I purchased a 1025R and like you, the size of the bucket size and associated lift capacity was one of the things that swayed me to JD over the Kubota. Another thing, among others, was the twin touch pedals - I have a rear snowblower and just didn’t want to be manipulating a treadle pedal. I think Kubotas are outstanding machines and have used them in the past but there were features on the JD that suited me better.
By the way, what is the black material on the top of your bucket and what’s its purpose? Thanks.

Totally agree! Both the bucket and lift capacity drew me towards the JD. The twin pedals is a good call too. I preferred this over the Kubota myself. Less foot moment. I also noticed the arms and frame were larger in size. The BX23S is similar size to the John Deere x758. So this just made more sense with a similar price point.
Black material on top of the bucket is non skid tape. I’ve stood on the top of the bucket a few times and nearly slipped off once.
Thanks you for your comments! Glad to hear another Deere owner feels the same way I did when making this decision
