@@skybcards Where you sending your cards to now? I have a Bryce Young Kaleidoscope and I definitely am not sending it to PSA. Even before watching this video I was not a fan of PSA, now it is even worse lol.
Sorry for those grades bro! Unfortunately, the hobby keeps PSA on top. When I first started looking into grading I read about how PSA was the best. I slowly bought into the hype myself. Before that, I always felt BGS did a good, consistent job. I've tried SGC, CSG, and HGA. My top choice goes to CSG; nice design and crystal clear case, but the hobby don't want to believe that there are better graders than PSA. Also, it seems that the graders are always eating while grading which leads to specs of whatever sitting inside our graded case; and that's across the board with all graders. We can only hope they are not snacking when we send in our 1/1 Justin Herbert RC.
Note how you only got 10’s on the lower value qbs and non-qb cards. It’s a scam. I guarantee the condition of all those cards you submitted is consistent across the board yet only the lower value positions gem’d out. We gotta stop using psa collectively
PSA has been tough on ultra-modern cards. I got a 5 on a Garrett Wilson Prizm throwback RC. I’m keeping it slabbed just to have proof of PSA being inconsistent with their grades.
I find it really interesting that all the die cuts got tens. U would think that being way more curves and corners would make it a lot more difficult for them all to be perfect.
I know PSA has the "reputation" but you should really try grading with TAG.. Their value is on the rise and I love how they provide you a report of why your card got it's grade. Still don't understand how PSA do not provide any info on the cards flaws. In all, TAG is awesome.
That's why I haven't sent in big cards yet. I'm scared. Lol. I'd probably just go with one of the smaller companies because I don't plan on selling them anyways...
Slow turn around times and definitely tougher grading. Plus the poor market for 9s definitely makes you think long and hard about what to submit these days. Unfortunate.
I just wish people would jump on the SGC train, way better service and much more consistency. I know a lot of people don't like their slabs but I kind of do, they are plain and don't take away from the card.
At least your submission went better than mine. I sent in 20 cards for dual grading (auto and card) for 520 dollars of submission fees. I waited 90 days for it, and guess what I got? All 20 cards with auto grades but ZERO card grades (they authenticated it instead). Waited three hours to call PSA and they confirmed it was a mistake, so now I have to send it back to them and restart another lengthy process.
Grading is so tough! Sorry about the results of this submission bro, you have good things coming your way for providing such great content and entertainment for so meny of us in the hobby! Can’t say it enough but thank you!
Man, Im sorry bro! I love your channel and have watched and followed your channel from the start. This is exactly why I made my comment a few months back about me not ever using PSA again, and I have been sending all my cards to SGC. Everyone is like yea but SGC doesn't bring as much money as a PSA 10. Well when you consider all your bigger cards are gonna get 7,8, & 9s from PSA possibly worse, Im pretty sure Im still coming out way ahead by using SGC. Id rather sell 9.5 and 10's for a little less in a SGC slab than have PSA send me a bunch of 7,8, & 9's. Iv been there done that and Im done and those cards with 7's and 8's are hard to move for anything let alone any value being recouped. Plus a huge bonus, I have all my cards back in 2 weeks from SGC not 2 months, so iv already sold and subbed at least 4 more submissions before PSA guys get back there 7's and 8's from 1 submission. After sending hundreds of cards to SGC I have never got a grade lower than a 8.5 on anything modern, vintage cards of course but modern has all been 8.5 and higher. Im writing this to just help man because I love the hobby and I enjoy and support your channel, not to troll or try and down you at all. I just know how this feels and nothing is more demoralizing than to spend a big stack of hard earned cash on a submission to open it and have the breath knocked out of you. You pull very nice stuff bro and you deserve to have your cards graded fairly. If you have any questions or I can help in any way just let me know. Keep up the awesome content bro!!!
Next time, send that submission in with a pack of Skittles and a nice written note. It might warm em up a bit, so they are not so dang cold on the grades. Also was told to value the cards as if they were a 10 when submitting.
I’ve always wished that PSA could make an addition to its grading and website to show you your sub-grades when you scan your QR code and your specific cards info pops up. That shouldn’t be too hard of a change or add significant time to the grading process at all. It’s so sad honestly.
I know you have to do it as a separate submission, but can be included in the same package/order, but all autos should be graded. Looks SO MUCH better! Brings out true value as well.
Man that’s heartbreaking on a couple of those. Brutal how you are completely contingent on the grader. I just sent in 47 cards today and I’m hoping this guy is retired by the time it gets there holy smokes.
