    Alessia Cara is singing in the beginning, but most of lead is by Dany. I suggest watching the MV, it's AMAZING! What they said they did was: Strip the original down to it's essence. Then make it a pop song. The Rockify (or Warnify) it!. Alessia was in Toronto working remotely, and The Warning and Producer Matt Squire were in Monterrey, MX. They did this WHOLE THING in ONE WEEK to make the deadline for the album! AMAZING!

    Great reaction to this cover that many call it a remake of the song. The audio is great, but in context with the well-produced music video they create a simply spectacular atmosphere. Amazing!

    Alessia was originally asked to participate on the Blacklist album. She has the same talent agent as The Warning who suggested the collaboration. The Warning took over arranging and recorded their parts in just about a week with producer Matt Squire in Monterrey Mx. Alessia recorded her part from Canada with Matt over the internet and the song was then mixed by David Bendeth, the producer of the Mayday EP. I really wish you would have watched the music video. Alessia sang the first verse and Dany sang the rest with Pau reciting the prayer.
    I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard this song I was really disappointed. I was taken aback by the pop sound of Alessia's vocal and the omission of the guitar solo. But I calmed down and re0listened with an open mind and was subsequently blown away.

      Totally agree with you about being disappointed with this when I first watched the premiere - and thought it was way too poppy with Alessia Caras vocals,so after watching several reaction channels over the next few days,my opinion turned 360 degrees ! But to be honest,I still struggle with Alessias vocals on this (would love to see Pau do Alessias parts and trade off with Dany if they ever did this live). I will admit though,that I had to listen to Alessias new album and there are a few decent tracks on it...still prefer Dany,Pau and Ales vocals though

    • @MaddogJones
      @MaddogJones 2 роки тому +2

      @@robhaunui3343 You mean 180 degrees otherwise your opinion would have stayed the same... lol. But yeah, I'm still not a fan of Alessia's vocals in the song and the "trap hi-hat" are still a little off putting but the rest of the song is such a banger that those two things are barely noticeable now. How about Ale singing the Alessia part if they play it live, then all three would have a part in it, now that would be cool!!! Nah, I tried listening to Alessia on Spotify and couldn't make it through one song, definitely not my cup of tea.

    • @robhaunui3343
      @robhaunui3343 2 роки тому +1

      @@MaddogJones haha,had several beers and didn't even notice that botch up of mine - 360 degrees indeed - yep,you're absolutely correct,180 degrees,haha. That's a very good point about Ale,especially as she stepped up on "Z" (her vocals sounded very similar to Danys on that),and if Alessia wasn't on "Enter Sandman" I could easily live with that,she certainly is an acquired taste - I know I wouldn't go and buy her music,but I guess if it wasn't for her being asked to perform on the "Blacklist" project,The Warning wouldn't have been involved,and I personally think it was their arrangements and involvement that made the song,especially those backing vocals - just wish Pau had really pulled some of her magic out on the drums,and showed the world her prowess.

    • @MaddogJones
      @MaddogJones 2 роки тому +1

      @@robhaunui3343 Well Chris Smith of 21 Entertainment is the MVP on that project for insisting Alessia collaborate with The Warning, then Matt Squire for producing and getting the project rolling across three countries. I think with the whole song being pared down like it was with no solo or even the iconic riff that Pau's drums were spot on. Sometimes less is more. Perhaps if they do it live they could elaborate on the outro with a little more flare.

    This is a complete reimagining of the song. The Warning along with producer Matt Squire and Alessia Cara had a week to reinvent and record this song. The idea was the create a very creepy lullaby.
    The official video does a great job of emphasizing the creep factor.

  • @glenallencox966

    For as much as I love Metallica, after all it was The Warnings cover of this song back in 2014 that got me interested in them to begin with, I still definitely like this rendition far more than the original. They took James Hetfields original idea of this song as being a “lullaby” for his son and created a far more Surreal….. Darker….. Creepier….. Haunting, almost horror movie feel of a song with a powerful ending that gives homage to the original, what a touch of class. And Dany’s high note leading into the ending is EPIC! They absolutely killed it!
    The more we hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. Yet In my opinion, it is absolutely The Warning who bring the “hit factor” to this recreation of an iconic song. What a Bold Statement! But, I honestly did not expect anything less. It would not surprise me if this song/video were to receive a nomination for a Grammy award. Again, they killed it!
    LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

      As a rule, I don’t watch the videos (for the first listen) I like to hear the studio versions first. Just a personal preference. A lot of times, the videos don’t really have anything to do with the subject matter of a song and/or can be distracting from the music for me. I will, however, do reactions for live videos after I’ve heard the studio or as in the case of Dust To Dust, I did a 2-fer. I reacted to the studio version, followed by the live version. It depends. The XXI Century Blood, Disciple, and Martirio videos are very much visualizations of the stories of the songs; Choke is allegorical, and Enter Sandman's video very much fits the atmospherics of the song. Super reaction Smitty! I love everything about this. James Hatfield said this song was written to be a lullaby for his son. So The Warning rearranged the original song to have more of a lullaby vibe. Their voices blend really well with Alessia's. Their harmonies are spectacular. Their arrangement of this timeless classic is off the charts. Their video is amazing. Legendary work here. Grammy Award winning artist Alessia Cara is more of a sultry soulful Pop singer/songwriter. She and The Warning share the same international agent who suggested that she collaborate with TW. So with very little time, TW jumped at the opportunity; rearranging the song and recording the music and vocals in less than a week!

    They are really trending upwards right now. The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight for her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI Century Blood", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "Escape the Mind"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group last fall. They recently decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track!
    The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. Grab yourself a ticket to their upcoming North American Tour that starts middle of April throughout May. You will be glad you did.
    🗣Thank you!
