Luna Swirl Soap Tutorial: How to do a Luna Swirl
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 жов 2022
- Here is a detailed look on how to create a soap using the Luna Swirl technique. This is the same technique that I used on my soap that won the January 2022 Soap Challenge Club. I apologize if being slightly out of frame annoys you! This is my first video and I'm not a professional yet, but all the important stuff is visible!
What is a Luna Swirl? A Luna Swirl combines three different soap techniques in the following order to achieve the look:
1. Ombre Pour
2. Line Pour
3. Hanger Swirl
To perform this technique, you should have knowledge of each technique individually and have a good amount of soaping sessions under your belt. It is also essential to use a slow-to-trace fragrance oil. A few that work well for me are Tobacco and Bay Leaf by Brambleberry, Lemon Chiffon from Lone Star Candle Company, and Huckleberry Harvest by Nature's Garden.
You can do any kind of a hanger swirl you want and each result will be stunning. I used a butterfly hanger swirl on my soap in January.

Of course, thanks for watching doll!
So impressive that you got the batter to stay so thin the whole time! Beautiful 👍🏻
Thank you! It's really fairly easy when you have a fragrance oil that keeps your batter fluid.
So beautiful
Thank you 💕
Extremely beautiful. While watching the video, I got the feeling that you were doing very well in the kitchen too. :) 🌺
Thank you! I’ve been cooking since I was 4! I still remember the first thing I made, it was country white peppered gravy❤️
Sooooooo pretty 😍
Thank you so much for watching💙💙💙

Thank you doll! Practice is all it takes!
Absolutely gorgeous and so worth watching your technique. Congratulations, no wonder you won! Can you tell me what you premix your micas and titanium dioxide in? Makes it go so much faster when they are pre-dispersed like that! Thank you for the video!
This is charming 🤩🤩🤩🤩 the color selection is amazing 🤩.. may I ask you about the titanium dioxide you used? Is it ready to use? Or you made it?
beautiful beautiful beautiful beatifulllll 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Thank you 🩷🩷🩷
Beautiful, beautiful job. Can you tell us what those gold dots are that you put on the top?
Thank you Heather! The gold dots are gold bursting beads from Brambleberry.
What oils do you use that stay fluid so long? I love this, but I think I would need to change up my oils to create such an amazing ombré. Beautifully done!
My recipe has olive, coconut, palm, avocado, castor, canola, and raw shea. Thank you so much for watching doll!
Can you tell us how much batter you started with and how much you split off for each color? You have it nailed down with just enough and no waste. Loved watching this and want to try it out. Thank you for sharing!
I start with 40oz of batter and split off about 8oz for each color. I reserve about 2 tablespoons of each color for the top. Thank you for watching!
Are the batches all equal? The pitch with the white, seems double, but maybe because of it shape?
Hi .. :Love the luna swirl. I am wondering, what thickness should the batter to use the hanger?
Thank you! I can’t really say what thickness. I’ve worked when it’s getting thick fast and when it’s still pretty liquified and both come out stunning.
So beautiful! What is the name of the green and where did you get it?
Thank you doll! The color is Kelly Green from Brambleberry💚
How do you get such vibrant colors, what kinda micas do you use? Very pretty
Oven process
Thank you! I do not oven process my soaps. I use mostly Mad Micas, but this soap also has Dark Navy Blue by Nurture Soaps. Using high quality micas helps get the most vibrant colors possible.
@@lunatheleaf4748 thank you for responding, and for the info
Of course, thank you for watching💙
I was wondering what is the product that you spray on top of the soap (in the clear spray)?
That would be 99% rubbing alcohol, thanks for watching Kevin!
@@lunatheleaf4748 Why 3 different bottles then?
@@CreativelyHis33 those are Sparkle Me micas from Mad Micas. I used Sparkle Me Blue, Sparkle Me Gold, and Sparkle Plenty.
Will this not cause muffins or easy macular phenomenon due to insufficient stirring? thanks!
Never had any bad results from hand stirring fragrances or pre mixed micas.
What is the little sprays you put on
Can you tell me the dimensions of the mold and how much soap I needed?! I have a similar template and I don't know how?!
I use the 37oz molds from Amazon. I make 40oz recipes though so that I can use the remaining for embeds and samples.
So 1 pound of soap makes how many soaps for sale?
I mean Roughly speaking what is the average number of soaps?
Um, I'm not sure of that. My standard Amazon mold holds about 2.3 lbs of soap and I get 10 bars from that.
Great video, I have that same soap mold how much water and oils does the mold hold .?
Thank you! This mold holds 37oz of soap batter.
Couldn’t understand the steps logically
I'm sorry! I'm uploading another video on this technique, I'm not sure if that will help you.
Nice video of what I saw before exiting,There is no explanation to what is being done,Sorry!!! But I felt it was a waste of my time to watch and not learn anything.
I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching! This technique is for experienced soapers only. It would confuse and disappoint someone who was not experienced in soapmaking.
