Alex Bowman Is the Biggest MYSTERY Of 2024
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 січ 2024
- Alex Bowman is entering a season that, in all honesty, nobody knows what to expect from him. After a major injury in 2023 and a subsequent performance fall off many think that he can bounce back in 2024 and be a perennial NASCAR Playoff caliber driver again while many others think he will be absolutely irrelevant. For this reason Alex Bowman is the biggest mystery of 2024.

How do you think Alex Bowman’s 2024 will look?
pretty good
I think he’ll have a solid season and make the playoffs, maybe with a win in there.
Jimmie Johnson from 2002-04: 14 wins with the 48
Alex Bowmid from 2021-23: 5 wins with the 48
He will have 5 wins ( The most Out of anyone else next year)
0 wins but will point his way into the playoffs most likely as a 15 or 16 seed
As a fan of Bowman since he took over for Junior, the talent is there. He should have won Phoenix back in 2016. 2021 was a showing of what is possible. That back injury hurt him more than I think anyone realizes. If he's fully recovered from that, he should be good this year, especially since Mr. H will no doubt shift resources from the 5/24 shop to the 9/48 shop
Bowman was leading the points before his penalties and injury in 2023. He has potential to be formidable, BUT he hasn’t been consistent enough over a 36 race season to be a top contender.
No kidding even compared to Byron, he's always been less consistent imo
Biggest problems people glance over is he has missed 9 races in the next gen car due to injury. He missed 3-4 races with Blake last year due to penalties aa well. He had speed after his injury (when he had track position). When he got track position, he'd get into a wreck. Hopefully that team as a whole can get better this season. Prove they belong
The haters conveniently forget about his concussion and back injury, bet that none of them had ever broken anything apart from a broken heart?
It will certainly be an interesting season for Bowman but I’m more curious about Sam Mayer. There’s no spot for him at Hendrick right now and if he has another great leap in performance, he’ll have many suitors looking to bring him up to Cup.
When Sam Mayer won all those Xfinity races last year, I believe he’s ready to replace Alex Bowman soon.
@@HappyKarl095 good luck with that, bowman contract runs through 2026
@@supertornadogun1690that doesn't mean they can't replace him. If he makes it into 2025 they will probably let him go one year early.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld Doubt
I'm not certain as to what Alex Bowman's future season, but in the modern day, I can put him on the chaotic good part of the alignment chart. He's very much like Jamie McMurray was. Sure, he's not quite as consistent as his other teammates are, but when he does show up and perform, he can definitely put on a show. And if he's good, he can be damn good.
he literally was leading the goddamn points until his sprintcar injury ffs.....
I really hope Bowmans does well, if only for DannyB’s sake.
Me 2. I can see him winning 2 to 3 races and going to the round of 12 or round of 8
I really hope Bowman has a bounce back year. He’s shown he can break out having a great year in 2021 with 4 wins but the last couple years have been tough. Hopefully he has a solid season in 2024.
Lord please let my boy get a w this year
As a Bowman fan, I'm expecting a bounce back season from him. I'm expecting 2 wins out of him, especially if he ran how he did at the beginning of last year. He had flashes after the injury last year, just didn't get the result.
Pocono and Michigan could have been won
@@rylanniese even summer Atlanta. I remember he had a stretch during the summer were he could of won Atlanta, Michigan, and Pocono.
@@TSpeer07 extremely frustrating time to be an AB fan, I really do believe 2024 can be a bounce back year tho
@@TSpeer07 I remember going to the Michigan race and seeing him lead laps for the first time in forever, and then he just absolutely died
Not sure if this means anything, but Bowman's teammate, Kyle Larson, won the championship in 2021, and his other two teammates were statically the best driver in 22 and 23, meaning they would've won the championship if it wasn't for the playoffs format. so he has a gap to fill this year
I think the first few races of the 2023 season showed that he might have popped off like William Byron did, if only he didn't hurt himself. The 24 team clearly found something last year, and I think Bowman was on track to find it himself. The question is whether or not he'll find it again. The injury is a major issue, but I think confidence is the bigger one. If he thinks he's the third or fourth best driver at HMS, he'll be the third or fourth best at HMS.
Yeah if he hadn't got hurt he might have been a championship 4 driver.
Coming from a Bowman fan, his driving skills are there. He lacks the AGGRESSION. He is sometimes too conservative and it hurts him more often than not.
i think Bowman could prove over time to be a guy who’s capable of reaching the final 8 any year, idk if he’ll ever reach champion level, but it’ll all depend on whether this injury turns out to be a career killer or completely irrelevant in a few years
As a Bowman fan, cant see him ever be a champion, will just follow where ever he goes. The haters will hate, water off a ducks back to me.
If he underperforms again who replaces him?
My pick is Sam Mayer
Can't wait to see him on the front row of the Daytona 500
I think Bowman will get a couple wins next year and he’ll pick his consistency back up
I see him as an "anchor". If the other three Hendrick cars are out, 48 used as a back up. Some people may think I'm saying he sucks, but being a reliable back up isn't a bad thing.
