The Typhoeus itself needs a little bit of work but I love the look overall. Reminds me of the old Super Sentai/ Power Rangers designs/characters when not inside it's armor.
My roommate said it looks like something from Power Rangers when I finished the straight build 😂! I decided to use the leftover Raphael parts to replace the garish ugly injection gold and it looks much better.
the Reason why people go to 1/144 Scale Kits in Build is due to the Abundance of Spare parts and Ease of Maintenance Real Grade is in the Middle Ground since the Build Strike had a Scratch Built Inner Frame there have been times were other scales have been represented like the 1/48 Mega Size Zaku 1/60 Strike Gundam, 1/60 Exia, 1/200 RX-78-2
I say the main reason for them using only high grade models is simply because there are more than and the easier to combine than Master grades. And can you imagine the amount of length of a plastic there would be in a Master Grade build Fighters kit? Not to mention they would have to make a bunch of unique parts for each kid to avoid that
And every time that MG breaks in a fight, the builder needs to have spares of the entire kit to keep going to the following rounds. And many of the competitors are children. Maintaining a single custom HG and its multiple spares is already unrealistically expensive unless you're winning the gold.
canonically speaking there's just a different competition for MG. the Wing Fenice was made into a MG kit in the form of the Gundam Fenice Rinascita Alba, a MG-version of the normal Rinascita now in blue.

Wasn't there a Mega Size Zaku in the original Build Fighters? It was illegally added by the chairman himself because he wanted Sei and Reiji off the tournament. I think 1/144 is widely used in Build competitions because of the amount of choices available in the market.
There was a Mega Size that was used but I do not believe that was put in illegally. Also in a flashback in Build Divers, the protagonist used a Speed Grade to fight against someone using a Perfect Grade who was destroying everyone in the shop. So there’s no rules against the use of larger grades, and they are more powerful, but I believe the reasoning for them not being used is because in the original Build Fighters the actual kits would get damaged in combat, and repairs for MGs and PGs would just get too expensive to use them consistently
@djkidna I guess I worded that wrongly. There was a Mega Size registered in the system. The kit was on standby on a GP Base. But it wasn't scheduled to be part of the competition during that round. The chairman just added it to the field for personal reasons outside of his duty as the chairman to get rid of Reiji.
Maybe it is just me but i found the gun/hand being secured by the trigger brilliant as far as design goes. Will it hold up over time? idk but I do like when they try to innovate
Bandai did the same thing with Gundam Breaker Battlogue with the Live Lance Heaven and released Gundam Death Scythe Hell (tv version) pieces and then it was released as a P-Bandai later last year.
For gunpla battle in the Build fighters Universe, it's for ease of repair. It's harder to repair an MG over a HG so whenever the parts are breaking constantly, just get a few pla plates and rebuild the part you need to build instead of buying a whole kit. In team battles, you can use some oversized kits but then the entire team needs to use the gunpla, not just 1 person. For Build divers, I suspect it's mainly due to the size of the scanners used for online play. GBD scanners in divers can scan PG's but the scanners used for GBN are smaller and may require specialized equipment you are not going to find easily for HG
My biggest issue were the leg modules- the amount of weight hanging off of the hip joint makes them just hang limply. I wish the base came with some sort of supports for them!!

For the various grades in the build stuff, there's the battle in Re:Rize where someone breaks out a Perfect Grade Strike...Hiroto takes it down with a hastily constructed RX-78-2 (I believe an Entry Grade one at that), with commentary that most players use the HG (With RG and EG being there) because they're the cheaper option so most people use them because of the scale though RG's are noticeably more powerful than HGs...and the pilot of the Strike was portrayed as an asshole who tricked a lot of new players into the fight. It showed that the larger grade kits are larger and, normally, have their own events and contests that use them save for some free battles.
Wasn't an entry grade, as that didn't exist at the time. Rather, what it was, was a Speed grade (1/200 scale). The size of the speed grade likely played a factor in what would eventually become the original Core Gundam.

Actually i think the show doesn't exactly use HG its more advance than the RG with a better inner frame more like an MG but in 1/144 scale. There a scene in build fighter try where they show try burning gundam in a case without its armor and have a full inner frame. I think people generally use HGs for Gunpla Battles bcus its easier to maintain and/or replace. Also, beam weapons dont really care how big you are based on gundam logic.
