  • HOLOGRAMS are indeed the future.
Its only a matter of time that we will be using and seeing holograms in our everyday lives.
The APPLE corporation is currently trying to develop Holographic technology.
So why not try and make some Holograms!!!!
Glass, Mirrors, Fog, Mist, Steam, and a Projector is all we used to create the illusion of a hologram.
When holograms eventually become a part of mainstream culture these old techniques shown in this video will still play a factor in the creation of the technology that takes us to the Holographic revolution.
What do you think will be the next step that brings us closer to the Holographic revolution???

If I had the money and work ethic I'd set up a Pepper's Ghost stage at anime/comic conventions and put on a show where live performers interact with animated characters.
In the meantime, I'd love to figure out a multi-layered Pepper's Ghost box to display short animations in 3D without glasses.

Shanks FX Interesting. I thought that issue was unique. You could certainly make great use of a BMPCC with your already excellent level of quality. For some time now I have had a hologram video on my to do list, though of a much more simplistic nature than you've achieved here. If I go through with it I'll be sure to link this clip as a further resource to my viewers.

ive always enjoy just imagining stuff that i just cant describe, and CGI fx is the perfect way to show other people what im always imagining when i stare off into space. Im also a movie fanatic im just so intrigued by how they can create a whole world that doesnt even exist just with some simple tools and a conputer...but the only problem is, i just dont know where/how i can get started into the realm of CGI

what's more to add to this is that Boeing is working on force fields that absorb and distribute impact for modern tactile and Light/ Laser Weapons. Now how dose that tie in to holograms? If those force fields are perfected to the point where they can deflect and reflect light and force, then my friends we will have the nessasary means to create Holograms that we can not only see but touch as well. And since those force fields can do that all they need to do is be able to move to change robotics as we know it as well.

so im still a little confused on the tupac hologram, peppers ghost technique. obviously the positioning of the glass is very important, in the drawing diagram you had in the video the glass was positioned next, and almost underneath the reflective surface, does the reflective film and the glass have to be that close to each other to make that specific moment happen?

  • @AMcBee
    @AMcBee 9 років тому +1

The Microsoft Hololens produces the appearance of a hologram by using the Ghost Technique for the perspective of each eye, so that what you see appears to be an actual hologram. It also uses technology similar to what is in the Xbox Kinect to respond to your gestures, so you will be able to manipulate the holograms using your hands. And it will be out this year, running Windows 10, so that you can run many of your apps in it. In 3-D. It seems they are beating Apple to the market on that.
Holograms are definitely the future, and it's coming faster than you think.

I dig it, man. One small critique, though. You kind of sound like a robot trying to impersonate a human. To narrow it down, it's the pauses between sentences combined with a lack of inflection.
"Dont you?" Is a question, so you want to throw that inquisitive uptick in pitch.
I really love what you are doing, so please dont take that feedback the wrong way. You've got a very interesting video, even without dialogue.

So in oder for holograms to work we need a medium to reflect the light, so can lasers colliding at a fixed point create that medium or point where the hologram is seen? The mist and steam is great but if we can use an alternate light source to create an invisible medium, it would be much better. Visible light can be the hologram and perhaps use the invisible spectrum to create the medium for the projection.....just a thought.

I honestly have a idea for a hologram concept that is true 3-D and that stills uses the fog screen idea for it. My hologram design will work by shooting a thin flat horizontal layer of mist from multiple nozzles or maybe just one nozzle and will be moving upward at a high speed at the same time there would be a laser in the center of the nozzle projecting changing layers of a curtain shape(like a MRI scan) Thus creating a 3 dimensional object. I also want you to try my idea because I honestly had this idea for about a year so hopefully you reply. please comment

Holograms were the "future" in the 1980s. And non of this video was actually holography. All you are doing is bastardising the definition of "hologram", so thanks for that. Now it's 7 years since this video was made, which is technically "the future" from the perspective of the video, and I see no sign that holograms (or cheap illusions as shown in the video) are in any way significant now. This video is just bad in every way.

All valid points, please share any videos that show interesting holographic technology. At the time, I was just trying to create the illusion of holograms using inexpensive techniques.
