@@goharrisautomotive yes, I’ve TDCed everything with crank lock tool and cam holder locks perfect on drivers side but passenger side won’t line up. Had no codes or check engine light. Just annoying rattle
I hello great video I was getting ready to put my timing, cam tools, in One passenger side first, but I noticed when I turned the crank counterclockwise the chain is only moving on the passenger side. Seems like it’s jumping on the driver side…… Any idea what that can be?
So I put it at top dead center and got the cam locks in on the passenger side then I took the chain off and got the towns on the camshaft on the driver side I’m about to put the chain on tomorrow and hopefully everything goes smooth with the Revolution. Thanks for replying back.
Do you replace the crankshaft sprocket friction washers? I see that it is recommended to but I cant find them anywhere and don't see why it is needed to be replaced.
At TDC the crank is at 12 not 6 o'clock and the camgroove is 180 degrees out instead of level for the locking tool. I assume the remedy is reinstall the cams right?
Hi! Will you give me advice please. I have an little oil leak from under the timing chain cover (AJ34S XKR 2008). Mechanic says to replace timing chain cover gasket. For this action do I need to take out the engine? And do I need to disconnect the supercharger?
Outstanding video, you are a lifesaver. In the middle of tearing into a 3.0 SC. It's actually not too bad. Just need to have the timing tools.
Nobody takes the time to explain cam timing. Excellent video and informative as heck! Good video my friend.
Thank you
very professional experience job explaining the timing chains and settings thanks
Thank you
Excellent video I have a question. I’m doing a rebuild on my motor when you’re putting the pistons in the motor do you go by firing order?
Honestly, I don’t build engines. So I won’t know
Can I take off 1 chain at a time? I can’t get both cam locking tools on at the same time
Yes you can. Are you sure your cams are not 180 out?

Sorry, I meant clockwise
Going on the cams shud already be locked. If you’re coming off with it, it doesn’t really matter.

So if the camp is out how do you get it back in order

Yes we do. Call the dealership
Great explanation Sir. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Can you do it inside a Jaguar? Is it enough space? Thanks bro!!
Yes you can
Wish would have stated which cylinder is #1 for TDC, or crankshaft position for TDC. Thanks
TDC is cylinder 1 always on all engines

Yes your super charger will have to come off
@@goharrisautomotive Thanks! But what about the engine, come off too , or there is no need to replace the timing cover gasket?
This is process for the 3.0 supercharged right? And can it be done in car?
Same. And yes it can be done in the car