Man I would be pissed off too! I saw quite a few cards that looked to me like they had some kind of dust or debris on them. I'd have a hard time not sending an angry email to psa. Lol
@skybcards how do you send them into grading? Do you have to clean the cards before sending them in? And if so, do you send them in "Penny sleeve"? "Penny sleeve & Toploader"? Or just nothing raw? How does it work? I want to know because eventually I want to get some cards graded as well!?? Thanks @skybcards
If to many get graded 10's they start giving out 9's or worse so they do not blow the pop report out of balance. If I send 20 cards of the same thing in they send me back 10-9's and 10-10's and they all look the same in grade before I send them. I have known this since the early 2000's. I sent 3 of the same card this last time and got a 10,9,8 of the same card and all were clean and nothing wrong with anyone of them. I still send in cards to them but usually 1 of each and only 20 cards or so total in each order. Still get screwed over in grades and I take the time to clean each card with a cloth so that they are clean. I think they change out cards to bad cards so the best cards get saved and sent to the big companies or people who expect 10's to sell and we get the shaft! I mean that to the fullest extent when I say that. If they lose the biggest companies sending in large quantities of cards they will be out of business.
Man that was a lot of 9s that grader gave your cards! I wish that they would noted on the paperwork why the grades were given if they didn’t get a 10. I get sometimes we miss something but those were a lot of misses and I know you check your cards really good. I recently got two submissions back, one of 11 cards submitted got 7 10s and the other of 31 cards submitted only got 15 10s . Just never know with these graders 🤷🏽♂️. Thanks for sharing as always
How does everyone like SGC for pc? I have a lot of 90's basketball and new football cards I want to get graded. I like the black look of their slabs and the short turnaround time. I just bought a green Mosaic Breece Hall to see if I like the slabs.
Thanks for videos have watched about everyone. Nice to watch someone opening alot of the boxes about everyone can afford. Also helps watching your videos to see how good some of the boxes are to decide if i wanna buy the same boxes. Thanks have a blessed day bro
That was rough especially considering that 9s dont really sell for much more than a raw. Interesting that your die cuts got the most tens too. I have seen your other grading videos and you tend to get solid grades on average so something is definitely up with this submission as that is a terrible gem rate and those cards all look clean. Out of interest do you check the surface under a bright light out?
Beckett grading services are the best. They break down the grade for the Surfaces, Edges, and Corners. PSA doesn't do that! It seems like they give no effort in grading. All of your cards looked flawless.
Im 100% sure if that Trevor Lawrence had the 2 dings or debris out the box you wouldnt have sent it in. All they do is damage cards so you won't be able to crack and resubmit. For a Halloween morning upload I must say it was a bit of a horror from PSA. Any Purdy 9 can easily get resubmitted tho because those all looked too clean to be a 9 😅
We must have had the same grader. Im putting my reveal out tomorrow. Sent in 19 cards, and got crushed. And I was super picky on which ones I sent, even though some of it was low end. Super frustrating bro. I felt your pain as you were seeing em.
Yo Sky what sleeves do you use I really need to find those and when you rip packs I notice you have 3 different piles what are the different piles for and what cards should I try to sleeve? Thanks man
Man that was rough. I have definitely felt that way before but when you look them over really well you’ll find the grade is generally accurate. I’d be happy to take the Howell off your hands
Its good to get the cards slabed for preserving the cards. 9's are not that bad. But you definitely want 10's! Better luck in the future brother. Them cards are 🔥
Man that’s rough I just recently got back Trevor and purdys prizm base and got the exact same grades as u. When submitting bases even of the top guys u need those 10s. My last order had the same trend getting 9s on the bigger cards but 10s on my no name zebras
I wouldn't have even sent in many of those cards simply due to how bad the centering is. Centering in the first thing to consider when picking cards to send in. Pick better cards get better grades
I wonder if people are ever gonna just come to the realization that these people are doing their jobs and some of your cards are not in perfect condition. If you were the expert, you would be working for PSA.
Lawrence red checkboard is really off centered left to right and top right corner maybe. So 8 is probably correct I would think. But other cards seemed like they should have been a 10 and weren’t.
I agree 100%. Smaller cards got 10's. All your tie dyes with no disrespect got 10's but all looked off left to right. And they were all non descript players!
PSA on some B.S. They say die cuts are hardest to grade but you got all 10s on die cuts. They definitely trying to keep pop low on nicer cards and it's amazing you pull a card , sleeve it immediately, and it gets an 8. WTF
I just got back some of my old Topps Finest 2012 from SGC. I mean i know the value isn't as much as PSA but I got all 10's on some 12 year old cards that just been chilling in some card holders.
Yo fam. Nice haul. Even though alot got 9s i think anything from 9 up is still valued pretty decent. Id send that checkerboard back tho. That was rough. Still nice haul. God bless.
