather than A), and it just sounds....wrong. A - Ab - G - Gb - F - E. That's a helluva drop.
+Hector Ramirez Some website published an excerpt of a letter that Cetera had written to either Chicago's management or maybe Bobby Lamm. You'll have to Google it, because I don't remember which site it was. Sorry.
I agree I love Jason but he sounds better in music made for him.
that is Peter
U know this is Peter right?
凄く曲調も滑らかで、物凄く良い歌だよ、
There's only one, unique, Peter Cetera. For me it was love at first sight, and sound. He's one man equally paired with his voice. He's still hot in his seventies. Love him! !!!
Soooo true , love him forever !!!!!
I don't know, I loved the chubby shaggy haired Peter Cetera. Not the pretty boy look!
Best version of this classic on UA-cam, hands down
Man Cetera's voice is amazing. Especially considering he doesn't sing falsetto like 99.9% of the time. I wonder how he ever did it during those days. This must've been some hell of a tour. I just wish someone would've posted a live version (With video) of "Hard Habit To Break" and "You're The Inspiration" from this tour. That'd be AMAZING.
Agree. Would love to hear those especially hard habit
@@mminjarez You can hear it but not see it. There is an audio only version on UA-cam. Just search for "Chicago Hard Habit to Break Live 1985" and it'll be the first result.
中3の時の歌。中学の文化祭で、先生たちが、Get Awayまでフルに演奏してくれたなあ。
Long story short - they should have kept Peter in that band. He is an extraordinary talent and they found out after he left!
He wanted to go. He thought he was bigger than the band and more of a cut of the cash.
He was ,they should have given him. what he wanted ,he's the best !!!!!!
@@billstout6159 I heard the other band members were the problem, not Peter.. he felt he wasn't heard.
Erik Stigter , I absolutely agree !!!!!
Peter Cetera was bullied all his life when he was in Chicago. The first incident was being attacked by a marine and that’s when they all started being the problem. And how do you make David Foster the producer, he is from Canada ffs. He deserves everythingZ
Uma grande cancão lembranças boas tempos bons qui não volta mais quem tá ouvindo em 2020 da um leike galera .
Great singer with great voice with soul and full of emotion with great music
That was the most badass version of Get Away ever!
This song is feet for the lovers break ups with tears and its break a heart
Those trumpets, man goosebumps!!
@2:54
Chicago sin peter cetera no es chicago!
Peter Cetera is one of the most handsome men I have ever seen, his voice doesn't hurt either. Love you Peter have for a long time.
Best Horn section ever.
Tower Of Power horn section blows these guys away.
bello bello piter cetera uno de los más grandes me encanta
Its the same as with Black Sabbath...without Ozzy no B.S. Without Peter Cetera it's not the Chicago Sound we love...we identfied all the famous songs from Chicago with his voice. And what a voice...I love it! Songs for ever! Thank you Peter!💋
I love his voice
Peter cetera tiene una vos hermosa!
So amazing !
I love Peter
Love ur voice peter ....very nice
Wow....this is around the time Peter decided to leave the group, "get healthy" and lost a lot of weight. He looks awful and sick here. He doesn't even look like himself. But no matter.....he was still the main star of the show and could sing like no other human being on earth. So fantastic.
Peter could never look awful , looks so cute in his red overall, he always looked like a rock star ,best looking guy in the whole group 💕💕💕
No, Peter left in the middle of 1985 after Chicago 17 album released.
Greatest song of all time IMO
Pessoas como peter cetera tem dom Deus o abençoe sempre
Peter Cetera was the voice of Chicago.
Peter Cetera was the greatest front man of all time.
They're a little heavy on the keyboards here. Loughnane, Lamm and Champlin, lol.
It's actually Lamm, Champlin, Loughnane and Pankow! but really they were Crazy with the keys during this Time.
和訳かなり適当じゃねえか
PETER CETERA, Espetacular, maravilhoso!!!
Cetera is a prime example of how a person's personality informs their voice. You can tell by the way he performs that self-confidence is clearly not something he lacks. Yet simultaneously his voice has a built-in vulnerability that contrasts so sharply with his self-confidence, and yet resides in the same space all the while. There's a fascinating complexity there that never gets boring. Lennon had a similar complexity to his voice.
