I’m using it to break up unbroken sod. I couldn’t get anywhere with it at first either, but if you switch the inner tines (B and C) so B is on the left and C is on the right, it doesn’t have a problem. It’s figure 8/page 8 in the instruction manual
It’s not meant to be a full blown tiller. It’s a cultivator. It’s only meant to break up the top layer of soil. Also if you drag it instead of walk behind it it works much better
I've had this about four months and have found it to be an aggressive and powerful rig. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxjo0FLo5z3Y_qUcT3vSlOqpMaMdFjvsXa I've used several others in the past and the Sun Joe surpasses these, easily. I note that several people have commented that it bounces on rocky and compacted soil. I believe that would be the case with all tillers - the ground does need to be "broken", either with a larger tractor type unit or with a shovel, and rocks need to be removed. I'm living on a Pike silt loam here in the midwest and the Sun Joe turns my garden to bug dust in two quick passes. I use a technique where I do a short 2 foot run then pull it back and let it go over it again.
Need to know how long the battery life is. Need to know how much grass you are able to remove on one battery charge. The tiller is pretty tiny. Compared to a slightly large & heavier tiller, what would you recommend?
hi very informative video. i was wondering i just moved in a house that have have some ready made beds the beds had been used last year for planting will this work or be hard to tillup those beds before i run out and purchase one
I wouldn't say "it doesn't do a good job" as to say it it was made for it lol. It's only a 40v whacker with an extension. Yes it's made to break up smaller and probably lighter dirt. Works PERFECT for gardens yes, but trying to break year old sod of course that won't do a good job but can't put that on the tool in this case. It's built to whack and edge, not really made to dig but it really exceed my expectations just on this alone because this would make a good separator imho to do that, take the mower with the bag and pick up the grass.... reseed
Depends on the pole saw you have, if it’s the 18 volt 8 inch chainsaw pole saw, then no. If it’s any of the “expand it”models with the connection style he shows, it will.
It's a "cultivator" and not a "tiller". It's only good for already-loose soil with only maybe 1/2 inch rocks at the biggest. Anything else and this will be a disappointment.
The cat in the background owns the place.
a 10 pound weight for a 1" bench press bar fits perfectly on the shaft and really helps it dig in.
Good advice

I’m impressed and sold. Thank you for sharing.

Exactly
I just bought attachment. I used it for 5 minutes on hard dirt and weeds. I saved tons by not buying a gas tiller for my small jobs.
I bought this specifically for my garden, I used it yesterday and am so glad I did!
Still enjoying it?

Nice demonstration thanks!
Love mine on the 2 stroke for garden middles Actually i just hilled my garden by pulling backwards at a angle
I just purchased one the other day and put it together last night, will be using it soon
are you satisfaed?
@@stefistefi6069 absolutely yes
i got the 2 stroke model. that bastard will work a man like a govt mule!
This type of tiller is great for going between rows in a planted garden for weed control or flower beds in spring , not so much for fresh tilling
That's why it's called a "cultivator" and not a "tiller".
Good job dear
So beautiful
I have one already
These work great for removing weeds, I can weed a 16' X 38' garden in about 20 minutes.
That cat is HHUUGGERE

I believe it good for keeping a garden clean but the bigger one to break up the ground.
Also according to the size of your garden.

For smaller beds I think it would work fine
If I wanted to use this to take out large beds of grass for landscaping how well would it work?
Not very well. It doesn't have enough weight to really dig out sod and mulch it up

Mate I’ve a question, my land is a lil bit bigger than what you just filled in the video. My dream is to buy a tractor . Do you recommend it?
If your land is just a lil bit bigger get a walk behind tractor
@@chris-2496 I have already bought an old soviet tractor 80hp😊 it’s the most reliable tractors ever made
I have ryobi pole saw, can I attach to tiller to power it up?
Yes if it's a 4OV, or 2 cc or 4cc motor
Depends on the pole saw you have, if it’s the 18 volt 8 inch chainsaw pole saw, then no.

NOISY!
You should hear my gas tiller. LOL
What exactly do you expect from a power tool?
Compared to what? A horse-drawn tiller?
Drive shafts
Take two bricks and bolt them onto the top. The added weight makes it 5X better and less work on you.
are you serious?
@@ravmok846 very much so. Most tillers have the engine at the bottom. This has no weight down there so it would bounce around like crazy.
@@happydadto5 thanks
maybe adding barbell weights to the shaft would help with unbroken ground?
Thats a good idea. I am going to try a cinder block
You're likely to wear out the gears quickly if you do that

Sir I want this one I am in India how I get this one cost price
$99.00
Not very good looks like the battery will die quick
I know the edger kills a battery quick. So I could only imagine how fast this would kill one
If I get two to three rows in a charge I’m happy 😊
But why does it sound like a crying feminist?