Man it’s just sad cause I wouldn’t of sent the cards in if they were 8’s, let alone 9’s. They always grade the “hot” player at the time, way more strictly than the others and it’s just annoying sometimes😂
@@skybcards I totally agree and I think it depends on the person grading it at that time it's like if they're having a bad day or they don't like that player it seems like they purposely grade it like crap. I personally think everything should be done by machine there are some cons to that but the machine doesn't have feelings it can't pick and choose whether they want to grade everything the right way or just say heck with it because they're having a bad day LOL
I love PSA slabs but there graders clearly take personal issues into there workspace. I have seen so many mint cards with sharp edges and 0 surface issues come back as 8s and 9s . Really they would break down the grades like literally every other grading company
Between PSA's turnaround time, inconsistency and up charges I could care less that they still lead the way in sale value. SGC is such a better company as a customer service experience and in my opinion their slabs look better.
Hey man. That red and black checkered looked to have a bent corner on front. Top right but that could have just been a glare from the camera. PSA could have really messed your card up and graded it as so. I try to take pics before I send them to PSA to cover myself in case they try and pull some shit cause they have no mercy and will mess your card up and won’t say anything. Sorry about this submission man. Some of those 9s should have been 10s!
It’s a shot in the dark really. Depends on how strict the grader is I think. I recently did a 20 card submission and got over 50% gem rate. I’d clean and resubmit the Trevor checkerboard for sure!
stopped grading with PSA about 6 months ago. focused on Vintage. Imagine a world where anything above a 1 is exciting. Well thats SGC and vintage. plus i get them back in 2 weeks so I can get them listed and have them out at shows. not simping, just facts
I know you get top return in money for PSA, but I don't trust them at all. I really hate how grading is done and there is never any explanation on why the cards receive the grade they do. It is what keeps me from grading cards. I've only graded a few, and mostly with SGC.
I'm waiting on 20 Tlaws sent in about a month ago. This video makes me really worried haha I checked all of mine, like very close checks. And all of them should be 9 or 10s. But now I'm worried.
Hit up a little victory sports cards on UA-cam. He prescreens cards a lot of those cards were definitely OC but I also think you had a tough grader to. Keep up the good content. Better luck next time.
you make me feel better about the sub i got back yesterday, were i went 22 out 32 on 10s. also went 8/8 on purdy optic pinks and prizms. they did damage a burrow blue hyper of mine and gave it a 6.
They damaged a cade cunningham optic rookie of mine down to a 5 the rest of that submission was 75 percent gem notning below a 9 and the cade was a 5 with a huge dent in the center of the card, as if id ever send that
@@saucebaseball4364 yeah thats crazy I wonder if they damage them when they put them in the slab or how it happens my card had creases on the back that obviously weren't there when I send it in. I also sent in 6 trevor paper rookies and got a 7 two 8s a 9 and two 10s and literally all 6 cards look identical I don't get it. But they did give me PSA 10 on all eight purdys I sent in so I can't complain
You averaged an 8.5 on your 4 thick cards. I just sent 6 thick cards and a crown royale die cut to sgc. I averaged an 8.8 on my 6 thick bois. Doesn't make sense to grade thick cards with PSA. The only advantage to PSA is the resale premium you get for a 10. Thick cards aren't getting a 10 anyway so I go with SGC for the low price and quick turnaround.
Awesome video but tough grading..I know SGC isn’t as popular but I got 10’s on my bigger cards and 9.5s on most others so I was happy..PSA just not consistent!
Hey I know this is an old video but when you submit more cards to psa does there grading become harsher? I submitted 1 card once and got a 10 but then I see all of these people getting worse grades when they send so many cards in.
I love the vids. I just got into the card hobby. I ripped some Panini Mosaic NFL and pulled a stained glass Derek Henry and Justin Jefferson, a honeycomb of Trevor Lawrence and a banger Kaleidoscope of Bryce Young. You think its worth it to get these graded for return this season or should I just wait and value bulk these? What would you do personally? Cheers!
Dang man, sorry you had to endure that..i just got my 58 card sub back and i gemmed all of my 100 bucks an under cards and my purdy's, hurts rc and tua genesis came either 9s or 6s or 7s..i feel like its predetermined on whos the hot ticket also
Man that was rough, this is why I don't grade tho. I would rather sell a card raw than take a gamble on spending even more money on the cards I either bought, ripped or hit in breaks (I do breaks nearly every day) so for me... it's either PC or doubles, raw.
I absolutely hate how they don't give you any breakdown on the grade. Makes it seem so random.
Random...rigged...take your pick.
Because it is random. I've seen too many PSA 10s that are obviously not gem mint. - WW
Doesn't Beckett or whatever break theirs down?