20:55 i’m guessing it’s because high grades are easier to use, and are much less delicate and not as expensive than an actual perfect grade, because in Gundam build fighters having an arms split off from your Gundam, would mean you’d have to buy a second one just to repair that arm and if that’s a real grade you’re gonna have to be paying for like 50 bucks maybe 60 and I think it’s becausehigh grades are at least more customizable and away where for real grades and perfect grades are only suited for that type of Gundam
If wanted a backordered master grade like the GM Command how long would it take to get delivered? Sorry for the poor grammar I meant to ask how long would it take for a backordered master grade like the GM Command to become available.
honestly it depends on bandai, sometimes kits get regular reprints and some take years. i waited several months for some kits to come in to hobby link and they never became available
The Reason characters use High Grades is probably because of build & repair cost. We've seen MG and PG used in the Gundam Breaker games. they are bigger and stronger, but you're investing a LOT of money in something that might get outclassed by a cheaper HG. Meanwhile, in the Builder Fighters verse, and early GP Duel era of Divers specifically, the battle damage is going to burn a hole in your wallet when it comes to replacement/repair. in fact, we see Hiroto RUIN a PG Strike and the mess that was left behind afterwards.
so the only build series where RGs are used is Gundam Build Real. I haven't read any in-universe reason for the 1/144 scale (minus RG) and SD only being used. My headcannon is there are different leagues for the separate scales that the stories don't focus on. I know there are Battlogue episodes that have the larger scale MS (forgot if MG and/or PG) as (A.I.?) boss battle. The real reason is most likely based on what real life kits (HG and SD are plentiful and have the best ROI) Bandai can use as bases for customization or use a "new" build kit to release the base kit.
about characters Gunpla battle using kits other than 1/144 scale and SD, the Build Divers side story GM and Ball World Challenge and its sequel Genius Head Line is about characters who Gunpla battle using 1/100 scale kits from MG to RE/100, also in Build Divers Re:Rise we have that epic battle between a Speed Grade kit which is 1/200 scale and a Perfect Grade which is 1/60 scale which is hilarious.
20:39 I think they use HGs for somewhat competitive standardization. The build strikes RG system was a function he built in as a custom feature, I'd imagine using an actual strike RG frame would make it more fragile, and someone does use a PG at one point in build divers, but (someone correct me if I'm wrong?) I think I remember they were explicitly cheating. There was also the Psyco GM, used by the gunpla mafioso, which I'd imagine would normally be cheating but since it's a HG, they might be using an exploit to load it into the plavsky particle arena
The pg strike gundam in build divers rerise right? Yeah they didn’t exactly cheat they just used a PG to bully any and all hg kit users there. The cheating thing I think you might be thinking of the time in build fighters where they threw in a mega size model zaku 2 that was focused solely on sei and reiji with the star build strike and then other shenanigans in the gunpla world tournament. Other than that the only other cheaters I can think of was the gunpla mafia in the gm counterattack.
I feel like some of the gold on the Typhoeus needs to be red, but that's my personal tastes talking, as I prefer gold being a highlight color. Overall though, I'll probably get this eventually. I'm more excited for the potential Psycho Gundam MkII
if you are referring to the HG Build Fighters Psycho GM then that is completely based on the original HGUC Psycho Gundam. I do not know of any other Psycho GM kit.
I understand you have a partnership with HLJ but the prices you give are kind of deceiving to new builders. If you live in the US, with shipping it costs $100 just like if you bought it from any stateside hobby store. Saying this costs $60 is useless to anyone that uses USD.
Well, I'm in Mexico, so my experience is very different as there are different shipping options But if you pay in Yen instead of Mexican pesos or dollars you actually end up paying a whole lot less both in the model kit and the shipping I don't know exactly what percentage, but it is very noticeable making the conversions
Bandai just waste some potential for Gundam anime. Like this one and gunpla breaker battlelog story. If they can make one anime that can chain all build series and gunpla breaker, that gonna be wholesome. Just imagine how many gunpla that they can release and that will rise their sales than release tomato can with gunpla picture printed on it😅.
I think the reason why people only use HG in GPB is because cost and accessibility, HG have a ton of library and significantly cheaper then MG or RG plus in the og build fighter your gunpla will suffer real damage so repairing will cost mor for the more complex MG and RG
In my opinion, if Typhoeus truly do make an appearance in proper season (not in build diver, etc), it will be hella monster on the battlefield. Psy-commu beam raining hand and leg and then those tiny funnels thingy? It will be massacre. Actually I still can't see how Lah Gundam can even fight against full arsenal of Typhoeus unleashed
I thought they use the new engineering of the joints for the typhoeus gundam.sadly it still an old design as raphael(single joint at the elbow, ball joint at the leg)

At a whopping 8800 yen, this is actually more expensive than the upcoming narrative ver. Ka… a hard sell imo
Could the Psycho Gundam MK II arms be part of the P-Bandai kit called the Psycho GM that's coming out this year?
if you are referring to the HG Build Fighters Psycho GM then that is completely based on the original HGUC Psycho Gundam. I do not know of any other Psycho GM kit.
