      I once saw one for sale on Ebay, so you could keep on looking. I've given up looking for a parcel rack. It could take ages. Thanks for watching and commenting

      @@peterh600 yea I do often I would try make one but I haven't got the correct tools or welder, I've got a rack on mine but it's split where the bolts screw to the frame on the mudguard I have another one it's the same story but someone back when ever cut the actual holding part of the rack so its just the pole to be able to lift the bike

    I'm doing my fork seals at the moment the seals are pretty much stuck I've got to pry them out some how, my oil was the same as yours very nasty and mucky nice vid

      It's been a while, but if the leg and stanchion are still together and you have removed the retaining circlip. The seal should come out when you separate the stanchion from the leg.

      Thanks for watching and hopefully you'll find something useful in it. I have used wd40 with a stubborn fork seal.

      @@peterh600 how do you separate them, do you just have to keep working on the station

    • @peterh600
      @peterh600  5 років тому

      @@Declanpyro907 yeah the vid isn't that clear. You keep working the fork, and so long as the large circlip is removed the leg and stanchion will separate. Not all motorcycle forks are like these. You push the chrome stanchion into the lower leg , then pull them apart and repeat. Seems crude but that's it.

    Hello, thank you for your video. I also have to change my spy joins but I can't separate the stanchion from the leg. I have removed all the pieces I could but it does'n work. Have you got a solution ?

    • @peterh600
      @peterh600  4 роки тому

      Yes, carefully hold the leg in a vice. Press the stanchion in about 15cm then yank them apart. Repeating that will force the bush holding the stanchion in, and the seal will come out as well. Make sure you have removed the large circlip.
      Hope this helps.

      @@EMakeTeam ok you could try light to medium heating with a cheap blow torch nothing to powerful and cool it back down with WD-40. Then repeat the earlier steps. Sometimes takes time for WD-40 to work. Using heat has worked well me on old sticking joins.

    Did the spring come out when u removed the top bolt ?

    • @peterh600

      I can't very well answer because I removed the circlip at the stanchion in the middle of the fork. Good point though maybe it will. Thanks for watching

    I know this video is old but is it just the clip that holds the lowers and uppers together I've taken both the clip and washer off but am struggling to separate them just use more force?

    • @JackWain-m2b
      @JackWain-m2b 2 місяці тому +1

      I don't know if I'm missing something or what but I've removed the clip so they should come apart? There identical to the ones in the video. Thank you for any advice

    • @peterh600
      @peterh600  2 місяці тому

      @JackWain-m2b the way I separated the forks is to be certain that the circlip is removed sometimes obscured by dirt. Once you are sure the circlip is removed the fork should separate maybe heat it gently