I wonder if people are ever gonna just come to the realization that these people are doing their jobs and some of your cards are not in perfect condition. If you were the expert, you would be working for PSA.
Lawrence red checkboard is really off centered left to right and top right corner maybe. So 8 is probably correct I would think. But other cards seemed like they should have been a 10 and weren’t.
Dude, that was rough. Sorry to see it and hope you have better luck next time
I agree 100%.
WTF
It’s crazy man, I noticed and thought the same thing about the die cuts. But the base Purdy cards are all 9’s
Noti gang🤟🤟
My man💪💪
You need to look at the card's and be more selective on what card's you send for grading
What makes you say that?
@@skybcardsit's the manufacturers fault not the grader. I have 30 raw t law rookies and only 2 are gradeable
I just got back some of my old Topps Finest 2012 from SGC. I mean i know the value isn't as much as PSA but I got all 10's on some 12 year old cards that just been chilling in some card holders.
Ayeee nice man!!🔥🔥
Yo fam.
I don’t trust PSA. I send all my PC Cards to SGC. Great video, Go Lions 🦁
Go lions baby!!🔥🔥
What's the cost of SGC ?
@@sirJayGee $15; also no up charge
Love what you do man!
Appreciate that man!🙌
Between PSA's turnaround time, inconsistency and up charges I could care less that they still lead the way in sale value.
I’d clean and resubmit the Trevor checkerboard for sure!
it was pretty oc
stopped grading with PSA about 6 months ago. focused on Vintage.
That Brady copper is pretty nasty, color match? Gotta bust that TLaw checkerboard bruh
Yessirrr loved the Brady 🔥🔥🔥 & man… talk about heart break on the T-Law
Keep your head up brother! That was rough! The grader was having a terrible day! Our something!
They’ve been handling out way to many psa 10’s lately so you probably sent them at the wrong time 😆
I feel like we had the same grader. You definitely will make money but geez, some of those cards were Gems
I'm waiting on 20 Tlaws sent in about a month ago. This video makes me really worried haha I checked all of mine, like very close checks. And all of them should be 9 or 10s. But now I'm worried.
I did notice how u said the lower name guys got 10s and big name qbs got 8 or 9. The name on the card shldnt affect the grade!
PSA grades based on value, it’s ridiculous
It doesn't. Dont believe every thing this guy says
Yoooo that tucker is sick. I’m a huge ravens fan how much for it?
Crack those low graded slabs and resend them to a different grader what like to see the video on that return before and after
do you inspect them under a magnifying light and clean them first?
That was rough. Maybe try SGC but it sucks that the value is from the PSA logo.
I’ve never tried SGC, heard they have fast turnaround times
Some tough grades, but a lot of those you are pretty much losing money on unless it's a 10 - which, should not be expected.
Awesome video but tough grading..I know SGC isn’t as popular but I got 10’s on my bigger cards and 9.5s on most others so I was happy..PSA just not consistent!
Whew vid posted 3 mins ago And on Halloween Happy Halloween!!!
Happy Halloween fam 😎😎
Same stuff been happening to me, pretty frustrating all around I feel you
Done with PSA
this grader forreals had it out for you. gave you 10s on all the low end cards damn
Do you use one of those centering tools?
My last PSA submission was brutal bro...tons of 8 and 9's especially on Purdy cards
Better sell those purdys while u can he's .mid grade
You need to do a video, crack them, re send them and see what the next grades will be
Hey I know this is an old video but when you submit more cards to psa does there grading become harsher? I submitted 1 card once and got a 10 but then I see all of these people getting worse grades when they send so many cards in.
That's why I don't use PSA they gave you PSA 10 on cards that ain't worth much💀💀💀
I love the vids. Cheers!
is that PSA 10 Sproles select auto available tho? 🔥🔥🔥
I just got my card from your whatnot giveaway. Your a legend bro 🙏🙏
Wow these are some cool cards too. hHope you been doing better
Dang man, sorry you had to endure that..i just got my 58 card sub back and i gemmed all of my 100 bucks an under cards and my purdy's, hurts rc and tua genesis came either 9s or 6s or 7s..i feel like its predetermined on whos the hot ticket also
Absolutely ridiculous, sorry to hear that bro
Will Levis is a good card to sell right now.
That was tough. Soŕry Sky B. What is the next best grading company in your opinion?
BGS probably
How would go back to PSA again your cards where perfect
Man that was rough, this is why I don't grade tho. I would rather sell a card raw than take a gamble on spending even more money on the cards I either bought, ripped or hit in breaks (I do breaks nearly every day) so for me... it's either PC or doubles, raw.
how much money have you spent in your life on cards each week?
I’m not even sure brotha, a lot haha
