How to make soap - Peppermint Luna Swirl

- This is a video showing how I made my peppermint soap called "Sera". I am making this soap using the Luna Swirl soap technique that combines three different soap techniques to achieve a unique type of swirl. This swirl is often described as "glowing". The Luna Swirl technique begins with an ombre pour. The second step is a line pour using the main colors undiluted, or not mixed with any other soap batter. The last step is swirling with a hanger tool. You can swirl any way you wish with this technique.
This technique requires that you have knowledge and experience of all three soaping techniques before attempting.
This particular soap is named after my 20 year old daughter Sera who is the biggest peppermint lover I know, just like me!

So gorgeous - Can’t wait to try. Have learned: start with good planning, use slow to trace colors, get a smaller mould than all my 22” moulds, cut bars with a one slice cutter, be patient, and search first for a coat hanger. I made copious notes. Many thanks to you and all the great teachers on You Tube!
Thank you! I can’t wait for you to try too! Use slow to trace fragrances! A coat hanger may be too thin to move the batter. If you don’t want to buy one (I got mine from Amazon) you can wrap it with lots of tape. You want it to be about as thick as a chopstick. Thank you Sue! I soap between 80-90 F and use fragrance oils that I know will keep my batter fluid.
May I get the recipe or measurements so that I may try it please? Peppermint is my favorite scent!
Thank you for your interest, but I do not share my recipe. There are many slow moving recipes out there that you can look up for free, but I’ve found that as long as you use a fragrance oil that does not accelerate trace, you can use most recipes for this technique.

I am assuming you let the other layers dry first the bottom part of the mold? Otherwise they would mix together?
No, not at all! They would not swirl together if I did that. They do not blend together, they sit one on top of the other. That was a very good question though! I can see how it would look the layers would blend together, so I’m happy you asked that!
