The ladies decided to wear what looks to me like the fashions of the 21st century...maybe the 22nd...and the only criteria they agreed on was to wear just beige or red, to represent a reindeer and santa. Akane is using rods on the drums instead of sticks to keep her band-leading drums sounding softer.

it's great to see you back with the maids, I always love your reactions. This song is from BAND-MAID'S Christmas serving a beautiful treat for the fans. BAND-MAID kick off their USA tour at the huge Aftershock Festival in Sacramento California then continue with a regular tour. tickets went on sale a few days ago and mostly sold out already. Because it was a Christmas show, the ladies are dressed in reindeer brown except for beautiful MISA. She's dressed in Rudolph red. As far as where to go next, I suggest a double reaction. The first song I suggest is "secret My lips" from their official channel. The audio is the studio recording, but the video is edited live footage. The second song is "secret MAIKO lips," also from their official channel. It's the same song, just with traditional Japanese instruments sampled in. The big attraction for the second version is that it was done as an April Fool's joke. On April 1, 2018, the maids said that they were changing their look from maids to maiko (pronounced my-koh, and it means apprentice geisha), changing their band name to BAND-MAIKO, changing their individual names, and incorporating traditional instruments into their rock. They went so far as to produce a video for it, 'secret MAIKO lips" where their faces are painted and their outfits are the youthful, colorful kimono of maiko. The video has little in-jokes and references to Japanese culture. The following year, because the response was so strong to BAND-MAIKO, they released an EP of songs that have been given the BAND-MAIKO sound and a second video with the 100% original song, "Gion-cho." What I really miss is, that you seem not to realize, that there have been two voices. Miku sometimes was above Saikis voice and she pushed her with the harmonies she delivered. Not to forget Akane on drums, not easy for the gorilla to hold that back. The star here, is not the bass, not the voice, it is the band!!
I was so nice to hear you singing the infectious hook, which is, “o-yo-i-de, o-yo-i-de”(swimming, swimming), “mu-ka-i-ni-yu-ku” (I will come to meet you). You would enjoy their live acoustic rendition (just Saiki and Kanamincho) of Puzzle. Unfortunately, you need to look on another video sharing site to find it. But listen to the original version first to really appreciate how they completely transformed the song.
If they hadn't wrapped me around their little fingers much earlier, it would have happened last Christmas at the latest with this very special show. Simply beautiful. And as wonderful as the instrumental realizations of the songs are, Saiki's and Miku's voices are my personal highlight. I don't know how to put it. re Phaeron....So glad to hear someone else say this !!----It is just Saiki's fortune too find herself stuck in the middle of the 4 best instrumentalists this side of the galaxy !---How does a singer even survive in such company ? !------let alone shine ,like a supernova ?-------------Yet she DOES ! And no matter how drenched in rock----there is no burying the insistent and alluring slight jazziness in Saiki's voice !! It glows and smolders and flares throughout. And you are right about Miku's voice too:------It has become my new interest in hearing BandMaid to listen to their "duets" of a sort...............Miku has developed a voice that fits against Saiki's like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. They are different voices,to be sure !---but sooo beautifully fitted into each other.Or like 2 colours, or 2 kinds of wood-grain------or two wild flags in the wind.........Way more than, somehow, "harmony" can suggest. A confluence of rivers !

From Japan "Catharsis" is one song from the Christmas Acoustic Concert 75 minutes 14 songs on December 25th. They changed from maid outfits to reindeer and red colored outfits for their fans. They play in different combinations with two or three members. Their hard rock song replaces another song. A site that can be viewed until March 25th is on sale on their website. She was doing backup vocals in some of the songs in the concert!! Dude, the tickets for that Christmas concert are still on, and you can go watch it online till 25th March. I got mine on the Zaiko website. You have seriously got to watch that concert.
Check out the "Sayonakidori Acoustic Ver. (Official Live Video)" and the rock version sung by miku, who usually sings background vocals, and you will rediscover miku's talent.
I love your reactions Jacqueline. Band maid has a couple of official live videos with two songs each that have cool vocals. One is Dice/Different and the other Manners/BLACK HOLE. The 2nd vocalist, Miku, has more interesting parts, especially in the Manners/BLACK HOLE video. And the 200+ BPM pace of Different creates special challenges for the singers. Check them out.

I think the other songs on the acoustic show are even better than catharsis. Great showcase for saiki & miku's vocals. And that bass, MISA MISA MISA. Highly recommend u check out the whole concert before it gets taken down. Best rock band going. I havent found a single song of theirs i havent liked.