Bowman has a performance clause in his contract if he doesn’t make the playoffs this year his contract ends at the end of 2024. He needs to make the playoffs every other year to make it to 2026. Insider information.
Whatever will be will be
I've always looked at Bowman as the Hendrix sacrificial lamb he's out there to test various things to help the other three drivers and I'm sure they're paying him good to do that cuz he might not have the ability to drive with the other three Hendricks cars regardless he hasn't shown that to me anyway and the other three are always excelling so he would be a great test model to be used to help the other guys set up their cars with different things that they'll try in his car to see whether it will help the others that's what I believe goes on within this organization that has more money than any other NASCAR team out there in the field with maybe they exception of Penske since he dominates Indy😊
Alex Bowman is a rich man's Steve Park.
Alex Bowman is in an unfortunate situation that I've seen with many F1 drivers. The great drivers make the good ones look average, regardless of whatever success those "good" drivers have. It's how you compare against your teammates being a vital focal point
Personally, I think Bowman will make the playoffs and have a 2014 Denny Hamlin style season
That is true and when you compare him to his teammates, he does look like the weakest link especially after 2023
It's fascinating how similar the rivals ( Bowman and Hamlin) are
Now that Bowman's finally won, I can say he's probably at %75 healed. He's def not the same driver as the start of last year but he's def getting there. Im so happy he won in Chicago!
So yall must forgot the most popular Driver Dale Jr was like the 3-4 best driver every year and was mid most of his time at Hendrick. Never heard people to get rid of him tho
Yea but he’s Dale Jr.
I definitely agree and hope he has a bounce back season. It'll be interesting to see how he develops chemistry with Blake Harris throughout a full season.
The big concern as an Alex Bowman fan is that the summer struggles aren't exclusive to last year. He almost always starts strong, and he almost always runs well in the playoff races, but for whatever reason, the summer months are a rough time. That needs to change if he's to take a step forward
if bro drove for any other team he would be mid pack
Bowman still has a long way to go. He's almost 30 years old, so I think he'll be winning plenty more times in the coming years
I love Alex and he represents NASCAR and team Hendrick in the best way possible. Go Alex.
This is his put up or shut up year
He almost won the 500 finished P2, but annihilated the field by accident.
Steve Park type career
i personally think you could put many other drivers in that car and they would perform better.
Gragson didnt, did he?
Those were some of gragson's first ever cup starts before his rookie season, all that was expected of him then was to bring it home in one piece and get some seat time.@@isleofthanet Bowman just hasnt impressed me. His victories come mostly from luck on pit road, someone elses misfortune, or wreck someone like he did denny @ martinsville (not a hamlin fan btw). Only time i can truly say i was impressed, is when he re-passed larson for his first win @ chicagoland. ever since, hes consistently been the worst performing hendrick car.
True
@dakotablackburn7975 He was leading the points before he broke his back, not to mention its pretty ubsurd how many times he's gotten unlucky. He was going for a top 3 at Pocono but got wrecked by somebody else. Also he was contending for a win at Michigan and got wrecked by someone else.
@@dakotablackburn7975there's also many other times he's gotten unfortunate. He really only has gotten lucky just a few times, and he's gotten unlucky MANY times.
imo even though Alex definitely wasn't the same after he came back from his injury I also feel he was just suffering from just straight up bad luck. between equipment failures and crashes it felt like it was almost every week. when he ran mid pack he was usually untouched but almost every time he had a good run going he got involved in an accident or had trouble of some kind. Pocono, Michigan, Atlanta. Darlington was his own fault I'll admit that. but all the latter half of the year since he came back it just felt like he kept getting kicked when he was already down. Really hoping he has a bounce back year.
Excited for new season of NWP starting in 2 weeks
2024 will be Bowman's return to form. He'll definitely surprise us.
While i to this day don't follow how Bowman got the seat he has, he's been as good as anyone can expect from the 3rd or 4th Hendrick car absence aside.
Going into next year, a win and into the playoffs and I think he's golden.
My only fear for him is if that back injury gets at him like it did Gordon. I know he's younger but that's still nothing to scoff at.
Whoooo showman bowman babey
I think people really need to remember that chevy will be on the back foot in 2024. Early season they will shine as ford and toyota work out there kinks. But I think after that they will start gettinf trounced. We have seen that any small advantage in these cars can bring a real difference. (Poccono 2022). So I feel like toyota and ford will be clearly better than chevy and one of the two get the championship. So I don't think we should set expectations too high for any chevy driver. But I think Bowman will have a comeback season in some aspect for sure
Makes me wonder what they'll replace the camaro with
I mean once the Camaro is gone the only two cars they will still have in production is the Corvette and the Malibu@@xavierjuno4572
Imagine the reactions of Denny Hamlin pulls off a Bobby Allison on social media lol.
