The large white ship in the beginning is (or at least represented and I think quite possibly really was) a liquefied natural gas tanker. With Putin's gas extortion a couple of years back, one of the very rare LNG tankers was docked to Finland as a security of supply matter. And a significant exercise with special forces, police and border guard was conducted about how it would go down if saboteurs tried something at the harbour. And it was made very public as an information op.
The colourful F-18 at the end was US Marines.

    • @vRackham
      @vRackham 3 місяці тому +1

The ship is specifically a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). Tankers unload LNG to this ship, which then turns it back to gas and feeds it to the national gas grid.

Tkiv 85 is accurate and durable. That was the first scoped rifle I ever fired in my life. Our sharpshooters gave us field day going through them at the range and then we had a little competition. 300m range, pouring rain and the wind was something mad. My groupin of five was at the upper right corner around 8-9 with the largest gap between shots at 6cm. It sort of renewed my trust in my shooting skills.... Even got my RK zeroed more accurate after that.
Loved the Mosin so much it's one of my favorite moose hunting rifles even today....

Hi thanks for covering so many foreign militaries, as a GWOT VET I think its very important on a professional level for soldiers to know more about each other whether as allies to work together or potential enemies.
In my opinion the next stage of evolution is for every single soldier to be a scholar in the Green Beret model, Embedded Training Teams and OMLT Teams were just the beginning.
Can you do 2 big favours for me please.
    1. Put the videos and the sources into playlists for each country or region of countries for concise and comprehensive research.

The idea is tho hit the target grid from multiple locations all at the same time so there will be no warning of incoming rounds. I've personally seen a simultaneous coordinated attack from several artillery batteries and the whole area of land just explodes. Finns train a lot joint co-operation between different units.

Also pkm uses same caliber. I think some says now 6,5 creedmoor is better. Sure it is but how many machine guns like pkm use that ammo? 😅 Now you need 1 ammo type to assault rifle and 1 for machine gun or sniper rifle.

Finland is offering training ground and airspace to other NATO countries, so assumable there will be footage from those excercises. Also, Finnish military will be taking more part to excercises outside Finland, so that's interesting too. Here are the first Finnish Jägers training in Lockstedt, Germany, in 1916: "Jääkärit väreissä, Lockstedt 1916". An anniversary event: "Finnentag 2015 in Hohenlockstedt". About their time there and how the geopolitical situation at the time effected that campaign: "The Finnish Jägers In World War 1 I THE GREAT WAR On The Road". A (Finnish only) video about how camera has been used as part of the Finnish military training, as a combat camera and for other information purposes during past 90 years (8 years ago): "Kuvaustoiminta Puolustusvoimissa 90 vuotta - Katsaus koulutuselokuvan vuosikymmeniin". Close combat training in 1957: "Lähitaistelu (Close Combat) - Finnish Defense Force, Finnish Army 1957". The Big Picture episode from ca. 1959: "Phantom Fighters (Green Berets) in Color with Larry Thorne (Lauri Törni)", Some bearded reservists in training in 1999: "yrjö Jukola Sissi juttuja.". The first scenes, the high speed shit, it was a joint training hit on a major harbour LNG terminal "captured" by an unconvential enemy force, conducted by the Finnish Police Special Intervention Unit Karhu (aka Bear group), Utti Special Jaegers & Border Guard 1st or 5th Special Intervention Unit (probably 1st unit due to terminal location).
We had a lot of US army (and UK conventional army + Paras & RM Commados I hear) here in 2023 & 2024 winters getting arctic training. Some poor dudes got here just as we got near record-breaking freezing temps for a couple weeks. I know a bunch of US Army SF worked with the Utti guys to learn arctic stuff in addition to the usual joint SOF training.

A bunch of my old service buddies went ice fishing with a US army guy on their free time and got hit by real freaky weather incl icy rain & massive winds, followed by extreme cold, and almost got in real trouble. They were prepared, but one buddy still got real nasty frostbite in several toes and a couple fingers. Got to keep them but damn it looked naaaaaasty.
Also, one of them "froze his dick". Not shitting ya, apparently the cold damaged his willy while taking a leak in freezing rain coming down horizontally with wind, and then not getting his clothing back exactly right. It sounds funny, but I was told it hurt like a motherfucker and took like almost 10wks to heal, and no sex or jacking it during healing. Must've been fun.

Finnish commander: "Do you see that grid square with Russians?"
    Artillery officer: "Yes"
Commander: "I don't want to see it anymore."
Officer: "The Russians? Okay I'll call the mortar company."
    Commander: "No, the square."
Officer: "understood. I'll call the artillery batalions."
Commander: "Actually make it the grid. I don't want to see the grid anymore."
Officer: " Okay, I'll call Washington then."

Oh man looking at the US troops skiing at the end, I'd say anyone woolled up that thick would be miserable while skiing in full gear.....😮 ..I remember stripping down to my longjohns and t-shirt under the thin snow camo while pushing it.....

About the bierd... he was either reservist or a member of rapid deployment force. Conscripts and professional soldiers should have a clean face.

Only reservists can have beards atm, but reforming of service regulations might allow tidy beards and moustache on conscripts in the future.

There will probably be new films from the now large NATO exercise Nordic Response 24, where over 20,000 soldiers from 14 NATO countries share. It was ordered on February 6th and will last until March.
You are a US Marine, are you going to Sweden for winter training? For the United States, the US Marines send hitups to Lapland to teach them how to ski, how to fight in a winter environment, how to dress properly against the cold, build snow bivouacs. In a few years, American soldiers will be trained up among the Kiruna mountains at the top of Sweden.

I think they dress up a bit nowadays for the NATO buddies from other countries :). Too bad i'm already in back up reserve so pretty slim chance to be in refresher training with NATO :|
