Thanks for the review my Brother, Really good to see people covering this stuff as I'm an animator and I really need to make informed buying decisions based on well-researched reviews such as this, so you are quite literally, freely providing me with an essential service, all the best, may you become famous and make videos for eons to come.
Well I just got this for Christmas gift finally a nice tablet and it was on sale. I'll be using it alot in 2023 and beyond. Well time to study my TOAnimate my course and animate.
Awesome! Did you get the controller? Also I love my Wacom inkwell for holding my stylus. Does this have one? I also bought the Animation course! Can’t wait to join you! Do you think getting a pen display is also good? I have an Intuios and a cintiq on my iMac, but I can only use them far apart or one at a time because of magnetic interference. I like that one stylus will work on both devices. If Xencelabs made a pen display that didnt get magnetic interference I would be so there!! Otherwise I’m probably going to go wacom for an intuios cintiq dual setup for my new MBP.
From what I see on the Wacom official website, Wacom Intous M is about 380 USD, and the Xencelabs M + Bundle is about 360 USD. So definitely closer in price, but still seems like a better deal.
The XenceLabs seem worth it but I'm broke so I'm sticking with my old Wacom that cost like ~20€ that was given to me by a friend. Yes I'm broke as hell ^^
Their tablets are definitely not cheap! It seems more of a premium product, so if you're doing fine with your old tablet, there's no reason to upgrade :)
Man, it's time like this I sorta wish I live in a developed country. This tablet is roughly 3000 baht less than the wacom Intuous pro m, but still 990 more than my monthly salary. fark... lol Good thing is by the time I've saved enough for one, we'll know if there are issues with the built quality and drivers. One thing about Wacom is they last forever. I'm still using my CTH-480 pen and touch after years with zero problems. Knock on wood.
Interesting question. I'm actually not sure, it's a very close call. I have years of experience using Wacom, but only a dozen of times using the XenceLabs. That being said, they feel about the same quality to me. XenceLabs just comes with more gadgets, and at a cheaper price.
@@BrianKouhi I saw some other review mention that the creators of XenceLabs where discruntled Wacom employees, no idea if true. :v but if true it's pretty much wacom tablet + the things they wish they had, but without the wacom brand name markup.
@@BrianKouhi Thanks for your reply. I want to consider this as it’s wireless. My current is old wired Wacom Intuos. I guess Bluetooth headphone should be fine?
@@donalone the Xencelabs tablet has a dedicated wireless dongle that gives it a direct wireless connection to your computer and it doesn't interfere with other blue tooth devices.
@@michellemartorell6582 thanks. I found that Wacom wireless transmitter is highly unreliable. For example, when the receiver is behind the computer or far from the tablet the transmission will disconnect. How about Xencelabs?
As an artist I love the extra space since I can rest my hand on the area that's not the drawing surface , used tablets before that didn't have that extra space and it just forced me to use just the center of the tablet and speed up the wear on the drawing surface material ; that extra space is what's holding me off on buying the newer intuos pro models lol , holding on to my PTH-851

hmm... wacom reduces the price for the intuos pro M to 239€ - the xencelab M is 299 or 389 as bundle. which is now the better option? 😕

Yep that's true, they're expensive but tested over a long time!
Nice video! Does the driver crash with wacom driver?
If the price was the same, which one would you choose? Intuos pro medium or xenceslab m

For wireless interference, is your earphone using Bluetooth or a separated transmitter?
My headphones were using a separate wireless USB transmitter. Once I unplugged the USB, the tablet worked fantastic.

does it have linux drivers? if not its not a competitor lol
Hey angry teapod 😂, love the name, it actually does have Linux Drivers. Here's their drivers page www.xencelabs.com/us/support/download-drivers
I see they have linux driver on their website. I love this product. much cheaper and seems to have a great quality.

The drawing surface is very small. I don't know why they waste so much precious space and make it completely unusable.
That's where they hide the circutry that processes the data from the drawing area.
