Definitely got some nice 10’s, but I would recommended turning to more mid-level and parallel cards if you are looking for stronger ROI. MOST BASE JUST DO NOT get the prices they once did doing COVID.
@@sp123 yes totally. I have a pretty sick Donruss Clearly Garrett Wilson /175 from my last batch that I haven't been able to get a good value more. Definitely no more clearly for me. Optic has been proving to be my favorite so far.
@@sp123 they are pretty much the go to for most football collectors/flippers, but those brands have slipped a lot. Just my opinion, but stay away from base of all of them. Select is not what it once was, retail release and the parallel trend did it in. Mosaic is trending negative, but people love the genesis parallels. I think the flat silver in mosaic is the best looking parallel. The design for optic makes it harder to grade, centering. Prizm is Prizm and the parallels sell.
If you made money you did good! At the 6:07 mark, you can see two print lines on the Wilson Downtown: 1) along the Optice logo, where it changes to white at the bottom of the logo 2) about 3/4" down from the optic logo. The downtowns for that year are notorious for getting 8s because of this issue.
Nice reveal. Some really cool cards. They can be really tough on the more rare cards. PSA is notorious for pop control. If you want to sell that Woolen in the 7 slab I’ll take it. Just let me know how much will make you happy.
Thank you! Dude I'll throw that Wollen slab up on my Mercari page tonight, it's all yours. I was considering cracking it just to practice cracking but if you want it, you can have it
@@DanielsonSportsCards I shared your video with my viewers so expect some new subs coming. You should also look into grading with SGC. Incredible customer service, 10-15 day turnaround time and all cards are graded for $15
What I usually see when someone gets a 8 or below on a ultra modern card is something with the surface and most of the time on the back. Either a bad print line, scratch or what I see a lot is fingernail indentions on the back. PSA is tough on surfaces.
I need to take a closer look at surfaces before sending in. I feel I do a pretty good job quality checking the corners but yeah I need to be tricker on the surfaces.
I've got it up for sale on my Mercari page. Go ahead and make an offer! Turns out it's a POP 1 right now. www.mercari.com/u/480054323/?tracking_ref_id=m77952881733
Great sub with some unreal grades! Congrats! I just posted a video of a modern sub that I was so nervous about. I did pretty good on some low serial numbered cards with extremely low pops. I have also been doing great on my vintage videos as far as accuracy with my pregrades. Keep up the great videos. You gained a new subscriber!
Nice video. The only thing that I wish you had included is the estimated price for each card if you sold them raw. If the grading didn't increase the value of a card by more than $21, then it wasn't really worth it for that particular one. You probably did pretty well, though, with all of those 10s.
I have no idea why that one was a 7. Literally looks like it could be a 9!! Freaking PSA, man... But otherwise, really sick grades! I love the big heap of 10's!!!
I feel like PSA doesn't always grade super consistently... Have you thought about doing a video explaining the differences between the grades from what you've seen in your hauls so far? I would like to see something like that
I can echo your sentiments, _wholeheartedly_ !! And more so,...in the post-COVID, card collecting/grading world, PSA has become exponentially more inconsistent! I've been subbing for a relatively-long time; primarily with PSA, but with a sprinkle of BGS & SGC, too. That said,... *NOTHING* has changed, with regard to how I..."cherry pick" my cards, and decide which ones I select as worthy of submitting. Keeping in mind that I always submit cards with the hopeful-optimism that they'll all get 10's, but likewise,...accepting if I am to receive some 9's (with an occasional/rare, oversighted 8 or lower). At the end of July, I had a 14 card order where I was 14 for 14 of PSA 10's. All, Ultra Modern, within the last 5 years. At the beginning of August, I had a 12 card order come back; _TEN_ , PSA 9's and only _TWO_ PSA 10's....?!!?! *WTH* !?!! You mean to tell me that over the course of 3 weeks, I went _legally blind_ in one eye, and couldn't see out of the other....?!!? That's the _only_ possible way that there could've been such a _MAJOR DISPARITY_ between said results! Well,...at least from a rational & logical perspective. Nevertheless, we have to accept that grading is subjective & opinionated. Whether we...."agree"....with the results, or not. I agree; it's a *tough pill* to swallow when the grades really don't make sense. But at the end of the day, if we don't like it, no one's forcing us to keep going back to the well.
That at least makes me feel better that I'm not the only one. I'm ok with a few 9s but just gotta avoid those 8s and 7s. It is a tough pill but that's so cool that you had a haul that was all PSA 10s! I'm glad to know it's possible
@@abid6832 Entirely depends on what your personal-preference is, _and_ ,..your..."end goal" . SGC,...a little more "sturdy" and bigger; BGS slabs are the Sherman Tanks of the hobby. So, again,...entirely depends on preference/intentions. Just my 2 cents.
Is your estimated return a measure of gross proceeds? Where is the expense for shipping, selling fees, etc? I believe the edges, chipped or not, detract from the ever important catch all eye appeal at Please Submit Again on the downtown.
Hey there, the estimated return has just the sale price, then at the end of the video I throw in the selling fees and shipping materials. But maybe next time I can do it per each card as I go through. You think I should crack and resubmit the DT?? Risky but I'm looking at the card in person and can't figure out why it got an 8
@@DanielsonSportsCards I always defer to the surface if it is not corners, edges or centering, which we can see easily. I wouldn't regrade stuff unless another company might be a better fit. It's a cool card as an 8 or a 9 to me. I don't deal but I do like to buy and hold a few cool things.

you have to look at cards with a10x loupe, PSA 7-9 are usually a small surface or corner/edge issue that requires a hard look
Yeah I definitely need to take a closer look at the surfaces then I have been doing
Just wait until you have to crack and resend 2 or 3 times due to PSAs grading inconsistencies. Fun times.
Have you had success cracking and resubmitting?
