My mum the eldest of the family went to the grandfathers house to get his goods and chattels for lack of better words. All the ( or most of ) grandma's jewellery was already gone to the vultures, virtually overnight. The few pieces that were found including a pair of gold teardrop earrings ( very old ) that were left behind as one of the ghouls had given them the tooth test and found they were not solid gold. They left teeth marks in both earrings thus destroying them and threw them back in the box. To this day my mum still has them. Note: they were indeed quite valuable ( she had them valued for curiosity sake, value B4 the damage ) . The ghouls through their selfishness and ignorance discarded value. Those earrings are still stored safely away. Ain't Karma wonderful !!!

I would tell some people. People I can trust. An if anyone started getting greedy, I'd just cut them out of my life.
Part of the problem they made, was being super generous right from the start. Without even being like "Yo we didn't have to do this, but we thought it'd be nice to bless y'all. We can't really do this all the time or for everyone, but...we decided to do something nice for y'all"
INstead it was more like "YOu didn't treat us the best and we're just giving money away to ALL family members. Because we can."
If you let people think they CAN be Entitled, they WILL be entitled often times.
Personally tho, when I dated a girl who had more money than me...I never tried to hit her up for money. I never just expected her to pay for all my meals. Anything she gave me I saw as a gift freely given, and NOT an entitlement.

Had a friend come into money. I was there when it happened. I flat out told him don't let anyone know you have this, just spend only a little extra on yourself over time and no one will be the wiser. He didn't listen to me. Now, the two of us hung out in mostly different circles of friends, I was aquaintance level at best with a few of the circle he hung out with. He said it was no big deal, nothing would change with his close buds. Yeah...within a week his 'close buds' were asking him for money, by the end of a month he had to cut ties with all of them. His own family was haranging him for cash too. After 7-8 months he moved out of state, changes his numbers, didn't tell anyone about his new job, etc. The only one he still talks to is me and his sister, I was shocked to hear the two of us were the only people who never asked him for money.
All this from what was honestly not a lot of money. He only found himself suddenly flushed with 'buy 3 houses' money. Which is what he did, one to live in, two to rent as supplementary income while his job generates his actual income.
It is incredible how people are more like guppies than they would want to admit.

Things were great for 2 years until he got a girlfriend. I can’t prove it but shortly after I told her that the house was mine, he stopped paying me rent. At the same time my boyfriend had gotten a better job and was helping me out with the bills. I have a feeling she put the idea in his head that since I was better off, he didn’t need to pay me. I evicted them.

The people no longer thank the group for helping them but now consider it the groups responsibility to give them the food they deserve.

Yeah, this isn't anything new, apparently. From stories my Grandma told me when I was a kid, this was standard behavior towards rich relatives, in olden times.
My Grandpa was the only son of an extremely rich man. My Great Grandfather was also an only child so my Grandfather ended up inheriting all the family wealth. My Grandma was also from an extremely well off family. So we were financially stable.
My Grandpa decided to relocate our family to a big city because he was a lawyer and he wanted more opportunities than he would get in his village. At this time two of my Grandfathers cousins, from his mother's side, came and asked him to split all of his wealth into two and give a part to each of them. Their logic was that my Grandma was just as rich as Grandpa and nobody needed that much wealth. And since he was going to make big bucks as a lawyer, he could afford to give all of his money away.
Grandpa had bought them each new houses and a few acres of land the year before. And it wasn't like they were suffering for money or struggling to make ends meet. They were comfortably middle class, just not wealthy.
Well Grandpa refused. They said that they deserved a share and Grandpa told them that his wealth was from his father's side and they were on his mother's side of the family. They didn't deserve anything and he wouldn't give anything. They tried everything, from water works and guilt trips to curses and abuse.
Grandpa left with our family and they never saw each other again. Good riddance, Grandma always said.

@@darknessblades a restraining order like that is completely unenforceable (and would never be issued). A restraining order can't force someone to move homes, quit their job, or massively alter their life style without good reason. Theres a reason most of them are only for a few hundred yards.
Also as restraining orders are usually issued by state courts, not federal courts, they can't ever prevent someone doing something in another state.
And should you try to get a restraining order banning someone from your state, their lawyer will get a big old smile on their face, and proceed to jump up and down with joy while explaining that a person can not be bared from working, living or residing in any state, that right is enshrined in law.
