  • In today’s video, we are cooking a true comfort food from Greece, that some might call a better representation of the Greek cuisine than a Gyro, A moussaka. It’s a sort of Greek shepherd pie, but with ground beef that is cooked with cinnamon, fresh tomatoes, and red wine.
    We layer our pie with fried potatoes and eggplants, before adding our slow cooked meat and finally topping it up with a bechamel that is made richer by some pecorino and egg yolks.
    This recipe contains step by step instructions on how to cook each of those individual components and bring it all together in a baking dish that results in a spectacular pie, with layers of vegetables, topped with delicious ground meat and a creamy bechamel.