Great insight and description about him.
It's difficult to make a case that Chicago is Chicago without Peter Cetera.
Also Danny Seraphin on drums... excellent player
Love the close ups... OOOH... That voice haunts me... Gold
I agree...there is something about distinctive voices. No matter how great the rest of the band is, I always fall for the voice. When the voice of that calibre goes, it simply "takes away the biggest part of (the band)..." So much has been written for the rest of the band, and I don't doubt their talent, but PC is one of the kind.
@@PragueImport Today's pop singers can't even come close to sounding as good as Cetera, he's the best.
@@lamarravery4094 True magic!
I love Peter Cetera! 😍😍😍
生まれて初めて好きになった洋楽が、シカゴのこの曲でした。
Amazing talent to be able to sing like that and play the bass really hard to do totally awesome 👌
This is only a tic below Stairway to Heaven! Bravo!! PS: the best video too
Does someone yell "Jason Scheff!" at 5:20? Scheff wouldn't join the band until '86.
The guys are reallyloving"Get Away":)
En realidad y con mucho, el mejor vocalista de Chicago sin duda alguna es Peter Cetera
How do you play the transition and "Get Away?" All piano/vocal/guitar sheet music I have is just for "Hard to Say" and not the fast cool stuff at the end!
superb, thanks
No one can think of other singers, it is only for Cetera...sadly. But Get away is fabulous 😀😀!!
Sheff, Arnel, Dertlanka, az yet all did great with this classic, but Cetera at his prime was immaculate.
Then came Karate Kid!
If Chicago died with Peter, they most certainly died with Terry.
"CHICAGO...it is to imprison thee in the hands of time, opt for the everlasting....where everything that doth not wither" Preserved.
I will echo Anthony Palin "Love the keyboard solo that replaces the violins at the end."
1:08 was that the cameraman voice? Lol
Bill champlin Voice the pianist and backup singer
Effortless flowless frOm the king of ballad
This Japanese translation is too bad,
Must say I'm sorry
lol
The soundtrack to my 80s youth
Golden Age of Chicago
Peter is so very wow outstanding
He really is , best singer ,best basset , best performer there ever was and still is till today Love him forever 💜💜💜💜

That first song is beautiful that second bit should a been kept in the can..
ピーターセテラの歌声が綺麗で最高の曲です。
それですね!!!
Peter Cetaro was a major contributor to Chicago 4 Sure!
Great solo as well.
Legend Cetera
É preciso saber viver lindo demais esse é pra sempre amo você até hoje.
Cetera was on fire here but what's up with that outfit? lol and the keyboards are such an 80s cliche. Good performance though
ramosfamilia , that's what makes him so different from the others he' always had his own style ,
@@patriciaarchie7822 He definitely was GQ after he left Chicago. He didn't look the best when he was with Chicago until Chicago 16 and 17.
Lamarr Avery I can't agree , PETER always had his own style and I always thought he was the best looking one in the whole group, especially when he got off drugs and cleaned himself up gorgeous !!!!!!
@@patriciaarchie7822 Did you happen to see him performing with Chicago in that UA-cam video from 1980 on the Merv Griffin show? He's got a funny looking haircut and he was wearing yellow, what was he thinking? He started to dress better after 1982.
Lamarr Avery I did see the video, PETER was a riot , but he doesn't seem to care what people think , didn't even try to disguise the fact that they were lip-syncing , one of the comments said he has a keen and clever sense of humor , that's why you gotta love him.!!!!
This cannot be January of 1984, this is the 17 tour. I would suspect this is 1985. Chicago 17 came out May of '84.
So handsome
I saw this concert at Madison Square Garden, with my younger brother Frank. Frank later toured with Chicago. Great Memory
Why didn’t Walt Parazaider play guitar on this song, Love Me Tomorrow, and Stay The Night during this concert.
Ahhhh..... The soul of Chicago... Luv it!
Cynthia Sanchez you said it , he's the best of the best , love , love , love him💜💜💜💜
Who sang 90% of Chicago's hits, not Robert, Not Terry, not Jason, not Bill.. Peter Cetera of course, he's the voice of Chicago.
Lamarr Avery You are so right !!!!!!
Hahaha the Soul of Chicago! It's Terry! Peter's the Heart!