Any suggestion for a different color scheme for this kit? I'm planning to buy one and I'll eventually paint it
You think the Mobile Armor would be compatible with Amazing Barbatos Lupus Rex?
i think a repaint of different colors would make this look so much better
I literally just bought this kit a couple days ago
Waiting on it now, but this was a surprise
I understand you have a partnership with HLJ but the prices you give are kind of deceiving to new builders. If you live in the US, with shipping it costs $100 just like if you bought it from any stateside hobby store. Saying this costs $60 is useless to anyone that uses USD.
Well, I'm in Mexico, so my experience is very different as there are different shipping options
But if you pay in Yen instead of Mexican pesos or dollars you actually end up paying a whole lot less both in the model kit and the shipping
I don't know exactly what percentage, but it is very noticeable making the conversions
Giant mecha lobster, cool
and aerodynamic aswell.
Somehow metaverse feels really lazy...
Because it is
Yes kinda project to fulfill fans desire
Bandai just waste some potential for Gundam anime. Like this one and gunpla breaker battlelog story. If they can make one anime that can chain all build series and gunpla breaker, that gonna be wholesome. Just imagine how many gunpla that they can release and that will rise their sales than release tomato can with gunpla picture printed on it😅.
It kinda is tbh. The overall story and characters is lazy
Because it is.
Im a simple man. If a Gunpla has High heels, i want it
I was waiting for this review before I build mine. Got mine on release and it's in the shelf for almost a month now. Time to build it I guess.
Paint all the Gold Parts with Tamiya TS-21. You'll be Happy 😊
Did HGUC 1/144 Psycho Gundam MK-II Runner Kit But Did Not Sure Announced Yet!
This makes me want to finish my TR-6 custom, honestly. XD
It would be awesome to see a video of you waving a real black light around your displayed models
Typhus?! C'Tan?! I'm half expecting to see the Rogal Gauntlet next!
I think the reason why people only use HG in GPB is because cost and accessibility, HG have a ton of library and significantly cheaper then MG or RG plus in the og build fighter your gunpla will suffer real damage so repairing will cost mor for the more complex MG and RG
I'm dreading how much Bandai are going to charge for the Psycho MK-2...as awesome as it would be.
I wouldn't think it would be much more then the Destroy Gundam, if at all.
I'm psyched if they release the Psycho Gundam mk2. I'm a sucker for large HG kits.
Do you know if you can put gundams on them pod stands ? Thanxs bud
The forearms splitting on the Raphael is just an issue of the mold, I've built the original, and it has the same issue.
I just realized that the arms from that model kit resemble those from the pyscho gundam mk 2
this looks amazing oml
You can totally paint this up to be a Gundam version of Transformers Razor claw.
I hope Bandai fixes the problem in the shoulders when the HGUC Psycho Gundam MK.2 comes out. If not I may cancel my pre-order.
I'm assuming the reason wy the build series use HGs is because they are easier to customize and cheaper. MGs and PGs can be more complicated.
This would be a great Gurren laggan custom build
Bandai just can’t seem to do the Gold
God I hope the HG Psycho Gundam Mk. II is this year. I have been waiting for so long...
It looks like the bits from the mobile armor in the unicorn anime
Even if the kit is mid, I'd say it's still worth it just for the design. I've loved this thing ever since I first saw it in Metaverse
Incredible Gundam Raphael customization, Maria! 🤩👏
Like how any of those monsters of massive Psyco Gundams have been beaten : By plot armor and emotional instability of the pilot
"Yo dawg, I heard you like Gundam's..."
can you do Hemoxian Thor kit after this?
Which gundam is it from because I been trying to find it for weeks
I thought they use the new engineering of the joints for the typhoeus gundam.sadly it still an old design as raphael(single joint at the elbow, ball joint at the leg)
Typhoeus is from the legend of Greek Mythology Typhon the father of all monsters
Can we just get the Typhoeus gundam instead of its Mobile Fortress?
Will you be taking a look at the lfrith anavata? Its from vanadis heart like the lfrith jiu
*a true hero-toby fox starts playing*
This looks awesome
I might have to get this ome
Reminds me of Ripley in the power loader from Aliens
Hey Mecha! Can you please do a review on the Hemoxian Thor model kit?? Thanks!
The villain from the show with great sad and tragic back story. Haha
Could you review the Infinity Nova Aurora 1/100, when it comes out? That mech looks amazing!!!!! :D
Looks good
Typhoeus Gundam Chimera:Insert Shaddiq meme here.
Did i miss a synduality model.kit review?
Maybe it's just me but the antenna reminds me of All Might's hair.
Those cannons look like a reissue bor gun from ibo
HG Psycho Gundam Mk IV G-Doors when...
when might the best gundams of 2023 list drop ??
if there were 1 kit thats a must have…what youvthink it is?
