I love the simplicity and the voice of your videos......
I'm having this feeling that I can't be successful in my life. I'm in my final year of a CS degree, and I have not made any progress or developed any skills. I'm scared that I won't get a job due to my lack of skills. I constantly try to change my habits, but I lack discipline. I also have this desire to find a rival in my life, both in my field and socially.
You can try your best to find happiness and contentment in your life but the only real way you can truly be fulfilled is by following Jesus. You may feel like everyone else has it all figured out and you don't, but that's not true. There are a ton of people out there that don't know what their doing. Find hobbies that make life more enjoyable for you. Like riding your bike or photography, or anything like that. Also I don't get what you mean by a "rival". Could you explain?
The thing about books is such a weird advice. Fictional litterature teaches us so many things, saying that you should read educational litterature instead is implying that every uni student is extremely content and not bored, which seems kinda untrue, no?
Fictional literature can teach you things, it's just not as beneficial as other educational books that give you life advice. Also I'm not saying that you will be happy if you read educational books because I don't even read that much. I'm just saying that if you're gonna be reading a lot, it's better to read more educational books if that makes sense.
@@zacharysilva completely disagree with this point. Fictional literature is a gateway to the soul and mind. If you don't even read that much, why are you telling others to not read? Seems weird to me.
@@fabriciusbjerre I understand what you mean as I used to be a incredibly big fictional book reader. I probably read hundreds of fiction books. But I agree with Zach on this one. The stories in fiction books are not real. They never happened, and sometimes nothing even remotely close could even happen. They are a gateway to your own imagination, as its the thing that drives us to read these books. There are definitely good fictional books that can teach great lessons, however reading them too much WILL affect your imagination in a negative way. The fiction will affect the way you view the world, and you will view the world in a way that doesn't reflect true reality since fiction isn't real. I've had this problem myself. Additionally, most fictional books are written by secular writers, who although may be extremely talented, still don't have a Christian worldview or have Christ in their hearts. This will of course be reflected on the contents of the book, which is another way secular ideas can influence your thinking and imagination.
In summary, there are quite a few good fictional books that taught me great lessons. But it is important to be careful what you read and when you read it, as it can be a big waste of time like movies. Additionally, you should be very careful with secular influences on you and your imagination. May God bless you!
to me if a fiction teach you something about life then that fiction could count as educational. I think what he mean by "fiction books" in this video are those young adult romantic novels that are generic and give little to no value to someone. Work of fiction is not inherently bad but you should pick something that worth your time and give some sort of value to you
Great video🙌💯
Thanks bro🤙
Great stuff
Thanks! I've been watching your channel for a few weeks or so, and i think it's so cool that you commented on this video.
You're right, but you should use some books for references. Cool video.
Thanks. I haven't really read any books on that exact topic, but that is a good idea.
I found your video very smart. I am a psychologist here in Brazil, so I have conducted some research on these topics. My favorite books are 'Atomic Habits' and 'Mind Over Mood.' Good luck on your journey!@@zacharysilva
@@pedroporto238 Thank you. I've listened to the audio book version of atomic habits, and it was good.
I just have ADHD
There's a possibility that it comes from things like scrolling on social media
Nope, this is outright wrong. ADHD is a neurological illness, it's genetic, not caused by external exposure such as social media.
