what is driving the led ring? it seemed like it got brighter as the platter sped up also what is controlling the brightness as the video says.?

How many grit sandpaper did you use?
We adjusted the high levels with a Dremel and sanded the rest with 3 different types of sandpaper to have a flat surface.
