I saw the little error when you were trying to screw the red terminal down and it kept spinning. You forgot the nut underneath. You cut the video, remembered to put the rectangle nut in place, and magically it was complete. Having done this a few times, the angle of the bike will have the red terminal nut fall out...and disappear into the ether. A little tip is to put the nuts in place and put some tape on the outside of each post to make sure they cant fall out, making it much easier to deal with those fiddly little nuts. Helpful video. Thanks.
Replaced my factory battery on 2015 N300, yap lasted till now 2021, still works but noticed its getting weaker. Got installed the new one. Found this video helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this video. You’re the only one who actually took the battery out and replace it with a new one which made it so much easier for me instead of guessing. Also great job explaining it all. Thumbs up!
I really appreciate that. Your comment means a lot. I made the video because, I myself could not find a video on youtube of the entire process. Glad I helped!
Thank you so much my guy, this just helped save me a whole lotta walking and money I was going to spend on towing and having someone else look at my bike.
Clicked on the video only cause of your dog HOWEVER ! ! I found Your videos are very informative and detailed. Good attitude and I like your way of describing what your doing Good job mate 👌
When removing the seat, the washer/collar will probably not come out with the screw. I'd advise to pry it loose before you remove the seat or one or both may end up flying off, never to be seen again. One of mine ended up wedged under a lip in the battery compartment and there was no way to get it out. Had to order a new one.
When you make a how to video with going into depth, you should probably state what kind of battery, what size, what the battery model is, what the factory battery number is. I mean ya know if people dont know how to they would sometimes not know what kind of battery it needs
Gabriel777 Gabriel777 not all batteries are the same. If you’re doing a how to video then you should include, parts, what tools, in this case he should have stated the battery size. Not all battery companies use the same numbers, if you want the original OEM battery then it would have been cool to read it. Google also doesn’t always have the same numbers, across all the different forums. People could say this and that battery but here he is pulling out the correct battery. You clearly have never done a google search on a specific part then. If you did then you would know the problem of having to go to multiple forums and websites to find the correct parts. Apparently there are many other people who agree with me 🤷🏼♂️ dude......you go google it and tell me how many options there are. 👍🏻👍🏻
ytx9-bs is the battery type - for future readers of this comment thread. After a couple hours of research (I'm weird like that) I think I'm going with Yuasa for the brand.
Hmm, looking at my bike, it doesn't have the negative terminal cable that you removed first... (Black side with the small circle tip, not the square end bit). Is that for a charging cable or... I have just bought a new bike. It was working when I bought at took it for a test ride. But now it looks like the battery is shot and doing a replacement and found this video. But yeah any help on whether that's a required cable or not and if so, some guidance on next steps appreciated.
So just a question, is the stock battery not good quality? How often does a battery die? Is because of infrequent riding enough to keep proper charge? Is this eliminated when hooking up a battery tender?
I have 2015 N300 and just now in 2021 June replaced the new one. Do not connect on battery tender UNLESS you plan to not ride your bike lest say 3 month or more. Mine was parked for about 6 weeks in winter without any tender hooked up and it started right up.
My buddy's bike was robbed and they ripped the seat and pulled the ecu. In my research ppl are saying the ecu ony uses two of the 5 plugs (the two bigger orange plugs) in your video I see the other three plugs attach there also. My question is, do all 5 got to the ecu or are there two separate parts there?
A really overlooked fact about these types of batteries people never mention- Make sure when taking the battery out and putting em in,you are careful with the little nuts in the posts boxes, the nuts the screw screws into on the post of the battery. if you shake or tilt these the nuts will fall into the bike and some bikes dont have like a box area to catch the nuts and sometimes the new batteries wont have these nuts and screws, SOMETIMES. Or theyre diff size from the old ones. Its just safer to make sure you dont tilt the battery a ton or shake it vigorously as you pull em out or put em in and lose the nuts. They're weird little odd shaped rectangle nuts that are hard to find I believe. Just better to be safe. So I give this vid a MASSIVE THUMBS DOWN. TERRRRRRIBLE instruction and you have a horrendously pompous attitude like youre better than everyone else. Work on the 'tude dude...lmao,jk, nice vid man.
Heyo! I only have the bike mount part, and the gold part. What is that O shaped thin plate you called “negative battery terminal”? Is it normal that I don’t have that third wire to stack on top of each other
That connector he called "negative battery terminal" is just the terminal of the SAE port that he uses to charge the battery, a stock bike wont have that, the battery terminal connectors from the bike are the gold ones.

@@AlcatrazMeow Yes, that's correct, I drive about 5K miles every year, even on winter days, if it's about 50 degrees sunny days... I never parked my bike more than a 2 month and it always starts right up... Ride safe ✌️
If you order online, you need to fill it with acid, close it and wait approximately 1 hour, then put it charging according to the battery manufacturer instructions or with a smart battery charger, then put it on the bike and ride!
You should be able to just pull them. They are a little tight. Just check to make sure there isn’t a little clip you need to push down, like a plastic piece that prevents them from pulling apart, and if there is, press that clip down and pull at the same time. They should release.
I don’t know if it’s important for someone having the same problem but with my ninja 300 came a little tool kit an in there is a pliers wich helped so much opening them. I guess they are for that specific reason.
I don’t remember the exact battery model unfortunately. However, if you go to your local battery story and tell them which bike you have, you should be able to tell them and they can look it up in their system. Additionally, you can find out by doing a google search on the year and make of your motorcycle and it should tell you the battery type! Thank you for watching!
Horrible design. Old ZXR250 (superior in every way) you turned the rear seat key and pulled the lever, bammo - rear seat off and battery is there. 4 fasteners like the zx300 gets the entire tank and side panels off lol.

Good old Ninja 300. I hate the amount of stuff you have to take off to do simple maintenance but that's the price we pay for modern compact bikes!

you were pointing to the wrong spot for the bolts to remove on the actual seat, but other than that really good video

They’re called Allen bolts, so they take an Allen wrench, not a “L” wrench
Do I start engine and let it idle after or what do we do after
It’s seems like I don’t have the last plastic pin that goes in the rubber hole. So the fairing can move a little. Am I the only one?
Feel bad. I just drop the top cover bolt in tray. And then it is missing..
what battery size is it
Do I need to charge up a new battery or is it already charged up?
If you order online, you need to fill it with acid, close it and wait approximately 1 hour, then put it charging according to the battery manufacturer instructions or with a smart battery charger, then put it on the bike and ride!
I have this same exact bike special edition
Same for 636? Same year.
Why does the battery need to chill in the bike for at least an hour?
It really doesn’t need to. It’s just recommended by the manufacturer. You’re good to plug up and go. Thank you for watching!
How do you disconnect the plugins? I'm trying to charge my battery and that's all I'm stuck on.
You should be able to just pull them. They are a little tight. Just check to make sure there isn’t a little clip you need to push down, like a plastic piece that prevents them from pulling apart, and if there is, press that clip down and pull at the same time. They should release.

How to remove the rear seat?
There's a keyhole underneath the seat on the left side of the bike, you unlock it with the same key you use to turn on the bike.
What battery did you buy?
I don’t remember the exact battery model unfortunately.
