Some of those matchups should have had their own full episodes, like Sei and Reiji vs Meijin and Meijin vs the Champion. These would have been amazing battles to see in full. I would have liked to actually see the battle between Rio and his master too.
This was criminally too short! This definitely deserved a full series. Still though, to see all of these awesome characters come together into a few episodes was simply amazing. The nostalgia hit so hard, I loved it!

After 10 years, Reiji and Sei made me nostalgic again, even though I was a little disappointed with the appearance of Reiji and Sei, who were not as amazing as the other main characters, but it was enough to make me shudder at their appearance.

As cool as it is to see Sei and Reiji back. I feel like Sei's characterization here was off.
Like it ignored some of his growth in the series and more so in the movie. He felt weaker than in movie. He was at least as strong as Meijin and Reiji both at the end of the movie.

My head canon is that not all characters are from the "end" of their stories, like for example why tf would Riku go back to 00 Diver MS when he has the far superior 00 Sky/Moebius (plus he doesn't look like how he appeared in Re:Rise) and the fact that Sei regresses to using an EG vs his already well developed RG system lol
Some like Fumina clearly goes full OOC (Embracing the sexy Fumina design that she clearly hates in last eps of GBFT).
The whole thing feels like a poorly written fan fiction
Dont forget that Masaki takes on his masked man design even though that caused him great pain in re:divers
This episode felt like a reunion with all your childhood friends, and everyone is there and we all were reminiscing about all the fun times
A shame we couldn't see everyone at their real age and appearance, but that final battle got the spirit of the Build series perfectly, the animation and drawings were fantastic too.
I called it. The fact that the Dive system from Build Divers Re:Rise was able transport a persons mind to another world would mean the possibility of Reiji returning could and did happen.
I know Plasky particles technically only exists in Arian now, but damn they brought Build Burning, Reiji and his wife over to Metaverse.

Sei and Reiji vs Meijin was the whole highlight, brought pure tears of happiness to my eyes. This series has brought everything I wanted and more in just 3 episodes. The only downside is that I have placed Rio on the back burner.
1 It's great to see Mejin to back on the battlefield, he's the best legendary Gunpla fighter 🤩
2 It's been awhile since Reji appeared since the Build fighters GM island with his Star Burning Gundam.
3 I'm Glad Lah Gundam reaches for newer hight's to surpass Lady Mask Sister.

I guess this show is going with the Smash Bros logic of "everyone and everything is just here, and there's no explanation for it." Even if we write off the characters ages as being "aged down avatars," Reiji never actually took the Star Burning Gundam in the actual Build Fighters universe, so if this is the same Reiji, he wouldn't be able to connect to the Metaverse with the Star Burning Gundam because he never actually had it. The Star Burning Gundam was modified into the Build Burning Gundam, which Sekai would later modify into the Try Burning Gundam. If every show was canon to each other, it would be impossible for Reiji to use the Star Burning Gundam at the same time Sekai is a Gunpla fighter.
As they say, Double episodes means twice the action.
Or the fact the CAD For all the Kits they were keeping under wraps got leaked and they lost 130 Million on their Investment
And yet all these action scenes combined were probably less than one episode of the original Gundam Build Fighters.
Really glad that I got to watch this, totally brought me back in time, gave me so much goosebumps and felt real excited when I saw everyone coming back for this series. So happy that I get to see these episodes before I go. I miss gunpla building so much but don't got the time and strength anymore to do so, hope in the future builders will really get a chance to experience this in real life.
The scene showing all the character from each series like Build, Try, Diver, Re:Rise and even the Breaker series is bringing me back so many good memories. The nostalgia is hitting so hard.❤

@@neaosmt1562 The only issue amongst everything here's arguably Sei being aged down (presuming he isn't just using an avatar based on his younger self), but considering all the methods of playing the same IP there are... the idea there'd be like 5 diff ways to 'Gunpla battle' in one universe isn't absurd at the least...
I hope we get another Gundam Build anime that's 12-24 episodes long in the near future! I really like the series!!

I love how the title is “try” for fighters try and “fight” for build fighters
I wish this show has like 20+ episode. With that much episodes, we could get a masterpiece once again. The character from each series will have screentime and their own portion of back story. And..not just appear out of nowhere.
The title can mean 2 things:
1.The literal meaning of "try and fight"
2.G Build fighters and G Build Fighters try

When Reiji arrived, tears flowed and a feeling of nostalgia reminded me again, no matter the bad story, the important thing was that I could see Reiji and Sei together.
I hope I can see Reiji and Aila again, in ss1 He just go back to Arian with Aila. And is make me fill like very sad, because I want the artist just give us the story of how they become a family, even when they give us the information that Aila and Reiji have a daughter, I just feel more greedy to know how they become family 😢😢

The plot with the teacher & her sister was a bit lacking & odd. I was more hoping we'd have more match-ups between characters from previous series while the main character watches, learns, & grows as his teacher reconciles with her sister during the after outro scenes.
Three episodes in & everything feels rushed. Maybe the series was short on production time & they ended up having to cram a lot in a few episodes instead of progressing over several episodes? I don't hate this, but I feel disappointed with what was given to us.
They really pulled a "somehow palpatine return" meme for reiji's return lol
It really felt like the First Episode was made with the intention of having more Episode, but clearly that did not happen. I still enjoyed this, but it could have been so much more.

