Ironically on another video I asked u to compare the afinia l502 to your c6500c and low and behold u got a 502 to review. How long till u open that up? I'm tryn to decide on c6500c or l502 asap. Thx
Super excited to see the results from the Afinia and especially the comparison between the L502 and the C6500 as we are currently trying to choose between those two printers. Love the fact you can swap between pigment and dye inks on the L502 but the L502 ink costs are more expensive than the Epson here in the U.K.
Alvalu Designs can’t wait to see your side by side. Have been putting off buying until I see your video haha. Went and bought the LC600 for cutter though that Daron mentioned on your podcast. Will be getting that set up and some videos done shortly.
Lucky Frog I’ve had some coatings from local suppliers. A particular 35mm sticker we sent them cost 1.1p per sticker on the the C6500 and 1.4p on the L502 so not a huge difference.
Curious to see what kind of life you get from the Memjet heads. We have a iJetColor envelope press and we’ve never gotten nearly the expected life on any of the Memjet print heads for it. That thing does print fast though. You’ll be shooting labels out like crazy real quick.
I know you want to get bigger and bigger, but I recommend getting as big as you can with just the 2 of you. As soon as you start hiring employees it gets messy. Just my experience talking.
I would love to know if you have any trouble printing black background full bleed labels. Ever get a mottled black on any of the printers? Any of the printers really good for this? Thanks!

I do believe the Afinia is more efficient and it comes with a calculation tool something that Epson wont share with the public.

No problems yet with full bleed on other printers but the blacks were never super rich and now I see the l801 and I can’t believe the color!
what settings do you use to contour / perf cut without changing the blade position?
we use about 1" down and .08up in the front position for both kiss cut and die cut.
What cutting software do you use on your cutter?

Does the dye based ink fade?
If outdoors it will fade faster then vinyl prints but there are ways to slow it down with films or coatings.
