U have to in these cus they have a skip shift feature where if u aren’t in high enuff rpms u have to skip 2nd and 3rd and go to 4th it was for fuel economy

Yeah with everything else that was done to the car minus the engine, this car is a rocket. You see a lot of upper 500rwhp or 600rwhp cars running 11's but this mid 400rwhp camaro with all the proper suspension work and drive train work pulled an 11.21 on slicks. It's not always about the Hp, everything else that actually gets the car moving is a huge player as well.

You're right, most of the upgrades done are to make the car bullet proof so the car won't have any trouble handling added power or abuse. Unlike the '97 supercharged Cobra I used to have the first burned up a clutch then blew the trans out of. I'd rather be a little less powerful but have a car I know won't break. Thanks for the comments guys

Actually if you look at my intentions, and look at the video, I'm a great driver. The whole purpose of this video was to burn the tires off the line and just smash gears after that. Think I accomplished that fairly well; mind you I only had the car about 2 months at this point.

Sounds like 1st gear off the limiter >2 bounced off the limiter >missed third bounced off the limiter>and then finally got into 3rd and got loose cuz he was bouncing off the god damn limiter. How'd the rebuild go? 😂😂
you can redline an Ls with no issues, these engines are tough and built extremely well.
Lsx Powered not a high millage one, itll handle no problem but its bezt to swap the lifters and bearings

How does what I drive have anything to do with this video? I don't know wtf "momentum shifting" is but anyone who has driven a stick before knows that when the clutch goes in, no more power is given to the wheels. In other words each time you shifted, the wheels stopped spinning. So no, it doesn't work the way you say. I don't know why I'm explaining this to you, we both know you went 1-2-1-2.

What RPMs are you running in 6th at 70MPH with 4.10s I'm gonna guess maybe 2-2500

body panels and pop up head lights don't make that much difference. sure the bird had the ws6 package, but the camaro had the fe4 option with were the exact same part upgrades as the ws6. engines were the same with the ss and ws6 having the same 243 heads and cam and both could get love from slp. the only part that separates the firebird from the camaro back then was the firehawk, but if we're going to start talking about specialty editions go look up the berger super camaro and get back to me when you find a firebird that was sold at a dealership with the same parts. I suggest you do more research before you spout off pretending to be some sort of expert.

I'm gonna have to say bullshit on smoking it through 4 gears. I'm not the one to rant on the tube, but by the time he hit 3rd, there would of been way more tire smoke and spin if he was bouncing it off the rev limiter that hard. There are plenty of vids on youtube that show a true 4 gear launch.
it wasnt a 4th gear launch.., also if he had a limiter set he would be hitting the limiter quicker..and if hes got shorter diff ratios would be even easier to spin, im like near positive he spun it in 4th gear
Thank god for rev limiters or that LS1 woulda went by by on that launch...my best times in my 98 Z are barely any throttle off idle, and get the hell outta first gear by short shifting into second before hitting the limiter (quick snap)....13.08 at 103.5 stock except for frame connectors and K&N and synthetic fluids. This one should run a lot faster than this, if launched properly.
On slicks it's best time was 11.22. Pretty damn fast for a bolt on and cam only LS1.

Biggest thing I would say is gears, intake and full exhaust with a cutout if you're looking for just bolt ons. Full exhaust and gears really wake these cars up. Idk what your willing to spend, so I can't make too many suggestions. All I know is it can get pricey quick haha. Good luck man, message me if you have any other questions.

Now we know why they came out with rev limiters, for those who should not be driving. It is all in the sound.
It doesn't matter what kind of car you have, you can always make it fast. But everything has a price tag. My $7000 number was just a comparison, mod for mod an LT1 or LS1 is superior. (in most cases) When I said capable of more HP i meant as a whole. There is a lot more to worry about than just the block for high HP output. Really the only shitty thing on the Fbody is it has a shitty rear end, The 10 bolt will break on stock HP if you have 4.10 gears installed. 9" Moser rear end fixes that.
So lets hear what you have done to this "fast" Mustang then? Stock mustang vs stock LT1 or LS1 is always going to be the same outcome. F body with the win. Now if you put $7000 into your Mustang and race a stock F body your obviously going to win. Now put $7000 into the Mustang and F body the F body is going to win. If both cars ARENT stock, then really its about who has more done. F bodies are more capable of high HP than mustangs... Fast not opinions.

Yeah because everyone always shifts from 1st to 2nd then back to first ...wtf are you talking about? There's this thing called torque and momentum shifting at that high of RPM and with the tires already spinning, chirping or burning the tires as I did in this case is cake. Unless you drive a Honda, or Mustang of course.

Every time I let off was a shift, if you can count, I hit 4th gear by the end. Letting off to just hit the throttle again without shifting would be pointless. And they're not stanger wheels for the 100th time
It was 4th I can assure you. Might seem like it was still in 3rd but that's probably due to the 4.10 gears. If u watch my LS1 Gettin it on the back roads video you'll see the RPMs barely drop after each shift
In this video it has American Racing LT headers into an O/R Y pipe into a B&B Catback. For the quickest, cheapest sound, get a cutout. I got one and love it. I have a video up of that as well if you wanna check it out.
Why the quick shifts? Maybe cause i was burning through gears almost one right after another because I was spinning, jack ass. Does it look like I was racing? Who was I racing? The fuckin air?
If it's %100 stock I would start off with full exhaust w/ a cutout, then intake, and 4.10 gears. After all that, cam, heads, lifters, build the trans, etc etc haha it's endless. Good luck with it
They're torque thrust wheels, not necessarily Mustang wheels. I got a good deal on them though, not to mention the rears are 17x11! Don't see too many Stanger's with that wide of a wheel haha

RPMs aren't gonna drop much when the wheels are spinning that fast and the RPMs are that high with 4.10 gears. Definitely wasn't just nailing the gas over and over, that'd be retarded
v6 autos can and will (well atleast the 3.8 v6 can and will) as I've done it half a dozen times most of them by accident, really gotta be careful when it rains, LOL
