Hi everyone! In today's video, I react to my 2020 VCE results (the ATAR)
Due to the pandemic, the results were delayed and that meant getting our ATAR's a day before New Year Eve - at least we don't have to repeat year 12 :)
A message to all students - we made it through such a challenging year. Although we missed out on many social events and Year 12 milestones, we can look back on 2020 and be proud of ourselves - for doing everything we could to get to the other side. I hope a brighter future is just around the corner! Good luck to all of you with university, any further studies and your future endeavours ❤

congrats Maskit!!! i graduated in 2019 and got into uni this last year, doing first year of uni in 2020 was hard enough, i can't even imagine doing your hsc, how hard it was to complete your final year in high school in 2020... anyways good job and I'm sure you'll still get into the degree that you want to!!! no harm in trying and all the best!!!

Congratulations. Being in year 12 has allowed me to actually appreciate what I have accomplished. Being motivated to do well, I had the mindset of never actually being proud of my results. For example, achieving 85 was more desirable than achieving 80, and so on. So with that, it's important that we take what we receive and move forward. As a result, look at your result with a new perspective, and keep in mind that it is not a bad result by any means. You achieved something exceptional this year that was beyond the scope of what was expected. Well done 👍

I did year 12 like 5 years ago and I can't remember my ATAR 😂 shows how much it matters

Those were my raw SS but I went to a select entry school so my SAC scores were scaled up by a LOT - my PE average was 60% (I even failed a SAC) and ended up with B, B+, B. It’s completely subjective to each school :)

DARLING! I got an ENTER (10 years ago) of 69.95 (lol) and bawled my eyes out. It was horrible.
HOWEVER - I am now 28 years old and a proud Kindergarten teacher going back to study online the course of my dreams which is Primary Teaching in March! I studied a course after school which I hated - BUT I am proof that your score doesnt define your course or who you are - and there are always pathways!

@@maskitmati It was very different, yet the same. An old, falling apart Year 12 centre, different teaching styles (no laptops etc), BUT teachers are similar, classes are similar and the atmosphere of Mckinnon is still amazing. Pitsa B does NOT age and is literally ageing backwards! She is incredible and always was! Ahhhh so proud of you for getting into Monash! Can't wait for the Uni vlogs! Uni is another world..good luck ;) XXXXX
I'm sure your teachers will advise you, but you have a very good chance of getting into your course - especially in a pandemic year. Also your score is a really fabulous one. However, it is also totally normal to feel disheartened. As a current teacher, who originally studied journalism I can vouch that careers and your idea of them change. I also was in a course with people who received ATARs from 78-99 (clearly in waa 95). Good luck, I'm sure you will be successful.
Thank you! I really hope I get in - I called the uni and seems like there’s a pretty good chance (I think as well because there will be less international students this year) and that’s right! This industry is ever changing and there are so many pathways available. thank you again for the encouragement. It means a lot! :)
An 80 above is so good! I finished my first yr 12 subject as a year 10 and got a study score of 30, but it scaled down to 28 so like.... It's okay haha! You did so well, I'm proud!

Girl, I had the exact same reaction! I got an 80.40 and I was hoping for an 85 to safely get into the course I wanted. (Which is a double degree in nursing and midwifery). I was happy with my score, but felt like I could have gotten a little higher. It’s important to look at the positives and if you applied for seas your atar will be boosted which can help you get into the course you’re looking for. I wish ya the best of luck! 😁

I graduated in 2016, and dropped a subject in yr 12 and didn’t even get an ATAR just my SACE (Adelaide) and I went to tafe the year after graduation and then dropped out. Now I’m working in something completely different and didn’t expect to be where I am back 5 years ago

It's ok maskit you did your best anyways don't care about it too much even tho that's impossible like who am I ,I am an 8th grader and if I don't get the note that I want on my report card I cry ,so who am I to tell that but I think you can go through it and anyways try to get into the university that you wanted maybe they will take because your score was so close to 83 so don't worry God will give you other opportunities so don't worry. work hard love you so so much wish you th3 best of luck in your futur plans 😄😘

Hi! I think something really important to focus on in hebrew is the actual exam technique. Do a bunch of practice exams because there’s a specific system that each one of the exams follow. Good luck! Xx
