I swear everything they made is so smooth
Jdilla produced almost all of the tracks, PrincePaul produced a few remixes and underground remixes and unreleased stuff you hear, Phife dog also produced a few tracks as the later album was released Midnight Marauders he had his footprint in a few tracks, but generally Prince Paul and Jdillas work. Superb production, but the group went against the Jdilla signature sound on the last 2 albums, which were the poorest rated and poorest produced and less memorable just commercial style tracks. That ended this group.
If you're trolling you're masterful...

The golden era of rap/hip hop
I wish the young kids would appreciate this. I show my son all the old school hip-hop from the 90s late 80s. And he absolutely loves it. But then I’ll catch him listening some shit on hot 97 with zero lyrics and an OK beat. And I’m like really dude. He’ll figure it out though.
Best hip hop flow of all time...I said what I said...😁

Q-Tip is a rap icon, so underrated.
Fr yo
I think he only underrated by those that didnt live through the era. Or maybe it could be location but everyone that lived on the Atlantic coast during that era cant like hip hop and not put him in the top
He's underrated because he wasn't really into gangsta rap as such. He mixed hip-hop with elements from jazz which isn't appreciated by those who think hip-hop is just gangsta rap.
No he's not!

Buy or sell : 1991-1996 was the best era for hip hop.
Let's expand that. Because there are like 3 or 4 distinct years where by all the albums released that you could say was a great year. Golden Era (which I know is what you're referring to) is from 1986-1996 technically when Run DMC and Eric B. and Rakim came out. Buy that most definitely. I would say also that 1988, 1991, 1993, and 1994 were HUGE years in Hip Hop. Just the number of great albums that I listen too from those 4 years alone everyday (btw, I'm only 18 so I didn't grow up on this!) is a great amount.
Sam Alexander Actually, I probably should switch 1994 with 1995 because '95 had a lot more great albums. But, '94 had Ready to Die and The GOAT Albums of Illmatic with many other good albums.
I would say the 80's to 1996 but rap today has falling off
campdry Agree, but look at the young guys in the game. Ab-Soul (I know, he's not young), Kendrick, J Cole (sometimes), Chance the Rapper, Odd Future, and Logic and Joey Bada$$, have there debut LP albums coming out soon. I think hip hop is coming back since from like 2004-2011, hip hop as a whole was a disappointment and an embarrassment from most of the artists.
I would start around 88 or 89 to 95 or 96. A lot of great artists during the late 80's. All I remember is watching Yo MTV raps as a kid thinking to myself how good this shit is. Now, rap/hip hop pretty much blows. So sad.
No one ever talk about this rap group but only Tupac, Biggie, Snoop Dog etc. Most underrated rap group ever! They have got the flow and finesse. Impressive!
Trueeeee ❤️
Also Pharycde, Hieroglyphics, Digable Planets, etc.

Yeah when it came out it was like Whoa- this music- this genre, can literally stand shoulder to shoulder with ANY music. As technically precise, dense, meaningful and compelling as any other music you can listen to- and the entire album is essentially one seminal work. At the time it was in a class by itself and I honestly think there’s maybe only 1-2 other hip hop albums that can match it in its entirety.
