So sad to read today about the deaths of both Paul Cotton and Rusty Young in 2021. I'm just blown away. Saw "Poco" as a teen in the 1973 plus or minus one year. (Still in my vinyl collection those I bought back then, pre 1980 good pressings.) It was at University of New Hampshire. Ill need to see who else in the band we've lost. RIP Rusty - Paul, Thank You. You'll live on on You Tube. We can be grateful for that.

One of the finest groups to ever come along! I've been a fan since i first heard 'Pickin Up the Pieces' back in 69' One of the most underrated groups ever! Poco is like a Rocky always coming back for more, they just didn't achieve the stardom they richly deserved! I finally got to see them in Houston in 79' and they blew us away doing the Legend LP!! Many have come and gone in the group, we know who they are, but i have to say, to me, it was always Paul Cotton and Rusty Young who held steadfast to Poco, they were Poco!. I was so sad to hear of their passing in 2021 and so close together, It was unreal! . All true Poco fans like myself who know their history, their songs and their journey, know their will never be a Poco with their passing and its a crying shame the HOL never inducted them, it's their loss! We fans know they will always have a place in our hearts!! RIP Paul and Rusty! Long Live The Legend That Is Poco!!

@@JeffMcCalib It's excellent, for sure. And he's not bad with a little Japanese at the start of the video. As much as I hated seeing the bassists leave for to the Eagles, it forced Rusty to step out front more as a vocalist. That ended up being good for Poco--and for Poco fans. So many of their great songs (and not just the singles) feature him on lead vocals. "Rough Edges" here is a good example.

@@harveychristenson8307 oh 1 more thing. Paul's Magnolia is the most beautiful version of JJ's song. Paul's live version from a concert (I believe in 2004) is the best I ever had...killer!
I saw Poco in the late 1970s with Young and Cotton and I believe the bassist and drummer were England. They had released Legend which got more attention that most of their other albums. I think one of the problems was that the sun was setting on the the seventies country rock scene and that the ship had already sailed that type of music. Still, I had been a fan during their various personal changes but the stars were never aligned for Poco as far as really making a breakthrough.
They sound fantastic! I'm not familiar with the line-up, for sure! Definitely not my "Tim Smith", but no complaints at all. And the Bottom Line! Can't remember half the great musicians I'd seen there (and won't list the one's I CAN think of) but that was my #1 venue in NYC. Walking distance from my Pop's digs in the Village. By '92, I couldn't afford the drive into the city, parking (if I had to) and tickets. Then the doors shut, just like CBGB's, and all the good stages. Memories...
I prefer Paul's and Rusty's songs and musicianship over Richie's. My favorite Poco albums are all post Richie: Rose Of Cimaron Indian Summer Legend Ghost Town Under The Gun Blue And Gray
Good band here but hardly Poco. Rusty Young is the only original member here. Poco has had so many personnel changes throughout their history, it's had to keep track of who was in the band when.

Still get back to Ia now and then to visit family. Anyway...We have more than Ia in common. Paul Cotton has been my favorite musician for decades. Written and sang many great songs. I met him a couple of times. Once had lunch w Paul, Rusty and George (80s) Iam still sad of the passing of both Paul and Rusty. Hard to believe how fast life has gone by. Seems not so long ago I saw them in concert in Phx. So it goes...nice to meet another person who loves Paul Cotton...Sue ☺

And when I made it to Nashville.
I have this concert but this version has these songs missing (Spellbound, Crazy Love and What Do people know).
Please post it.
So sad rusty and Paul are gone!
Been a big loss in my life
My god, they sound like the Eagles. Actually, I guess it's the other way around, isn't it?
Yeah yeah they're the best there ever was and criminally underrated and blah blah blah blah blah. People are so extreme today.
Richie Furay ?
これは昔NHKで放映したね。ビデオに録画したよ。(*´з`)
The man in red said he is Tim Smith. Ofcourse not the legendary Timothy B. Schmit.
he needs a whole lotta more hair to be TBS
Rip Rusty and Paul
I miss u guys
should have edited out the flashing "low battery" signal. but who tries to record something like this without enough battery?
Such talent! The homogenized computerized bs I hear today is canon fodder.
All original members left in 1991.
No. Young never left.
@@JeffMcCalib Except Rusty.
Several of the members of Poco ended up in the Eagles.

@@lastnamefirst4035 Yeah, only Tim Schmitt
I think you guys forgot about Randy Meisner.
32.07 😮
They sound fantastic! I'm not familiar with the line-up, for sure! Definitely not my "Tim Smith", but no complaints at all. And the Bottom Line! Can't remember half the great musicians I'd seen there (and won't list the one's I CAN think of) but that was my #1 venue in NYC. Walking distance from my Pop's digs in the Village. By '92, I couldn't afford the drive into the city, parking (if I had to) and tickets. Then the doors shut, just like CBGB's, and all the good stages. Memories...
Where was Randy? I thought he was with them in this period.
No
He left the band in 1991.
But unfortunately neither of them can sing like Richie Furay. Talk about under rated.
🇹🇭😷🇹🇭
Love Rusty and Paul, but...
Rusty and Paul, and a couple of guys just isn't Poco.
Who is
the bass player?
Richard Neville
Just not the same without Richie, Tim, and George.
Better like this with Cotton and Young out front.
No POCO without Richie Furay.
Not true....they were great with and or without him.
@@fvvfvbbbb Richie had/has the best voice.
@@kimdiez2681 I dunno know.. Rusty and Paul had some great hits..Crazy Love and Heart of the night were awesome 👍
I prefer Paul's and Rusty's songs and musicianship over Richie's.
My favorite Poco albums are all post Richie:
Rose Of Cimaron
Indian Summer
Legend
Ghost Town
Under The Gun
Blue And Gray
@@JeffMcCalib same
Good band here but hardly Poco. Rusty Young is the only original member here. Poco has had so many personnel changes throughout their history, it's had to keep track of who was in the band when.
Well the rest went on to other things,Richie did next to nothing, but these are the longest serving two and Paul was around a long ,long time.
@@davesteffin9012 Richie has always been recording