@@bighand1530 by that you mean?
@@xavierjuno4572 A lot of people getting angry lol.
He's driving for best the organization in Nascar so hopefully Alex Bowman will have a bounce back year and go deep into the playoffs.
He’ll run mid pack in top tier equipment and people will continue to not give a crap
😅
I think Alex Bowman's 2024 will be Good. I expect Him to Win a Race or 2 and make The Playoffs and although I don't expect Bowman to Dominate like His Teammate Kyle Larson's 2021 Season, I expect Him to meet My expectations. How do You Guys think Alex Bowma will do In 2024?
It's just it at HMS. I doubt all four - Elliott, Larson, Byron and Bowman - will race in the team after 2026. Particularly I think Elliott will be the first one out. If I was him, I'm going to Rick Hendrick and telling him "Either me or Larson! I'm not racing in the same team with him."
This means Bowman might actually be a great in the future. Who knows?
Same
Hi Iceberg! I know you’ve covered NASCAR, F1 and occasionally IndyCar; Would you consider an IMSA video? Example: Why and Why Not You Should Watch IMSA
I think Alex Bowman (if he’s recovered well enough from his injury) will be the highest placed Hendrick driver at the end of 2024’s regular season. Might not fight for the title come the playoffs (more than likely to no fault of his own)
Bowman my be the new Johnson . He needs time
I think you're make very odd comparsions Hamlin wasn't the same guy after his injury but at least he didn't get concussed like Bowman. The McDowell comparsion also doesn't make sense. He's been in the sport for so long that he thankfully hasn't gotten injured. Bowman's situation is just different.
Alex Bowmid
Well, I'm really hoping that Alex Bowman can rebound from a dreadful 2023 season where he missed some races because of an injury and he's back in victory lane as well as making the playoffs again. All-in-all, in the end, that's all I've got to say, so goodbye!
Nascars Charlie Brown
I’ll say 2 wins all I just want is him to lead laps & not hover around outside the top 10 most of the races
It will be interesting if he can shake the bad luck and bad crew chief issues. If it was not for the penalty he would have still made the playoffs
Ofcourse Always Blame The Crew Chief 😏
@@ChicagoStreetCourseFanBowman was contending for a win at talladega and his Crew chief told him to block the middle lane when there LITTRALLY was NO middle lane.
@@hotwheelzvette959 You Know, The Words You Used,Bad Crew Chief Issues Those Are Massive Words,Is That All You're Mad At
I still think Bowman won the 2024 Daytona 500; based on view from in car camera when yellow lights came on.
It’s because he doesn’t he’s 3rd or 4th and then ask yourself who did he take over for? …He’s lost sponsors at Hendrick
He’s also not marketable like other drivers who do not perform example Michel waltrip
Alex Bowcrap is a disgrace to the number Jimmie Johnson was famous for in his 2002 to 2020 career
Daniel Suarez to the 48 in 2025, it will happen.
No, please no
Blud is not cooking 😭💀
I don’t see it
Sam Mayer with how he's won four Xfinity races last year is gonna replace Alex Crapman
@@Austin_Windric please yes 🙏🏻
Bro ruined my chance at watching my driver win in person. Hope he fails.
As a Bowman fan, I will say there is bias here, but I wouldn't be surprised by anything from missing the playoffs to a shock champ 4 appearance
I should probably add here that bload and I are friends and this is just friendly banter between us rather than pointless toxicity
Only a Bowman fan...
@@Bload72productions at least he backs into something other than the wall
@@rosscrashtain At least my back is still intact.
@@Bload72productions unlike Miami's barrels
@@rosscrashtain Oh wait who's been at HMS twice as long with less than half as much success? Oh yeah...
I’m not the biggest fan of Alex Bowman and while I do think he’s overrated, this is a fish or cut bait year for Bowman long term.
I think he will do better than 2023, but won't make the playoffs
He's by far the weakest link at Hendrick.
Don't Expect Much From Alex Bowman, Might Win A Race Or 2 Or 3 But As Usual Won't Make The Final 4
It'll be a make or break year
Yeah.
Disagree on the Hamlin statement. Toyota just had a really bad year in 2014, Hamlin carried.
The big mystery for Bowman is will he run the Pride scheme again like he did in Sonoma?
Seems to me his season went downhill from there last year.🤣
can't wait for Sam Mayer to replace this bum with his 4 Xfinity wins last year and more to come
As If Sam Mayer Is Better 😂
Alex Bowman definitely is disappointing
Bowman is washed up. He won't bounce back, especially knowing he's the 4th wheel at Hendrick.
I truly believe Hendrick made a major mistake re-signing Alex Bowman, but I guess sponsor Ally allowed HMS to save significant money by re-signing him.
As long as Larson, Elliott, & Byron continue to have priority at HMS, Bowman will be nothing more than a field filler on a team that deserves a better driver in the 48.
