I did not hear much difference but I did notice one thing. More control with the Tosca. It would have been interesting to hear you play these two instruments in different acoustics. I've tried the Tosca next to a Festival and although I really liked the control of the Tosca the exact Festival I had in my hand had depth in the lower register I could not resist. So I could have ended up with a Tosca. If I think more about it the Tosca would have maybe sounded better in a large hall and the festival in a smaller hall with dryer acoustic.
We make the sound ourselves. And we do it with the combination of mouth, mouthpiece, reed and ligature. In this type of test, the loudness is not visible.

It is largely with the bore designs which give them somewhat different sounds.