This OVA series gives the impression that the Build Series is done. Hope that's not the case. I really like these
Shaldoll Rogue, Fake v Gundam, and ReZEL Commander Type at 11:31, Gundam Epyon at 4:00, Montero and GN-X at 4:02, Wing Gundam, Gundam Deathscythe, Shenlong Gundam, Gundam Sandrock, and Gundam Heavyarms
At least her apprentice was able to reach her heart through his fists. Not to mention returning characters duke it out. This is one of the best episodes so far.
Kinda weird they replaced the lady kawaguchi but the fact that meijin retain his title says a lot on how good he is.
Must have learned some thing from Master Asia and Domon.

The final amazing episode of Gundam Build Metaverse is a blast to watch. Better yet the whole OVA.
I only got into Gunpla and Gundam a couple of years back, out of the Build series I've only watched Build Divers Re:rise, seeing everyone's hype and nostalgia here in the comments has been refreshing and gladdening to see, and I agree that more of the match ups with old protagonists would have been amazing. I can't wait to see what the Build series brings us next!

@@fikrimuhamad8228It's still based on Real Grade, with implementation of "inner frame" like RG (RG Strike was released 2011 and Build Fighters broadcasted in 2013). EG system also reference to EG Strike Exceed Galaxy that produced by Bandai as Entry Grade series.

Mejin fighting the champ is something I always wanted it's nice that they finally found a loophole so all the characters can interact
I mean, Re:Rise takes place in the Divers universe, which in turn was heavily implied to be a future evolved from Build Fighters/Try (the villain's entire thing is that he misses the era of part damage and actual stakes, now mostly forgotten). The only real loophole was Reiji, which they completely handwaved.

Sei and Reji reunion done right. If you payed attention Reji Gunpla backpack saved Sei this is a throwback to the last episode of the first build series. Reji no longer has the time restrictions since he can connect to the Meta verse world on his own. Guessing this is Yajima Trading in the works since in this world everyone from the past series aged a bit. This series seems to have done right so far just want a longer series. Knowing this is a Gunpla commercial.
Im surprised that Sei calls Meijin, Meijin. In the Build Fighters series he always called him Yuuki senpai and it was the same in GM Counterattack OVA.

As much as I love this, it really is apparent that this is just a commercial for the Metaverse.
Like a story, lack of battles, and with so few episodes That's basically what it is.

SUBARASHI!!!!!!! What a glorious episode. With so many emotions, bursting and overflowing. No mere words could express this adrenaline feeling. However, Like all great stories, there is an ending.
IWAE!!! That was the third episode and final episode of Gundam Build Metaverse. Never before have we experienced such feels. Reunion with many faces, and witness such explosive and Hyper-escalating Battles in such a hyping tense series. Truly, it was a MASTERPIECE. And with this marks the final chapter of The Gundam Build Anime series' 10th Anniversary. But is it really the end? Does this mark the finish of a series or will the journey continue? The tense and excitement is still yet to come. Who knows what surprises await us Gundam Fans. Will there be another Gundam or Gundam series that can be just as thrilled as this? Till then we wait. Carry On, fellow Gundam and Gunpla lovers. Till next time, we will meet again on another exciting journey.

They're never going back to anything like original fighters. They will never go back to actual gunpla fighting and getting damaged.
It limits their ability to sell kits as easily compared to this virtual shit they've been doing. At best you get Sei and Reiji cameos but in the "virtual world"

Anyone else finding it fulfilling that they used all the bgms, mobile suits, and characters?? I love all the build series that I grew up with and seeing everyone all together for one last time just makes me feel complete!!

I can forgive the tissue-thin story as an excuse to bring back the casts of four seasons of Build Fighters, but It's still a shame Sunrise couldn't give this mere 3-episode mini-series a decent animation and effects budget. Surely for the tenth anniversary of Build Fighters it deserved something on par with all the other Gundam OVAs.
It was excessively self-aggrandizing with giant gaping plotholes too- Shouldn't Sei and Reiji be full on adults by now?
@@Bean_Soup The metaverse allows people to appear however they want, including as younger versions of themselves. That doesn't entirely get around the issue though - why would they, Sei especially, appear as their childhood selves. You're right that both are adults, and in fact they have been since Build Fighters Try, which briefly showed a partial face of an adult Sei. The epilogue movie for Try even features Reiji and Aila's daughter.
After watching this I may finally get around the watching the Build Fighter stuff.
