As a simracer who got into the hobby around 2 years ago and just got a DD wheel 2 months ago my biggest issue is finding the time to build all of the cool ideas I have in my head. Up until recently I was making a pedal plate for my Simjack pros and once the plate was done I thought I'll have a day or two off from working on it. Then I looked at my DIY AMG steering wheel and thought "hmm. i have 3d printed paddle shifters. Why don't I make aluminium ones." And so I did, not even 12 hours after finishing the pedal plate I had started working on the paddle shifters 😂
Just finished watching. This rig has come so far from the simple triple screen rig which you used to have to now. Would be able to even tell it’s the same. Well done
great rig build walkthrough Alex, im just in the very beginning phase of building my own cockpit upstairs in the spare bedroom (got permission of the missus :) ), keep up the quality vids buddy.
Mate if you got the missus approval then that’s a big WIN! Thanks for watching mate glad you’re enjoying the content. Any questions at all during your rig building journey let me know 👍
Thanks for watching mate! No plans for full motion however I’ve been told really good things about the next level racing haptic seat pad! Apparently it gives a lot of good feedback on what’s happening with the car movement wise so I’ll be purchasing and testing it out in the future 👍
hahaha. Oils aint oils unless they're i30N oils@@alexkayracing Great vid. Nice to see how it came together. The button box made from cardboard! simple yet so damn effective. Shit looks on point
No it’s a good height! The camera is a bit higher than my eyes but I can see the wheel screen etc easily. I also have 1 hole left of the seat to go lower so it should be covered!
@@alexkayracing it’s not about the height but about the angle. In a formula seat you are not sitting down, you are laying down. Check out the new Sabelt P series rig and seat for comparison.
@@MaxnochWeniger thanks mate will check it out! With LMDH their seating position is in between a formula and GT position correct? Or is it full formula
@@alexkayracing Yeah it is in between the two but I would say it’s leaning more towards a formula position. The P series rig replicates it very well IMO.
Thanks for the video! really cool setup. but 1200 USD on the Safety Restrains isnt too much? im prerry sure one would make them using more like 5mm kraft foamboard to shape it and using vynils to cover it.
Hello mate! I wanted to thank you for your videos because they are a lot of inspiration and help me a lot. I also wanted to ask you if it is possible to get fl stl file from that wonderful structure. Thank you very much in advance
So great absolutely unreal job mate 😎 but I don’t think you really need a helmet to race a sim bro that’s a little to much wearing a helmet mate lol love it but!!
In VR people as viewers don’t get the same kind of viewing experience though 👍 it’s not just about me it’s about everyone else here too. Also VR gives me too much eye fatigue 😂

The work never ends for us does it mate 😂
QUESTION OF THE DAY: What hypercar and track would you like our next onboard video to be?
I would love to see any lmdh in Fuji

Thanks hugo really appreciate that mate. Also please stop killing your team mates in league races it’s really naughty 👌
Awesome job mate - certainly dedicated to the cause - love it
Thanks mate appreciate it! Yeah I guess we can’t help what we love hey 😂
Just STUNNING 🤩🤩 Massive Congrats Alex 🎉🎉
Thanks brother for all your support 🙏

This is just beautiful!
Thanks brother 🙏
Absolutely awesome work Alex 💪❤️
Thanks brother, and thank you for all your teachings in the past 🔥 I owe you a beer at the next sim racing expo!
@@alexkayracing well , make sure to be here next year man 😃
It will be blast to meet 🤛😃
Great job mate 👍
Thanks spotty looking forward to seeing you on track when they put Le Mans in ams2 🔥
Alex rocking that 100mph hair ;)
Extra aerodynamics, we race the Hypercar with no roof 😂
Great looking rig Alex! Any future plans on a seat mover or actuators? Love from Canada!

An Awesome Video Mate
Thanks a lot!
So cool bro ! Proper engineering 💪
Thank you bro really appreciate it! Thanks for watching 🔥
Wow great job bro
Thanks so much mate hopefully it gave more of an idea into how I created it!
A work of art honestly ❤
So are your button boxes Ariel, thank you 🙏
@@alexkayracing hahaha 😆 😂, yes ❤️
Great job
Thanks brother ❤️
Amazing! 😲
Thank you my friend 🙏
Brilliant man. Great job 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🏁
Thanks so much for watching mate 🔥
Your hair is so clean and slick. Do you condition and use some special oils to make it look so alive and shiny?
Yeah mate car oil straight from the Hyundai i30N 😂

@@2770monz it’s got that Hyundai sheen in it mate 😂 thanks brother i wasn’t sure if it would come out good but got lucky 👍
Looks amazing. What angle are you running on the monitors?
I believe it’s 38 degrees! I used the little carboard angle template that came with the bezel free kit as that’s the recommended angle for them
❤❤❤
Thanks brother 🔥
A formula position seat would be next am I right? The current one ist probably too upright.

It’s definitely possible mate but the problem is that with craftboard we would not be able to get that sexy curvature shape😍

Hey bro thank you for watching! I do not own the stl file but if you send an email to David Mullins (the designer) maybe he will send it to you!
What mods are you using in AC to make it look more realistic? I only have Sol but I'm wondering if there's any other mods I should get
Hey mate thanks for watching! That is actually going to be this week video! I’ll show exactly how to achieve what I got with only 2 mods!
@alexkayracing appreciate it, can't wait
What is the brand of the steering wheel, please? Nice video.
Pokornyi Engineering LMP-H !

I don’t actually use the helmet when I race brother 😂 that’s just for pictures/ cinematic shots lol
how do i buy this?
I had them custom made! The person who made them email is in the video description 👍
